    Atonemet (Not PSA....my position)

Where are God's words in this post then? If you want to discuss Scripture, get on and post some instead of posting "Have you stopped beating your mother yet" posts.

    Atonemet (Not PSA....my position)

No. I go down this path when you break your own rules on the B.B. and call people heretics. It is something that you do when you are conscious of losing debates.

    Atonemet (Not PSA....my position)

Just to be clear: I have NEVER called anyone a heretic on any discussion forum, or even used the word, except possibly in a historical context. If one says that a certain belief is a heresy, one is ipso facto saying that anyone who believes it is a heretic.

Colossians 2:14 and the 'Record of Debt'

I've looked again at my comment here and I want to apologize for it. I did not at all mean to suggest that everyone who is against PSA is a Unitarian or JW, but that is probably how it came across. I do believe a higher level of Biblical proof is being demanded of PSA than is being asked of...

    Granddaughter needs prayer

I'm so sorry to hear this. Praying for you, Kylie and her parents. Life is so fragile. I can't imagine how I would be feeling if it was my grandson.

    Atonemet (Not PSA....my position)

It is always obvious when @JonC is losing the argument because he breaks his own rules as moderator and resorts to cheap shots and insults. By proclaiming PSA to be heresy, @JonC has also judged not only @DaveXR650 and myself to be heretics, but also John Bunyan, Charles Spurgeon and a host of...

Why Do Both Paul and Peter refer to The Jewish Foundation of the Church as a Nation

It appears that almost every extant Greek manuscript - the oldest as well as the vast mjority - include the word "when." However, I don't see that it makes much difference. 'Ye were Gentiles.' i.e. Ye are not Gentiles any more; so, as @kyredneck asked, what are they now? Rom. 2:28-29; Gal...

Colossians 2:14 and the 'Record of Debt'

    Whether it's a conversation-ender is up to you, but I don't think it's false.

Colossians 2:14 and the 'Record of Debt'

If you redeem something (or someone), you pay a price to get it back. Matt. 5:26. "Assuredly, I say to you, you will not get out of there untill you have paid the last penny." That [figuratively] is the price the Lord Jesus paid to get us out of hell. We were under a curse (v.10); Christ...

    Are Freewill and Predestination Compatable?

Of Free Will — The 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith Psalm 110:3; Jonah 2:9; Rev. 7:10. Take it from someone who was just as big a hooligan as you (except it was beer rather thn whiskey): God saved you. When you walk through the pearly gates, you will se a sign saying, "Whoever will may...

Colossians 2:14 and the 'Record of Debt'

You are correct that "pay" and "cancel" are not the same thing. But on what basis has the "certificate of debt" been cancelled? It has been cancelled because someone else has paid it off in full (Gal. 3:13; Isaiah 53:5).

    Worship Wars?

Exactly! Worship is towards God. It is not primarily for us, though no doubt God blesses us as we do it. Musical instruments are to keep us in time and pitch, not for anything else. We have two wonderful pianists at our church, but woe betide us if we come to church to hear them rather than...

Why Do Both Paul and Peter refer to The Jewish Foundation of the Church as a Nation

@JD731, I think that perhaps I understand the Abrahamic covenant better than you do. The covenant with Abraham is revealed to us in four stages:- 1. Gen 12:1-3. The covenant Announced. The word ‘covenant’ is not mentioned here but Peter in Acts 3:23 makes it clear that God’s initial...

    Atonemet (Not PSA....my position)

"You" are not the Judge of all the earth. Sinful human beings will sometimes forgive and sometimes not, but God is the righteous Judge and will always judge justly. Let us suppose for a moment a scene in court. Judge: "Prisoner at the bar, you have been found guilty on the clearest evidence of...

    It is Finished

Do you think there might have been a bit of purchasing or redeeming going on (Acts 20:28; 1 Cor. 6:20; 1 Peter 1:18-19)? N.B. Don't feel obliged to answer. I can well understand your desire to stay out of the melee.

    Atonemet (Not PSA....my position)

One vital point of the atonement is that something was bought and a price was paid. Acts 20:28. "Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the Church of God which He purchased with His own blood.' 1 Cor. 6:20, NKJV...

Is the KJV's rendering the most accurate in these ten passages?

Sorry to be pedantic, but you meant "starting with a vowel," I think. The unique thing about the KJV is that it also puts an "an" before a word beginning with "h" as in 'a just man and an holy.' What an horrible thing to do! :Laugh Actually, it's just what people used to do in the 17th Century.

'If My People.....' Part Four: Seeking God's Face

@Ascetic X, You are quite right. My point is that there seem to be many (in the UK, at any rate) who call themselves evangelicals but believe few or none of these things.

'If My People..... Part 5: Turning from Wicked Ways.

In the USA as in the rest of the world. Romans 15:4; 1 Cor. 10:11; 1 Peter 1:10-12.
