Love you, brother. And I say this in love.

I simply want us to condemn what is wrong. I also want us to pray in earnest for DJT. I want us to take Galations 6:7 to heart and really listen to what Scarlet said about judgement. Trump, as leader of this nation absolutely mocked God.

Trump should humbly admit he was wrong (he has not admitted anything - he just took down the image) and ask for forgiveness- that is not too much to ask.

I am adamantly pro-life and condemned Obama and Biden for their furtherance of abortion. My wife and I volunteer at the local pro life center.

I am also opposed to the LGBT movement and have preached against the sin of homosexuality from the pulpit.

I don't watch movies so I have no idea what Morgan Freeman did or did not do.

I worked and voted against both Biden and Obama.

Having said all that, when a man whom I voted for does something as terrible as mock God I WILL call it out. If that makes me a "pearl clutcher" so be it.

So did you apply this same "nothing makes me worry" defense to President Obama and President Biden?

Did you EVER ONE time speak negatively about them or did you publicly assert that they did not make you worry.

"Worry Ends Where Faith Begins". An accurate song by the Morrison Sisters.

We didn't even think for one second about closing our Church during Covid. We trust the Lord. Meanwhile, many churches of little faith, if faith at all, didn't trust the Lord.

Last I checked, the Lord my God is still Sovereign. God's Will Be Done.

For all the pearl clutchers out there over this image, I have a simple question for you - What do you want people to do in response to this?

Is it a litmus test for our spiritual condition, whether we publicly condemn this or not?
Do you want us to change our political views based on this? (Trump can't run for President again, so not sure what you want here)
Do you want Trump to admit it was wrong and take it down? (He did, but that apparently doesn't satisfy you)
Should Trump walk 50 miles barefoot in the snow and kneel down before Al Mohler declaring how sinful he is?

And yes, I'll go ahead and say it here, because someone will challenge me on the "pearl clutchers" designation. Are you as outraged over the equally blasphemous depictions portraying men like George Floyd, Barack Obama, and others with messianic overtones? What about the blasphemous depiction of God in movies and portrayed by the likes of Morgan "I am God" Freeman? Are you as outraged over the actions of those promoting and enriching themselves over the wholesale slaughter of millions of innocent children every year? Your tepid response to these things convinces me that your concerns here are only superficial. If only the pastors and church leaders would be as passionate about the gospel as they are their politics.
Jake, of course I'm a pearl clutcher over this! And the more I see and hear people defend President Trump over EVERYTHING, the tighter I clutch!

What I don't understand is the rest of your post. You claim that we who are bothered heavily by this and by his response that he just "didn't know it was making him look like Jesus" ........

A. ......are not bothered by abortion "have a tepid response to it".
B. .....are not bothered by other images and movies depicting black men as Messiahs
C. .....more concerned about politics than the gospel

I'm just asking you, you who are clutching YOUR pearls of condemnation of our opinion as hard as we do ours. to bring a link from the Baptist Board - from anywhere at anytime - where we who are unhappy with this are guilty of doing what you say. I'd like to see those posts.

I can only say what I want from this: I want President Trump to close his TruthSocial account where he puts the most nasty of things on for all to view. I want him to submit his life to Christ. I want the far left and the far right to just shut up.

You didn't answer my question.

My church didn't close its doors either. We did film the services and presented it online as we knew the elderly, the diabetics, the sick, and others did NOT need to be there. I personally know of 25 people who died in those months where times were bad. Did no one die of Covid where you live?

Yes I do. But had I lived in those days I would not have defended King Nebuchadnezzar at ALL!!! And the far right will defend Trump at every single slip he makes. He does no wrong in their eyes and that's what angers me so.
Not at all agreeing on that image, but if say President Obama had used exact same image, majority have accepting it as being 'spot on"

You are merely deflecting, trying to change the subject, while downplaying the blasphemous nature of the Trump as Jesus the healer image.

Your attitude of “When Trump does something clearly sacrilegious, it’s not a big deal” is coming through loud and clear.

When you couple this disgusting image with Trump’s Easter tweet using the F word and saying “praise be to allah,” there is a serious spiritual and mental issue going on.

One thing that needs to happen is the removal of Paula White-Cain from being the lead in the White House Faith Office and from her role as chief spiritual advisor to Trump. That needs to be done by Trump.

This is exactly the mindset I am addressing.
Defending someones actions is not the same as saying someone is overreacting.
It is not "defending" someone to ask to take into consideration a mea culpa.

Then you proceed to put words in my mouth. Go back and read what I wrote. If this picture causes you to be this publicly outraged but at the same time you have a much more measured response to the other atrocities, you are a hypocrite. I don't say that this is you Scarlett, or anyone else on this board - examine yourself in this regard. Also, I did not use the word "bothered." A fly buzzing around my head "bothers" me. I did not say anyone was "more concerned" about politics than the gospel. I have seen many from the pulpits speak of the gospel as if they were reading an engineering textbook, but speak with soul fire about politics, and this specific instance I have seen much of the same.

