I’m not watching, I figured it would just enrage me after witnessing what they did to Kavanaugh. Sounds like Cruz was just humanizing her. He knows, & we know she is eminently qualified, so let’s have a look at the real person those on the left are trying to destroy. Good choice. Let the public see the person as a person, & witness her treatment by the left.
It's not near as bad. Except for the political pandering from the Democrats and Cruz it has been interesting (no one has been rude).

I've enjoyed listening to Barrett's answers, which is why I was getting aggravated with Cruz. But with the Democrats, I have to say she can hold her own (probably better than Kavanaugh).

Well.....lets see how she does once they start accusing her of gang rape

Looks like they are trying to be very careful not to get too negative with her. The Democrats use much of their time to spout political agendas not related to the hearing, and when they ask anything meaningful they are not outlandish. I was waiting for Harris.

:Laugh:Laugh Here it is.....Barrett spoke of not discriminating on people due to "sexual preference". Hirono said the term "sexual preference" is a derogatory term Barrett used on purpose to demean the LBGQ community.

And a complaint against Fox News....the idiots can't keep their mouths shut. This is the third time I had scramble to change to CSPAN because they wanted to introject their commentary.

I like FOX News. But sometimes they need to shut up.

Democrats try to needle her to see if they can stir up something bad for their base to run with. It is all political drama, they have failed. They really failed with Kavanaugh, and still some of them want him impeached. They are also threatening Lindsey Graham

Fox is a dumpster fire except for Tucker, Dobbs, Laura I, & have to drag along their little buddy, Hannity, & Gutfeld is amusing. I miss catching Charles Payne on Fox B, because they moved him to afternoons. Tucker is now the rock star of all television news. Fearless. Ever since Fox put Paul Ryan on the board, bad news for Fox viewers.

Barrett spoke of not discriminating on people due to "sexual preference". Hirono said the term "sexual preference" is a derogatory term Barrett used on purpose to demean the LBGQ community.

ACB then apologized for using the term. While I understand sexual orientation being messed up by The Fall, sexual activity is indicative of a preference.

I expected Senator Hirono to be the toughest questioner based on interviews of her after ACB was nominated, but her questioning was within proper bounds. Remember, politics ain’t beanbag.

I disagree, @Steven Yeadon . I like Ted Cruz but he just took the platform to pull what Whitehouse just did...ramble on about party politics. He asked Barret a few questions - Do you know a foreign language? Do you play a musical instrument? Why did you choose to adopt? That was it. NOTHING to do with the hearing.

I expected this from the Democrats. I have to say Feinstein did a good job of asking questions (better than Cruz).

The problem with Congress is everything is about party politics and topics for hearings are rarely addressed. This is also happening here.

Of course it is about 'politics'. What else would it be about?

Cruz has the...guts to say what many won't say. My hat is off to him.

And you think Feinstein is not about party politics? Please.

I expect opinions such as yours from liberal democrats. So, are you?

I think that Hirono depended too much on speaking to her support and emotional appeal. She looked a bit dumb (maybe it was due to Barrett's responses, but I think it was just her emotional appeals after so many posters being put up).

I thought Feinstein was the better so far of the Democrats. She was firm but not rude and took into account what was actually being said.

And I never heard "sexual preference" as being a bad term. I think science demonstrates it can be a preference but perhaps it can also be a trait.

You should watch it if it enrages you. You should be enraged. Hiding does nothing.

I know it's about politics because it's in the Senate (the Senate and Congress are way too political). And Feinstein is also about politics (obviously).

My complaint is I want to see what the candidate has to say and explain her positions.

Do you really thing the best questions to ask a candidate in a confirmation hearing is "Do you know any foreign languages? Do you play a musical instrument? Why did you choose to adopt?"

I like Cruz but he (like most all of the Democrats) misused the format.

No, Cruz did not misuse the format. Barret is under fire and put in an extremely stressful position with wolfs circling.

Of course Cruz is a friend as she is conservative. Such questions he presented help relieve the stress. She knows she is not alone up there. And that is important.

Do you think anyone is really going to make a decision for Barret based on these hearings? Please. If so, I got some land just 100 miles west of San Diego for sale. Every one already knows how they are going to vote. The left is looking for a mistake. A buzzword they can use to demonize with.

Is that you?

I agree. All of the Senators should be asking to-the-point questions, not making speeches or taking an excessively long time to get to the point of asking a question.
