I've been watching the Hallmark channel all day. The last two movies had Ed Asner as the star. I like him.

I'm not sure what I'm watching right now, but it's good. :D

Ed Asner is such a raging liberal and too hairy. Gorilla man! LOL. I liked the Mary Tyler Moore Show tho.

    I like Wilfred Brimley and he's a Mormon. :(

Being a liberal has absolutely nothing to do with his acting...

I am watching Fielder's Choice. It is really good so far!

I'm going to finish watching it in bed.

    Pleasant dreams all!

    Good morning all:

Brent is still with his cousins, so Dale won't get his presents until after church. We got him some assessories for his 'new' truck.

Beautiful day, high in the low 80s', and plenty of sunshine.

    Cruising,

We all went to bed early and now Jim and Nick have my cold. We share nicely.

Well I need to finish my tea and get ready for church. I'm STILL tired even after almost 10 hours sleep! I took my vitamins this morning tho. I'd not taken them for a week or so.

I am glad that someone mentioned the Hallmark Channel. I had forgotten that we have it.

I liked the Ed Asner movie and Fielder's Choice, but MK is right, both were a little toooo sad. I want something light.

How was The Notebook? I have wanted to see that.

The Notebook was quite good. It starts out a bit slow though. There are two story lines going on and the one that seems minor is the important one.

T wants one of the old cars from the movie.

The ending was a bit hokey and impossible but really doesn't take away from the overall story.

And that's all I'm going to say except not to watch it in front of young children. While modest for the most part, this is a love story and some of the "love" that is portrayed is extra-maritial. If you don't want to answer questions or don't want you kids getting the idea that it is okay to do these things even if it is true love, don't let them watch it.(that doesn't mean that this is all there is to this movie, just that it is included).

Blessed Sunday and Happy Father's Day everyone!

We took Jim to the local Mexican Restaurant for Father's Day. He LOVES the food and so does Nick. I started just getting their Nachos Supreme because I didn't feel 'full' with their taco's with no lettuce, etc. Now I'm ready for a nap!

Nick's new bite on his leg and neck went right away even tho the leg bite did get round and red. Now he has two new mosquito bites right in his hairline on the back of his neck. So far, they're staying really small. He also has one on his elbow that seems to be going away quickly. This is so encouraging to us!

Hope everyone has a nice day. Don't forget that [IMG] says 2-4 is nap time on Sunday!

    Good afternoon all:

Happy Fathers Day to all you Fathers.

Our VBS ended up being pretty good for the week. Viv and I got to go back on Thursday and Friday nights. Four kids were saved on Friday at the cookout! We had a 57 Chevy there for them to have their picture taken in. Viv subbed in a class, and I helped load up the hotdogs and burgers into bags on the buns provided. We had a total of 112 including adults on Friday night. We averaged 50 kids per night and nearly 38 adults.

I didn't get to do much the last two nights. Could barely move. I did finally get some help to mow the lawn yesterday morning. It looks really good. Also got to visit with the new neighbors when we took them over a welcome bag from church. Seem to be nice people.

Well, I'd better go. Ya'll have a good night.

Whew! I took that nap, prescribed by Miss Scarlett! Just what the teacher ordered!

It's still just over 75° and 20 mph wind. VERY nice day.

Tony, Our highest day at VBS that I heard so far was 384 with 40 professing Christ. Of course, each will receive follow up with the pastor, teachers and parents because of how easy it is to get caught up in the moment and not realize what one is doing....

Sounds like everyone had good VBS attendance! Ours was down quite a bit due to all the problems between the church and our now resigned and gone to better things senior pastor. Church politics can really impact the reputation in the community and it really showed this years VBS. Our highest was 230 down from over 300 last year. Workers were hard to come by also.

I killed the pressure washer that T had just gotten fixed this afternoon cleaning the old part of the deck. It appears to be going to cost us eight dollars plus shipping to replace the valve I blew. :( The real problem is that I have to wait for it to come in and for T to have time to install it before I can finish cleaning the deck. Or use a broom and do it the old fashioned way. Hmmmmm......

It's been kind of hot here today. Guess that cool front blew on out. We're supposed to get inot the 90's all next week. I sure hope the landscaping folks and pool people can get here next week. We're going to need that pool.

Cindi, that number also included workers I think. I haven't heard numbers since last week but did hear one day was lower, per usual.

I'm pretty sure our VBS numbers included adults too. We were definately down this year and there was sadness and tension among the adults over our pastor situation. God will still give the increase though!

Things are busy here tonight for it to be 9 already. Son is watching Disney and Bitsy is listening to music all in the same room!

Make that past tense, I've sent them all to bed. Not that they are listening, but at least they are out of my room. I think I may just grab a book and read for a while. Not much on the TV tonight.

A '57 Chevy??? AVL, how could you?! Da granny has been pining away for one of those beauties for years! What colour was it? We had a maroon one and a yellow one. I hope I get to sit in another one before I die.

I wouldn't mind having my '57 Ford Mustang back...

Brent came home from his cousins with a cold and a bad sunburn. We are turning in early tonight.

    Pleasant dreams all!

    Morning all:

GrannyGumbo, I didn't get to sit in the car at all. :( I was too busy helping with the grilling and filling up of the drink cups! [IMG] It was a dark blue with silver! I loved it! I used to have a baby blue and white one and wish I could find another. This one was superb! The man isn't a church member, but he brought it up to give the kids a boost and as a favor to one of our deacons.

I'm hoping that pain clinic calls this morning. I need to try and get in there ASAP. Don't know what good it will do. The one I went to in Minnesota back in 1993 was worthless.

I got my notification of review from Social Security on Friday, three days after my fall. My doctor said not to worry about the outcome, that there is no way I can work a traditional job, and especially not in the fields that I worked in before. I also could not sit through classes long enough to get a degree...so, he said I'm pretty well "hopeless" in the eyes of SS. It's not like I enjoy that piddly $500+ I get every month, especially when compared to the $20,000=$35,000 I would make. That's quite a decrease in pay and benefits! Doc said that with the fall on Tuesday, it only solidifies my case, and then there's the diabetes, anemia and asthma added to the mix. Yet, I still have to say, God is good.

Well, ya'll...hope you have a GREAT DAY! [IMG] I might stop in for a cuppa or a cup of coffee later on!

    Good morning Tony and all:

It is going to be another beautiful day. Brent and I have some chores we need to get done outside. We will be doing them early this morning.

I also have some laundry and bed linens to wash and hang outside on the clothesline to dry.

It looks like we may be relocating the CH again sometime today...
