Hi All! Sue!! Wonderful News! Praise the Lord!
We're just in and settling for the night! Rob and Sheila went to the mall this afternoon and then I picked them up just before going to the two schools for the children. It was raining so many parents were in line. It got home extra late, had to help 4 children with their homework, cook for the 6 children plus us adults and then got the dreaded 'Can't teach Cubbies tonight because my child is sick'. Loaded them all up, dropped two at their home and then off to church. We went to Wal-Mart after church and found it PACKED. Two men bumped into each other and almost fought over it.
So... school has been cancelled for tomorrow and maybe Friday because of the storm. We're very concerned that Rob and Sheila will get stranded in Atlanta and miss their Friday flight back to England. I wouldn't mind them staying!! Just don't want them to lose money!
What else? Oh well.... I was able to call on several moms to help us out and we had two teen girls and a dad to help with listening and bookwork for our Cubbies so the night went really well. Sheila and Rob then got to meet our Hispanic Ministers wife.. LOL... who couldn't understand them or ME when we were talking about the hurricane. We all pronounced it differently.
FUNNY THING!
The first day Sheila and Rob were here and I went to pick up the children I reminded the kids of our British visitors. One 9 year old asked.. 'Do they say Ta Ta, Cheerio Old Chap' and I replied that they did have a different accent than us and used words like 'torch' for flashlight.
WELL later that afternoon, Brooke (5) asked Sheila to 'say cereal'.
We finally figured out that she wanted her to say 'Ta Ta, Cheerio'. LOLOLOL At supper tonight, Brooke said to Sheila ... 'Y'all shore do tawlk funny'.
And with that.... I'm off to bed! Only 5 hours sleep LAST night and Ty will be here in 6 hours PLUS I'll have all the children since there is no school!
We're planning a 'hurricane party' tho. Nick and I have quite the ideas. Track the storm...., make pinwheels...., punch, veggies, snacks galore and we even have a Christian movie about a storm (McGee and Me).
Do pray Rob and Sheila are able to fly safely. I'm concerned since the major portion is to hit late afternoon and their flight out of here is after 5 p.m.
Night all...
Cereal!
