    AI--What do you think?

So I'm not really sure what benefits there are in AI to our students. Let's say we visit one of our grads ten years from now, and he's a busy pastor. How will AI help him with his ministry?

    AI--What do you think?

When we oppose AI for our student, we are talking about using the AI of 2025-2026 on the Internet to write and/or help write their research papers and other assignments with AI accessible on the Internet: Google, Chat whatever, and so forth. We're not talking about AI used in writing code for...

Are there Fundamentalist Calvinist Baptists then?

They reject limited atonement, as do all Amyraldians. But they are an independent Baptist school, as I said, so that's their focus, and they don't worry about the Particular Baptists in general. I think they follow Lewis Sperry Chafer in this, the dispensational founder of Dallas Theological...

    AI--What do you think?

I understand this already Yes, of course, but I don't pay much attention to the AI info it puts up because it is so often mistaken. No, that's not what is currently said to be AI. I have used a word processor in English, Japanese, Greek, Hebrew and even Chinese for decades, and it has never...

    AI--What do you think?

Sorry, I'm not understanding this. Please explain. For example, how does the robotic AI help a student to have compassion?

    AI--What do you think?

Here is what the AI sermon generator also said when I had it create another sermon outline: Cautions for AI Sermon Generation: Lack of Heart: AI cannot feel or worship, potentially resulting in sermons that lack spiritual depth and personal conviction. Theological Accuracy: AI may mix orthodox...

    AI--What do you think?

Probably in 1970, too. I preached some sermons back in the day that I had written by hand. But here's the thing. A typewriter can't write the sermon notes for you! Here is an AI generated sermon. Not bad. But then I had to think zero minutes on it, so it's not really mine! I'd rather think, and...

    Well said.

    AI--What do you think?

Then there is the problem of plagiarism by AI. I've seen it many times. AI programmers currently don't know how to produce AI that doesn't plagiarize. As I say to my classes, plagiarism is lying and stealing. But AI at this time does not seem to have ethics programmed into it.

    AI--What do you think?

In short, I see AI as a wobbly crutch. :Cool

    Tripartite Sheol?

I'm not sure what is being asked of me here. What exactly would you like my thoughts on?

    AI--What do you think?

All of this is well and good, but I have seen Google AI make so many mistakes when a search is done. It scours the Internet and compresses what it finds, often with serious errors--but then as we know, the Internet is always right. :Biggrin I'm not convinced to the accuracy and helpfulness of...

    AI--What do you think?

I did too. Still have some of them. I treasure actual books. I haven't seen that happen yet. I have a lot of A students without AI. But for a research paper, they have to narrow down their topic, not increase it. This is a possible help in some college classes, but presentation is important...

    AI--What do you think?

Also, why is it the responsibility (if it is) of a Bible college to instruct the students in AI? Wouldn't that be part of a computer science curriculum rather than what we offer? Pastor, missionary, evangelist, church musician, teacher.

    AI--What do you think?

Okay, then, what benefits does AI have for a college student?

    AI--What do you think?

As a prof, I use Google a lot. It now has an AI summary at the beginning of your search. I have seen that summary to be mistaken a myriad of times! So, good colleges nowadays do not allow their students to use AI. This year we have instituted a statement that must come at the end of their papers...

    Tripartite Sheol?

Assuming we are still talking about Luke 16:23, then yes, "Hell" is the correct translation. The context makes the difference; it very clearly refers to a place of punishment for the rich man, and not just the place of the dead. The Louw-Nida lexicon says in the definition of ἁδης (hades), "It...

    Tripartite Sheol?

Thank you. That's a kind thing to say. I understand. Yes, so between the death of Christ and His bodily resurrection, His soul was in Hades, the "place of the dead." That does not mean it was in Hell, suffering like the rich man. The contexts of the two usages of the word is different. Yes, I...
