Also I should add- I am speaking from my presonal experiences here. I was not raised in a Christian home. I struggled with- let's just say- "morality issues" before I was saved and even after. It took the Lord a long time to teach me to be responsible for myself and my attitudes towards the opposite sex.
And praise the Lord. All men have to deal with this.
I have no problem with pastors teaching what they feel they should in regard to standards for their church, but they have no right to dictate the standards of my family. That's MY job.
The church should be a support for families not try to over ride them. Having said that the leadership should oversee standards within the church eg church functions.
I go to the 'Nth degree' now to train my eyes to look a woman in the eyes and forbidding that to look skyward or otherwise. And I still fail sometimes (you can nod your head in understanding here if you are honest). I work at a secular college part-time and it is tough. But God's grace and His Spirit help me to overcome.
Every mans battle dude. (Did I just say dude?)
