OldRegular specifically used the word hate. I have never seen anyone use that word. To claim that someone or some group hates a person is quite a charge, and if this is so obvious, OldRegular should have no trouble showing us where this was written.

Many conservative evangelicals think that anyone who critizes the president or his policies hates him.
Yet the same people become enraged if someone dares to make an observation about them that they perceive as an attack. Look at the initial reaction from Pat Robertson when it was revealed what he said about Chavez. He made the ridiculous claim that the statements were taken out of context. When it was shown that he did indeed speak of assassination, he then offered an apology.

They may think it, C4K, but that certainly does not lend validity to the claim.

Besides, I am only asking for proof. It this is not bearing false witness, then it really shouldn't be that hard.......

God's Blessings to you, your family and your ministry C4K,
BiR

You don't really think anyone on this forum is going to admit to "hating" any other person, do you? Even if true.

Because he does not claim to have embraced Jesus in a single moment, aides said, Bush does not call himself "born again." Nor does he refer to himself as an evangelical, though evangelical leaders do not hesitate to claim him as one of their own.
From Aslanspal's link.

Over the course of that weekend, Reverend Graham planted a mustard seed in my soul, a seed that grew over the next year. He led me to the path, and I began walking. It was the beginning of a change in my life.I had always been a "religious" person, had regularly attended church, even taught Sunday School and served as an altar boy. But that weekend my faith took on a new meaning. It was the beginning of a new walk where I would commit my heart to Jesus Christ.
From Saltcitybaptist's link.

So he doesn't call himself "born again" and he wrote in his book he would commit his heart to Jesus...not that he did. I don't see anywhere in these links provided so far where George Bush openly proclaims Jesus Christ as his saviour.

Jesus Christ has told us:

John 13:34. A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.

John 13:35. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

John 15:12. This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

John 15:17. These things I command you, that ye love one another.

Obviously there are some democrats out there who do not agree with President Bush's policies but that is irrevelant to the command of Jesus Christ.
Professing to love Jesus with your lips is different from actually loving Jesus with your lips and actions. Bush does not show his fruit. He claims to know Jesus but his actions do not show it.

This whole discussion is itself fruitless. Since nobody on this board personally knows Bush I doubt any of us can have a true knowledge of his Christian walk (or lack there of). Therefore all claims that Bush, "does not show his fruit. He claims to know Jesus but his actions do not show it", is itself fruitless. The same will be said for those who claim Bush is a godly Christian...we just don't know. It all could be a show to win votes, or it could be real. Only Bush, his family, and God know the truth. Not us.

However anyone who hates Bush, or anyone else, is not a Christian. Rather that person is in darkness and is self-decieved (1Jn 3:14-15).

Martin.

Considering how many Christians, even on the Baptist Board, question the walk of Billy Graham with Christ Jesus, it is no wonder that people on this board would question George W. Bush's walk with Christ Jesus. It wouldn't surprise me if the apostle Paul was alive on earth today that there would be Christians who question his walk with Christ Jesus.

Nope, sorry:
YOU introduced the word "hate" with this discussion. Now it is up to YOU to produce any quotes where someone specifically used the word "hate" to describe their feelings for President Bush.

Now kindly show us where anyone (other than YOU) used the word "hate." Hey: you started this discussion.

I am not going to scroll through endless posts just to find the word "hate" to satisfy you. It is obvious to anyone who is the least perceptive that there are a lot of Bush Haters on this Forum.

His kingdom is the church and you are correct, it is not a democracy as Christ Jesus is King. \o/

This, of course, is so true. However, where we are right now has politics. We can't ignore the political world around us. We need to support what's right and speak out against what's wrong. AND I'm not saying that those things fall along party lines.

Exactly!

One can "hate" the policies of the Administration, and I hate almost all of them, without hating the man. I hated Bill Clinton's sexual escapades in the Oval Office, too, but I do not hate him. There IS a difference.

We can respect the office of POTUS but that does NOT necessarily mean we have to respect the man presently in the office. And yes, now, thanks to BC's escapades and everything being blabbed about sexual stuff all over the world, on the internet, etc., there's a disrespect for the office now that never used to be there to this degree.

When people are elected, they are supposed to do the will of the electorate - they are supposed to do their jobs.

I HATE the fact that this President and this Republican majority Congress have let down this Republic since 09/11 by not enforcing our immigration laws. I really HATE it.

I really HATE that Bush has said Muslims worship the same God as we do - I really HATE that.

I HATE the Road Map from Hell that rewards terrorists in Israel by giving them land.

I HATE the fact that we went to war without a post-war plan.

I HATE the fact that so many "brilliant" people in government were snookered by faulty intelligence and went to war without hard evidence.

I HATE the fact that our government and intelligence did little to nothing to prevent 09/11 from happening.

I HATE the fact they still really don't take it seriously enough to do what is necessary, but not politically correct - by booting out the terrorists from among us.

I HATE the fact that people in this administration and their relatives are profiting off of the war and lining their pockets with riches.

I HATE the fact there are people who have been in business with the House of Saud for decades and they will not take a firm stand to cut off the funding for worldwide terrorism.

I HATE the fact that terrorists have been invited to and have visited the White House of the people of these United States.

I HATE the fact that American jobs continue to be shipped overseas in quest of the corporate almighty dollar.

I HATE the fact that even with a Republican majority Congress and Republican Administration, we are still butchering unborn babies by the thousands every day in this country.

There's a lot I hate about our corrupt government. That does not mean I hate any individual in the government, but yes, I HATE some of their actions and inactions. I HATE their lies. I HATE their greed. I HATE their corruption. From BOTH major political parties.

But above all, I HATE the fact there is really nothing the citizens can do about it except voice their opinions, because it's been that way for so long now, it's a runaway train. And one day, all voices of dissent will be squashed. Only some voices of dissent are squashed now.

Power corrupts.

I understand, but I have a hard time separating the government from the people it is composed of. The government is not an entity in and of itself, it is people.

It reminds me of corporation haters. They say the same thing , but a corporation or a government are not capable of evil on their own. It's the people that run them that do evil things.

I believe that , if you hate everything the government does, you have to deal with the fact that you may also be hating the people that have been placed in charge of the government.

Just another perspective on hate.

Other than hating sin and its consequences I'm not sure that a Christian should harbor any hate at all. In fact, I don't that he/she should.
