Is this blasphemous enough for you?

They were already with her when they came looking for Jesus that time.

Is this blasphemous enough for you?

But if the "brothers" said to be his were really cousins, as you indicated, would not THEY have been the ones responsible for her care, instead of John?

Is this blasphemous enough for you?

When I first heard the term, "mercy seat," I thought it must mean that bench that sets outside the principal's office at the school.

My aunt is dying .... please pray for God to be merciful.

Scarlett, you and all your family are sincerely in my prayers. This has been a week of deep contemplation for me, as my mom passed away on September 1, 2001, and a very good friend passed on that same date in 2005 at age 42. But neither were as sudden as your aunt's case. I trust God did have...

    Favorite Cheerios cereal

I seldom buy or eat cereal, but if I did I would consider it illogical to purchase Cheerios. I would buy a cheap brand of toasted oat cereal instead. I am hard to brainwash into paying more for the same thing.

Do you remember your first day of school?

As today is the first day of school for many, let's go back in memory. Not necessarily the first day of first grade, although I do remember my such day, but anything interesting on the first of day of school of any grade. The main thing I remember first day of frist grade was that I was not...

    Worst Hymn Texts

As a kid in Bible School, one year we sang "All Creatures of Our God and King" every assembly, and I came to like it then. But for years I have had other thoughts about such a song. Should proclaiming the gospel apply to animals as well as to people? The words indidcate such. And then...

Politics in Corporate Worship: What Would You Do?

I assume you know that the command of Jesus went even further, as he said, "Say 'yes, yes,' or 'no, no;' anything more than these comes of evil." So-- you don't pledge anything to anything/one. You must not sign anything like a "commitment card." You must not have a passport, since you must...

Obama Endorses Mosque Project Near Ground Zero Site

If government building inspectors come to inspect a church, or a fire department responds to a call at a church, then which are the church and the government entities?-- separate or together?

Obama Endorses Mosque Project Near Ground Zero Site

You can argue all you want, but a municipal fire department responding to a call at a church does combine state and church, as does building codes and inspectors coming into the buildings and sanitation crew taking a church's refuse. The fact that virtually no one perceives it to mean that...

Politics in Corporate Worship: What Would You Do?

Then going by much of the reasoning on this thread, since funerals are not focused on God, but on someone besides God, they do not belong 'in church.' Correct? Furthermore, if we have a lifeless body there to look at, to admire, perhaps adore, to praise what 'it' once did... funerals, as usually...

Obama Endorses Mosque Project Near Ground Zero Site

But it is, in fact, if it is municipal fire department [state] responding to a fire at a church building [church]. What this shows is that virtually no one really advocates absolute separation of church and state. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LAvHHTt2czU&feature=related (takes only 14...

Obama Endorses Mosque Project Near Ground Zero Site

Religious freedom? No. But "separation of church and state?" Yes. Especially with the additional word Absolute put in front of that term, as a presidential candidate once did before the Houston Ministerial Alliance and is commended for it still today.

Obama Endorses Mosque Project Near Ground Zero Site

So much for "separation of church and state" if a group has to get a government permit to build; and have government inspectors coming in to look at materials, appliances, exits, et al.

"Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat"

I know this musical is more than 40 years old now, has been on and off and on Broadway, and still annually has many productions with local theater and churches. But considering some of the attitudes toward entertainment on this board, this is a poll to check out what we think about a biblical...
