I expect to lose power later today. We're already having heavy rain and 36 MPH winds.

Remember ROY who is actually IN Mobile.

One of our daughters' friend lives in Mobile, Alabama, and she sent an email about the way they fled to the North/West two days prior. How she was wrapping up valuables and placed them in a closet, or "under the bed," hoping that they will be there when they will get back home.

We have seen the miles and miles of automobiles trying to escape the path of hurricane Ivan. Our heart goes out for those folks who were caught in the path of this destructive force. My wife and I are in prayer several times a day for safety of the Lord as the hurricane makes its way to mainland USA.

Good morning all! May your day be secure in the loving arms of God! [IMG]

Sue, thanks for the good news about little Courtney! We shall continue to be in prayer about her complete recovery. [IMG]

    Good morning to all.

Still excessively busy - and not much time to post. Thinking about you folks who are in the path of Ivan.

Our son Kelly is going to go through the ordination process this Saturday!

It ought to be lots of fun.

Cheryl's family lives in P'Cola. 2 trees crashed in her mom's house, but no one was injured. Her sisters car was totaled when a giant tree smashed into it, flattening it. Have not heard from her brother or 2 step sisters. Cheryl and I met P'Cola and have many friends there.

Hello all! We made it thru the storm fine. We really only got the outter portion of the storm. It was very windy, and there was some rain, but it was a lot less than we expected. Not any significant damage in our community. I havent been able to reach my mother in Mobile, and I am about to try again in a minute.

Hubby is coming home in two days (unless the New Orleans airport is still closed for some readon.) We are excited. The girls plan on making a big sign for the door. And us wives of the fellas on the mission trip are planning to have a big shrimp and snow crab dinner waiting on them.

    Well, have a good day!

Hi All! Prayer Needed! We have had a number of tornado's spotted all around us but no known deaths so far. Lots of damage. Our town has opened a shelter for those who've lost their homes or electric. The rainfall is estimated at 7-8 inches already!

Sheila and Rob are supposed to be at the airport. Jim came from work to take them but he's not made it to work. Now the airport says 2 1/2 hours minimum delays. They have 10 who will be at the airport tonight and we've asked them to be sure and let us know if they get stranded. Between us and some church members, we'll be able to house and feed them all. Sheila and Rob will vouch for the warmth of our 1100 member First Baptist Church!

If you EVER get a chance to meet this wonderful, loving and precious couple..... do NOT let that chance pass you by!

All my children are gone home. There was no school today nor tomorrow... and Nick and I have to stay in the basement. It got way too hot so we came up for a cooling down time and to check the weather on t.v.

Php 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

    God Bless!

Good day to fly a kite here; no rain yet, but they say it's coming. Funny thing: my brother in Georgia called last night and said if we needed a place to evacuate to, we could come there...NOT! [IMG]

I just checked the airport conditions and Rob and Sheila are now pushed back to 8:11 BUT no flights (Airtran) have landed since early today and their party was to come in from Fla.

Oh Dear! Just checked and their flight was cancelled but the final flight of the night is now pushed back to 11:10. We sure hope they'll call us if they're stranded!

Oow. Sounds like its gonna be a long night for them.

Talked with my family in Mobile. All are w/out power, but thats the worst of it. They are thankful. My 3 year old had heard all the news reports about power outages, and she said she was disappointed that ours didn't go out. We had gathered all the the flashlights and candles (and lighted toys) before the storm, so we turned out the lights and pretended tonight. We ate a "hurricane" supper of Vienna sausages, canned pineapple, crackers, and graham cracker sticks by candlelight.
I am very thankful that we DO have power, but we did have fun tonight.
Hubby called from Mexico. They gave out 5000 Bibles since Monday in the mountainous poor part of the city they are in. Had some professions of faith as well. I am glad they have had such a great trip, but I am READY for my feller to come home!!!

They've not called so I'm praying they and their friends can be on the flight in about 45 mins. and that it's a safe flight.

