    Col.2{16}

Basically your OP is a good summation, except maybe classifying every Christian who is not a sabbatarian as a "sundayer." If convocation need not be any particular day, that includes Sundays; and there are churches that have replaced one or more services on Sunday with one on Friday or Saturday...

    TV Judge shows

These shows are quite-- um, flighty. It was a good concept in the 80's with old Wapner, because he was just a retired judge who made a good courtroom, as well as television, presence, and knew the law and how a small claims case was to be handled, which was something millions of people were...

    TV Judge shows

Maybe none of them ever read "Judge not lest you be judged."

Why right wingers are pro war? Because pros are more likely to win one than amateurs.

    Robes

No choir robes; and we don't even have a 'choir' every week; sometimes it's an ensemble of 4-6, sometimes only intruments, lyrics on the screen and a songleader. It seems those getting baptized still wore robes-- at least the females-- until a couple or so years ago. I don't remember anyone...

Favorite TV shows from the past...

Gunsmoke -- have written many fanfic stories based on setting, including a novelette crossed with the movie, Shenandoah. Leave it to Beaver -- have written a few fanfics, including the story of how Ward and June met. The High Chaparral The Andy Griffith Show Dragnet (50's series and 60's...

    Is going dairy-free healthy?

Is going dairy-free healthy? Probably not. If everything in a dairy was free, we would eat and driink too much.

What Do You Think of The House Reading the Constitution?

If they want to prove they can read, I am in favor of it. If it was only a P.R. stunt, and they can't really read, it sure took a lot of memorization.

    Question for KJV Fans

"KJV fans?" I still have an old KJV, but I think the pages are too small to make very effective fans with.

    Really Annoying Phrases

Really annoying phrases? How about, "I hate to say this, but........." Obviously you do not hate to say it. In general, I deplore false disclaimers. Besides that one, there is "I'm not one for carrying tales, but...." and "Not to make excuses, but...." Some of those "buts" need kicking.

If You Had A Time Machine??

I started to think some time ago that I must have been born about 20 years too late. If I had been born in the late 30's, I would have missed the hot war in Korea, had military service done before Vietnam, worked in developing technologies, and had a television when westerns were the biggest...

Traditional, but wrong, points in the story of Jesus’ birth

32% say it is definitely or inherantly wrong that: "The wise men followed the star to Bethlehem from their own country." So most think that is true, or at least palpable. Maybe that is misleading one. But scripture does not say they "followed" the star they had seen from their own country to...

    What for new years?

I have an invitation for a "masquerade ball" arranged by a metro Christian singles' group, but I'm quite sure I'm not going. I'd most probably be one of the oldest ones there, have made no arrangement for a costume, and I'd likely end up just doing nothing there anyway, as a game leg and cane do...

    Christmas Eve and President Obama

"Other answer." I was home, but not 'with family' because I live alone, and I was preparing for a 2-hour drive to my brother and sister-n-law's place, where another brother, a niece, her husband and 2 kids, would be. I could have made the first (of 3) services we had that day, but I have heard...

Traditional, but wrong, points in the story of Jesus’ birth

Does anyone know much about trying to publish a song? In this case a "Christmas song," but one that arguably should not be considered only seasonal, like "Joy to the World" and "Immanuel;" but a Christmas song because that's just when any events about Jesus as a baby or a young child are...

    Why are the rich hated

Quite a number of families, I'm sure. Rockefeller, Stevenson, Daley,...But no family rivals the Kennedys in that way. 2 very high profile bump-offs and other tragedies makes them appear a victimized family rather than one in which grandpa climbed up by any means, legal or illegal, ethical or...

    Why are the rich hated

One irony of human nature (define that term as you will) is that the less ambitious a person is, the more likely that person is to overextend. People that float from low-requirement, low-paying jobs spend everything they get (as they often have to), then complain about their situation, how they...

    Totally useless laws

Arkansas: In Fayetteville, it is illegal to kill "any living creature." Wow-- never boil water or use disinfectant. California: It is illegal to cry on the witness stand in Los Angeles courts. You would never know that from watching Perry Mason. Delaware: Getting married on a dare is...
