God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

You sound much like @Brightfame52. You both seem to think everything is about you. And neither of you actually read a post. What do you think "For the same reason he spoke to those he called "infants in Christ"." means Van. Read what Paul wrote not what you think he wrote.

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

For the same reason he spoke to those he called "infants in Christ". You really need to take the time to read a post and not just react. You have become a very difficult individual to deal with in the last few months. Are you having problems in your personal life?

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

To deny that was a work of God would take another level of denial.

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

Dave it seems to me that you are waffling between two views. You want God to determine all things but not those that make Him look bad. God is sovereign, that is not in question, and in His sovereignty He has given man a free will. Did God cause Christ to be crucified or did man in his free...

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

Dave that is the problem, unbelief. They knew the OT scriptures, they had seen and heard of the miracles and yet they continued to deny the truth. God let them strengthen themselves in their unbelief just as He had done with Pharaoh. Joh 12:28 "Father, glorify Your name." Then a voice came...

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

Van when you look at 1Co 1:2 "To the church of God which is at Corinth, to those who have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling,..." you see that Paul was writing to the church at Corinth, to believers. He even called them "infants in Christ". I think you are just confusing them...

Pro 1:22 "How long, O naive ones, will you love being simple-minded? And scoffers delight themselves in scoffing And fools hate knowledge?

A one liner theology has no depth BF. You avoid the hard questions as they show how shallow your religion is.

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

Still not dealing with the problem of your thinking BF? Look at the context of the verses in Job. How does it relate to what we are told in 1Ti 2:3-4?

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

How does Him creating sin and evil bring Him glory BF? You give simplistic answers rather than thinking things through. Your religion is built on one liners with no depth.

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

So as I said BF, since God desires all to be saved then why are not all saved. Your the one that keeps saying that what He desires has to come to fruition. What do you think 1Ti 2:3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 1Ti 2:4 who desires all men to be saved and to...

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

Then why does God judge men for something that they have zero control over? Remember it is your version of God that has determined all things BF. So He is judging men for what He has determined they will do. You have a really strange religion there BF.

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

So since according to you what ever God desires that is what He does. So why are not all saved? 1Ti 2:3 This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 1Ti 2:4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

Compatibilism is just another name for divine determinism since it contends that a person can act freely even though that action is determined by God. Hard determinism admits that because God determines all that happens, has unconditionally decreed all things ahead of time, human beings are not...

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

BF it say "you were dead in your trespasses and sins" vs 1 in other words separated from God. Then it continues " in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air," vs 2 It does not say they were totally depraved spiritually...

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

Bible does not say man is totally depraved spiritually BF. That is something that you read into scripture. True man cannot be saved by their own power. God has to draw men so it is good that He has chosen to draw all men to Himself via creation, conviction of sin, Christ Jesus etc. You say man...

The False Preacher vs. The True Gospel Preacher

Yes the false preacher says were were saved at the cross while the true gospel preacher will teach that while the sins of the whole world were cover we are only saved by the grace of God through faith in the risen Christ. Those that freely trust in Him will be saved those that chose to reject...

God hardens hearts that He claims would otherwise believe. Is this total depravity?

Total depravity is not the problem, it is that those of the C/R philosophy think total depravity actually means total inability. The whole philosophy is built around the idea of divine determinism.
