Evening all:

I just received this email from Kathi Hoover (Courtney's mother). PTL!!!

Hey, we are home and Courtney is doing great!

She is walking AND talking (still has difficulty forming some words). The right hand is still having some motor difficulties as well, due to where the damage was on the left side of the head (this controls speech and motor functions of the right side).

But she is on her way to full recovery due solely to the Lord. I appreciate all the prayers.

Please let everyone know how much we deeply appreciate (from the bottom of our hearts) keeping her and our family in their prayers. It's definitely a miracle!!!
Kathi and family
PTL AGAIN!!!

Brent and I just got home from the "Railsplitter" festival at the fair grounds. It cost me $2.00 to get in - Brent was free.

Brent had never seen a rodeo and they had a FREE one in front of the grandstand so that's why we went.

The rodeo was good and I was very impressed when the announcer said a prayer after the National Anthem and before the rodeo actually started. I could tell it was from the heart and not a 'pat' prayer.

Well, I am off to bed. 3:30 comes early and we are having our 4th annual Red/White/Blue Sunday at church tomorrow, where we honor our local firefighters, paramedics, and policeman. A lot of them attend that are not saved. We have a potluck afterwards.

Pleasant dreams all!

Good Night Sue, God Bless.

Hello Jim,

How are you ? I am used to not sleeping to much, although I have to say that while in the U.S. I was sleeping better than usual. I think that the air quality was far better and also it was so quiet and peaceful too. No sirens or big lorries roaring past the house.

I expect we will soon be back into our
routine.

How are you keeping Jim?

Blessings

Sheila

Boy Howdy. Getting ready to turn in after a full day. Went to the beach, the fishing pier, shopping, Krispy Kreme; then after a short break to clean up to second service at Saddleback, then to the Spectrum for California Pizza and Ferris Wheel rides! I'ma one tired Gumpa.

Good Morning All:

I went to bed at midnight and got up at 4:00 to do the papers. I've GOT to start getting to bed earlier!

I am off to take my shower and get ready for church. Then I will sit in the recliner and (hopefully) doze off for a bit.

See you all this afternoon.

Have a blessed day in the Lord!

Good Afternoon all, we're home from church and finished with our lunch. Dishes are done and I'm already thinking of a nap! Tomorrow is an early morning for me.

Hope this finds all well. We're having beautiful fall weather here! We'd planned to go apple picking but the orchard in Elijay had so much damage that they will try to reopen by NEXT weekend.

Jim has off today so he's enjoying a ballgame of some sort.

We had missionaries speak today. It doesn't feel like 'church' without a preaching.... This husband and wife team come once a year while on a 6 week break.

Just popping in to say good night and ask for prayer for Shawna. She was admitted to the hospital today with either CELLULITIS or OSTEOMYELITIS.

Pleasant dreams all!

Good morning all:

Headache is gone!

I turned the lights off in here last night and back on this morning - what's up with thaaaaaaat?

A cool 52º here this morning heading for a high of 81º with plenty of sunshine.

Going to take a quick run around the board before waking the 'boys' up.

I will be going to the hospital to visit Shawna after I finish on 'the corner'.

Good morning all! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend, and being in the house of the Lord refreshed you adequately to face the world in this new week of grace.

I stand corrected about having no water coming into our basement with the remnant water fall of Ivan the Terrible. :( We were not able to go out to our house because of the flood on several major highways. The rain came in two bands. But we had a man working out there and reported that he collected four large bucket-full of water from our basement. It was entering in three places along the westerly wall. We may have to put down there black top (extending our driveway), so that it would not happen again.

P.S. My wife's older brother (he is 82) and his wife will be coming to the US this afternoon/evening. They will stay with us for three weeks. Pray that we do not run out of energy, and be able to entertain them.

(Edited only to correct spelling of name. I don't think Barnabas would like to be called Barabas!)

Oh, I am sooo sorry.
Put it down to jet lag. That's my excuse and I am sticking to it.

Rob says it could also be a senior moment now that I have reached 50.

Thanks Sue for spotting that

Morning all, It's still only 55 but was 51° earlier this a.m.! I LOVE it! Ty fell back asleep and I had some fitful sleep/ wake cycles until almost 9 a.m. Such weird dreams!

Jim's getting ready for work and I'm having a cup of tea while I wait for MY turn in the shower.

Ty's quietly eating some Goobee Boo cereal and watching Thomas the Tank Engine. The cereal is actually Apple Jacks but there's a picture of Scooby Doo on the box so.... He looks so cute today in his farmer overalls.

Nick's not even dressed. I think that boy would wear his jammies all day if I'd let him! Most days he doesn't put on a shirt or shoes until late afternoon before we pick up the other kids. He's like me and loves the chill in the air.

Off to check the board.

Don't worry Sheila, I am not bothered by name calling... I have been called by many names over the years.... and all of them by professed Christians.

The namecalling was started with Barabbas, Barabus, Barnabus, Barjesus, and so on, and so on.

P.S. Glad you made it home safe!

Good morning to all.

How are all my southern friends - who suffered through Francis and Ivan doing?

We got a little over 2 1/2 inches of rain last Thursday and Friday - but seem not to have suffered much from it.

Saw all the grandchildren over the weekend - that's always fun. Though I don't think that i would adapt well to having children from newborn to six around me all the time - I sure do enjoy having them around!

We are hoping to arrange to go and see Cathy, Rob and co and meet our newest grandaughter, Morgan Victoria. I can't wait.

Did you take lots of photos of your special weekend?

Hope we will see pix of YOUR granddaughter, Sheila!

Boy Howdy to all from SoCal. Lazy day today, trying to recoup strength and energy for the long drive home. Getting pix developed, seeing my son at work (he had Fri-Sun off which was GREAT), putting aloe on my sunburn, and buying some stuff for the kids to make their life here a little better.

God bless all and have a great Monday!