Glad to hear your hubby is on his way home soon Tater Tot.

Well boys and girls.... I'm heading off to bed. The winds have died down to less than 50 mph and our tornado watch has been lifted. I had the kids most of the day since there was no school and will have all but my toddler (the 5:30 a.m. cutie) tomorrow.

Sheila (Followinghim) will tell you what a precious child he is! He is a JOY!

    Night all!

For you know that God paid a ransom to save you from the empty life you inherited from your ancestors. And the ransom He paid was not mere gold or silver. 19 He paid for you with the precious lifeblood of Christ, the sinless, spotless Lamb of God. 20 God chose Him for this purpose long before the world began, but now in these final days, He was sent to the earth for all to see. And He did this for you.
    1 Peter 1:18

    Good morning all:

It sounds like the storm is playing havoc in a LOT of places! No rain forecast here, but we had a 'gullywasher' Wednesday night while we were at church!

It is a cool 54º here this morning with an expected high of 76º. The forecast is calling for a low of 47º tonight!!!

I slept well last night, but couldn't sleep in this morning. Brent has his appointment, with the Urologist, at 8:45 this morning and I think it was on my mind. I am not working on the 'corner' today and Brent is not going to school.

    Off to check other forums,

We've remembered Brent in prayer this morning and will be waiting for the report.

I slept 9 hours! I have kids all day today since school is cancelled but just the 2 sisters until 1:00 when the little boy and his older sister come over. The girls are leaving early for a wedding out of state too. Ty's mom has off Friday's so I didn't have to be up at 5!!!

I see that Sheila and Rob flew out after 12:30 last night so what an awful experience for them! They fly back to England late tonight and arrive early a.m. England time. My one thought is that this mess up will make them tired enough that they may be back on England time body wise by time their plane lands!

    Good Morning Everyone.

I hope everyone is ok. The storms here are affecting so many people and I pray that for all those concerned will be kept safe.

We arrived back in NC safely and eventually fell into bed at 3.13 am this morning. We have to be back at the airport for check in at 3.34 pm this afternoon.

Rob and I have been so blessed with this wonderful opportunity to travel in this beautiful country and we have met and fellowshipped with some wonderful Christians. It was so good to meet with Gayla and her children and we really appreciate her undertaking that long journey so that we could meet up.

Diane and Jim are lovely hosts and we immediately felt at home with them, and Nick is such a super young man. It was truly a special time of sharing and fellowship for us in Georgia. Yes, Diane's church is very warm, friendly and loving and it was our first opportunity to experience a Wednesday evening service here in the U.S. We are taking some very special memories back home to the U.K.

Muffins for breakfast here today, can't pass that up !! LOL. I expect I won't be able to post now until we are back in England. I hope you all have a great day,

    God Bless

Okay, we are back from the doctor. He said surgery was needed ASAP. I was grateful that the exam wasn't too painful for Brent.

Good news - surgery will be done as an out-patient.

Bad news - it will have to be done at the hospital in Springfield (30 miles away)!

We are to have an initial appointment with a 'Pediatric Urologist' in Springfield next week and he will then set up the appointment for surgery.

Please be in prayer for Brent as he is a little uneasy about the surgery and be in prayer for me (agoraphobia) so I can get him there!

We are off to get Brent his 5th grade 'shot' and pick up Dale's birthday present.

    TTFN!

Sheila - I'm so glad you had a good experience on your vacation!

Nothing new to say here today. So see yall later!

Good Morning, everyone! I hope all are safe!

I had bad dreams after watching the pictures of what the Hurricane did to the US Coast. We were also concerned about our relatives in Alabama. They are fine! PTL!

We need rain. Isn't that ironic? The State Fair opened yesterday and usually, we get lots of rain during Fair time, but I don't think so this year. Fair goers appreciate that!

Sue, praying for you and Brent! Having to deal with Surgery for a child is bad enough without the fear of getting them there. May the Lord comfort you and give you strength. Remember your favorite Bible verse!
