COMMON GROUND COFFEE HOUSE #74

Morning,

I'll even put a fresh pot of coffee on and turn on the kettle.

Both of my names come from Methodist preachers, so I guess that is kind of neat!

Morning Roger and all who rise later:

My rest didn't last NEAR long enough! Maybe I will be lucky enough to sneak in a short nap sometime today.

It is 34º right now with an expected high of 45º and an 50% chance of rain, then another 1/4 of an inch overnight. YUCK!

The temps are getting slightly warmer in the daytime, but now we have the rain all week...

Thanks Gayla, If I'd been able to get the nurse to read the letter to me, I think I would have been able to better understand what it means. She DID say it did not use the word suspicious, diagnostic mammogram, special mammogram but just 'a better view' of the right breast which leads me to believe the tech didn't squish it right. Also, like you mentioned, I wouldn't be on 'the list' to call if something had been found that didn't look right. At least I know for sure that the left is fine and most of the right has been found 'fine'. What are the chances that the small area the view missed just happens to not be 'fine'? Miniscule!

Lobster! I LOVE lobster! Wish I could afford one here. We got them for $1.49 a pound in Ct. We'd buy the culls (one claw). The smaller ones, at about 1 -2 pounds, are the best. Larger ones can be chewy.

Sue, I took NyQuil before bed. My sinus drainage and stuffiness was bad enough and I figured the alcohol would help me sleep through Jim's coughing spells. I slept really well. I heard his clock but went right back to sleep until 7:15. My boys are still sleeping.

I don't have Ty again until next Monday and only have Jack (2 years old) while his mother goes to the doctor this Thursday. Max will only be 3 afternoons this week. Pay wise, I'm down, but I'm getting some spring cleaning done and we're doubling up on some of Nick's school work since some days are too quick and easy.

Good Morning everyone!

It's a bright sunshiney morning here. That's all about to change. We have a nice line of thunderstorms aimed at us today. They say we have to watch out for tornados. Let's hope not.

Diane, ditto on the spring cleaning. Yesterday I cleaned out most of T's corner in the living room(what a mess) and cleaned most of the extra stuff out of the library. Today, I'm just going to do general housekeeping stuff and if the storms don't knock me out of it, I'll work on Bitsy's dress(yeah, I know I've been saying that for a while now). After all the lifting I did yesterday, I'm afraid to do anything heavy today. I don't want to mess my back up again.

See ya later....

Morning all:

Viv made me take some sinus pills yesterday when she came home. They did help alleviate some of the coughing and sinus pressure. I coughed all the way until bedtime. We were in bed by 8:30pm, and I was up again at 11:30pm, coughing and hacking away. Sneezing wasn't fun either! I sneezed 21 times in a row and went through half a roll of toilet tissue blowing my nose while doing so. Viv got up at 2am and said "If you're not better by the time I get home, or even better than that, by noon when I call for lunch, you're going to the doctor as a walk-in, even if we have to stay til 9pm! PERIOD!"
Then she made me take the last Allegra we had left. I'm doing a bit better with that. I went back to bed at 5am and was awakened by Haynes Plumbing and Electrical at 6:50am...they're already working and banging at the house next door! I could use a pellet gun about now!

Diane, I may have Vivian get me some NyQuil! Of course, if she stops by the liquor store and buys some Jack Daniels, she could make me a hot toddie! ;)

Supposed to have some severe storms here today, and the clouds ARE growing kind of ominous! We're under a tornado watch at the present. Guess I need to make some room in the garage for the Sonata in case it starts to hail.

Have a good day, all!

Glad you're a little better, Tony, but if it's in your chest, none of that will help pneumonia!

My Aunt Edith is in the hospital with pneumonia in one small section of one lung. They'd thought double pneumonia until the results came back.

I'm probably going to end up calling the doctor when the office opens in a bit. It's getting a bit worse than before. If only this weather would quit going back and forth! (Blame everything on the weather...that's what I was always told! LOL) If it's pneumonia, I'm asking for a refund on my shot from last year! ;)

Well, have a doctors appointment for 5pm today. I sound so different even the receptionist didn't recognize my voice. She wanted me to come in earlier if I could, but I can't unless Viv gets off early, and there is a possibility of that. Viv said they already sent one full production line home, and they're going to send two more some time soon. Doc's already ordered a chest x-ray.

Well I'm glad you got in, Tony. Let us know, okay? I'll be praying when I can think straight!

Right now I'm in emotional melt down!

Prayer Request: I know this isn't the usual place, but know more people who pray will see it. I just got off of the phone with one of my sisters from Augusta. She is in Waycross with one of the other two sisters. My sister who lives in Waycross has five girls (two sets of paternal twins and a single) and is working real estate. She and her husband started a new work in Waycross a few months back. At this time, Steve, my BIL, quit his job at Lowe's, leaving them with no insurance, no steady pay (ya'll know how unsteady real estate pay is) and wanted to just be a minister. Two weeks ago he and my sister separated, and the next day, my sister filed for divorce. My BIL has been playing controlling mind games with her for over 15 years, and has driven most of the family away from them. The night my sister told him that if he didn't want to provide for his family and leave the ministry she wanted a divorce, he called the police on her, telling them that he believed someone was going to be hurt that night in the house. She didn't know who it was until she opened the door. My BIL has some serious mental issues he needs to deal with, and he needs prayer, as do my sister and the girls. I didn't need news like this now. Please, pray. That's all I ask. Have others pray, even if it's just as an unspoken request. My sis has five girls to support and no steady paycheck. Pray the Lord will provide.

Thanks,

T

Boy Howdy to all. Son and family are STILL here but hope to be on the road before the big spring snow hits. Want to get to Ogden or so by dark and if he finishes work by noon and they get out by 1, they can make it.

Forecast is heavy wet snow (which we NEED) to hit the SLC/Western WY mts late this evening and spread the state on Wednesday.

We will, of course, try to share and send it on across Nebraska, Iowa and RIGHT TO SUE!!

Think she needs another foot or two of snow, don't you?

Snow is never a curse, IMO.
I spent many days snowed-in over the years growing up, and loved nearly every minute of it!

When I was young, snow was fun. Because I didn't have to do any of the work. It is not fun NOW.

Try shoveling several feet of the stuff every day to get to your car!

Then try standing on the street corner twice a day, five days a week, in the blowing snow while you're freezing to death.

Then try delivering newspapers seven days a week, two days at 4:00 AM, in the blowing snow while you're freezing to death.

I WANT SPRING!

Have shoveled snow, have chopped ICE. have you chopped ice? :D

Let me tell you about the winter of '98
*** settles down for a long, boring story ***

You probably remember new england and much of the rest of the north east including parts of Canada had a major ice storm in 1998, to rival anything seen in the last 100 years.

The power at my house was out for 8 days straight--which was reletively short compared to those who had it out for over two weeks.

We literally chopped ice to melt in order to have water to flush the toilets, wash the dishes, etc. Of course my older brother wasn't there at the time and dad still had to work, and my mom's not able to do much physical work as she has foot problems . . .

SO, it was the three middle girls out in the weather !

Wild times. Loved it.

It was deathly cold, but once we got inside again we knew to appreciate the warmth--and all that firewood my dad cuts and hauls himself every single winter.