Now I ask regarding your goals in expressing outrage - how do you think your BB forum posts are going to effect this change?

And….. we are spending a lot of energy and focus on this… instead of a stalling war with Iran…. Rising gas prices… inflation…

Calculated????

Peace to you

I do not believe DT was attempting to portray himself as Jesus. He denies it, and I’ll accept that. There is no reason to attribute the worst possible motives to this man.

He, most likely, considers himself to be a saint (many saints healed the sick) and sought to project that image.

He is probably petitioning the Pope for Sainthood.

“Saint Donald the prosperous, patron Saint of making America great again”

Has a nice ring to it.

BTW, I agree the image is horrid, whatever the motive.

Peace to you

I'll answer your question when you answer mine. Where are the BB posts you are talking about? You made several accusations about the "pearl clutchers." Where are those posts? When you can show those posts where those of us who are not happy with this are indifferent about abortion, I will answer YOUR question.

Better yet, I'll just let you all have this thread. I will never understand - ever - the constant running to President Trump's defense over everything he does. And something like this? It's beyond my comprehension. If you think for one minute he actually thought he REALLY thought he was being shown as a doctor, I can't help you.

He needs the Lord. America needs the Lord.

During the election - some people on the far right said nasty, pornographic, and hateful things about Kamala Harris. Facebook, BB [things I had to delete] and many other places. Yet the same people won't allow ONE question about his actions. Not ONE.

Ya'll just keep defending him. I'm out.

Won't shock me at all. I for one, won't be praying to him.

Question #1: First of all, it's not a defense. It's my Faith. Shame on you for loading the question.
Answer to Question#1: Absolutely. I trust the Sovereignty of God.

Answer to Question #2: I discern that the modern Democrat Party's Agenda, of whom Obama and Biden represent, are pure evil. I have not, nor do not, fear them, nor worry about them. I openly and boldly oppose them. Just as I oppose the Popes. And of course, I speak and have spoken against Satanic Agendas. I contend for the Faith, in accordance with the directive in the book of Jude.

Your "question" is putting words in my mouth that I never uttered; ascribing positions to me that I never claimed, and addressing accusations that I never made. I asked if people who are expressing so much outrage also have the same expressions of outrage to other imagery or to actions that are as bad or worse than this picture. I do not need anyone to proclaim here that they are indeed incensed regarding these things; I simply ask for us all to have some introspection of what we allow to drive our passions.

I have not once defended the posting of the picture, or the generation of the picture (which from what I understand was originally generated by a pastor, something that should be far more disturbing than it being reposted by an egotistical irreverent politician). I do however feel that there are many things happening that are far more worthy of outrage than this that too many Christians stay silent over.

And pardon me for being a bit pedantic here, but too many people are blinded by emotion over this - You can call out the nature or this picture, you can call out for it to be taken down, you can call for an apology even, without the judgement of the heart of the man. You can take great offense at the picture and at the same time admit that its removal is a positive step. It is not an either/or situation where you have to stake your claim of "I now hate Trump and all that he is" or "Trump is always right and I have to defend everything he does."

No Jon what I am saying is that you seem to be ignoring what the pictures shows.
You misunderstood.

I am saying that the picture IS blasphemous. In fact, I posted that several times. As I look more carefully at it more problems with it comes up.

I did not see the lady to the left praying at first. Initially I did not recognize what Trump was wearing as an ancient Jewish robe (at first glance it looked to me as an old fashioned night shirt). What I saw as wrong was more supernaturally the image of healing the sick.

But that was at first glance. AND at forst glance I saw it as blasphemous. I took your suggestion and looked closer and AGREED it is even more blasphemous.

You are ignoring what I posted.

I NEVER SAID THE IMAGE WAS ANYTHING BUT BLASPHEMOUS.

What I said was about Trump's perception between the time he viewed the image and posted it.

Unlike you, I do not know if Trump studied the image or merely glanced at it before he posted it.

Unlike you, I do not know how Trump perceived the picture.

Unlike you, I do not know how carefully Trump considered the elements of the image.

Unlike you, I do not know if Trump was dealing with other issues when he came across the image and merely posted it or if he had it designed.

I am not sure, however, that the absolute certainty you have about your divine ability to know the mind of Trump is any less blasphemous than the image. Both serm pretty anti-Christian to me.

I do need to warn you (and your supporters on this post).

I said several times (in EVERY post I made on this thread) that I believe the image is blasphemous.

You engaged in dishonesty with the quoted remark. That is just as anti-Christian as is the image.

We were not arguing about the image. I did say that I did not recognize some elements, and even now I do not know if it is supposed to be a collage or single image. That is not ignoring the image. I view the image as blasphemous, and stated so.

My statement is that being less than God I am not omniscient. I have no idea how Trump took the image, if he glanced at it or studied it, what was going through his mind, etc.

You seem to believe you have been gifted the power to know the intention and thoughts of Trump.

I cannot absolutely claim that you lack that power, but I do. I can only go by facts.
