    (ignoring Gib now [IMG] )

    Evening all:

Today was another busy day but it doesn't seem like I accomplished much.

Even so, I am tired and going to bed. I can't seem to get enough sleep since school started.

I have to learn to give injections next week and I'm certainly not looking forward to it. Dale has to have shots twice a day starting four days before his 'procedure' and for a week or so afterwards. He cannot stand the thought of giving them to himself - so guess who gets to do it???

He better be REAL nice to me when I have that needle in my hand... :D

    Pleasant dreams all!

    Morning all:

EXCELLENT this morning...cool around 60 degrees and just felt great! No fog and I just loved it!

Vivian had to take the Lumina today. My brother (the one in the entertainment industry with Blessid Union of Souls) called last night and wants me to pick him up at the Nashville airport and spend the day with him until he has to go to Clarksville, TN with a friend. I've got to pick him up at 11am. I don't get to see him very often, and our relationship is strained to some degree, but we are working on being better brothers to each other. He has a concert in Rock Island, Illinois on Friday that he has to attend, and then on October 23rd at the Peoria Civic Center, I believe he's helping to put together a Stix concert. My other brother, Mike, is a sponsor through Ductbusters for that, as are some other friends from my younger days!

We were short of teachers last night in Wednesday Bible study, and the pastor had to teach the kids while I took the adults class. It was interesting, and I really enjoyed it. The Lord has a way of putting us on the spot, and that's what He did with me last night. It showed me how I needed to be MORE prepared, though I'm usually prepared all the time. I was told about an hour before class started that the teacher wasn't going to be there, and he asked me to teach. But, it seemed enjoyable to all! [IMG]

There's a church men's fellowship tomorrow night, and I'm praying that all goes well. We're supposed to have some visitors, and I hope that the Lord really blesses.

I got the church website up, finally...

    Faith Community Church

Preacher seemed pleased with it. I'm hoping it will be of use to the church!

    Well, God bless you today.

Be good. Be Kind. Be Careful.

Good morning Sheila, Tony, and all who will rise later!

Yes, Sheila. I've finally got some leverage! [IMG]

If he jumps when I give him the first shot - I'm done.

Tony, the web site is very nice, but you don't have a banner to the BB!?! ;)

It is coolish here, but very muggy. The humidity is very high. We're supposed to have rain the rest of the week and possibly some strong storms. High of 91º tomorrow...

Cool website, Tony. Too bad you're a man, women always have something to say!

Just passing through again today, folks. Only half of yesterday's problems resolved themselves. Hopefully today nothing else will come up.

    Heading for the sewing machine......

Sue, I'm workin' on it! LOL...I have to have all links approved by the church. Of course, the BB banner is on the Baptist Top 1000 and Christian Top 1000 sites, so I would figure it would be ok...but you know some of these churches...the like to vote! [IMG]

Thanks all for your comments regarding the site!

I'm getting ready to head out to the bank and then to the Nashville airport. I know I've got to get gas, but Vivian said it was down to $2.94 per gallon in Murfreesboro at Kangaroo! So, guess I'll be filling up! [IMG] She's got to get gas after work in the Lumina. She said there is less than half a tank. So...that means another $30.00 or so!

    Heading on out....

Good job on the Web site, AVL. That is a lot of hard work.

    Good Afternoon everyone!

I've been painting and to the bank. It is a glorious day. Beautiful weather. Still a little warm for fall.

I read in the local paper this morning that Falls Creek (our Baptist encampment) first had to turn away volunteers because there were too many and now that the camp is all ready for displaced Americans, they have not arrived. It seems that for now, they don't want to leave Texas. I'm sure the Texans can understand that. [IMG]

Anyway, we are ready. They sent all the volunteers home except the Highway Patrol that is providing security. Many volunteers are on call to return at any time needed.

    Afternoon all:

I just saw on Fox News that Arafat is dead? Anyone hear about it? I have no details.

Brent is almost done with school. It's a lot harder this year...

I am either having a heart attack, indigestion, or heartburn. I took some Peptol Bismol and the pains seem to have eased up some.

Can you get heartburn or indigestion if you haven't eaten for 22 hours?

Yassar Arafat has been dead for nearly a year. I believe he died Nov 11, 2004. They haven't conclusively reached what the cause of death was, only that it ultimately led to the stroke that killed him.

Yes you can get heartburn/indigestion if you haven't eaten for 22 hours, but with women's symptoms on heart attacks being somewhat different from mens, you don't want to take a chance. Get to the ER or your doctor ASAP!

Does anyone read famous authors of great literature that have possible controversial lifestyles, i.e. George Sand, Willa Cather?
Not sure, or do you just read Christian literature?

Just your opinions please. Not trying to start a debate!

    TIA!

    Hi Thankful,

Eighteen families just arrived in Ontario from La. The children will be allowed to attend school here free of any costs and the families are staying with residents. Our government has provided some funding to clothe, feed and care for the temporary residents.

It is amazing how folks all over are responding to needs. They might have some difficulty adjusting when winter comes, but it sure beats 20 feet of water.

    Cheers,

    Jim

Good evening folks and good night.

We got the $80.00 part to fix my seatbelt and it isn't what Dale thought we needed to fix it - they won't take it back. Dale said he didn't think he could fix it at all, so now we will have to take it to the dealership and pay $400.00+ for parts and labor and we will still be stuck with the part we already bought.

I have a splitting headache and I'm going to bed. :(

    Pleasant dreams all!

Don't you have car wrecker yards there? Surely they can collect what you need from a car there and for just a few dollars.

My mechanic does it all the time.

    Cheers,

    Jim

We have a car wreckers yard a couple of miles away from us. HQ Rob calls it. Has saved us pounds. [IMG]

Sheila and Jim: We USED to buy ALL our parts from the junk yard, but they don't sell them anymore - the cars go right to the cruncher when they pick them up.

You'd think that since a seat belt is a safety device and a requirement, by law, they wouldn't wear out - or if they did they would be cheaper to fix! Now the one on the passenger side is starting to stick......wish I could afford a different car!

    Good morning all:

High if 91º this afternoon - foggy with 100º humidity right now and my keyboard even feels sticky. YUCK!

The air will go on once I'm done working at the corner this afternoon. It is just going to be too humid to breathe without it for the next few days.

Bobby (Pastor Bob's son) is coming up from Kansas tonight and will be staying with us until he can find an apartment in Peoria (about 45 miles from here). He is getting married up here in December.

I got the results from my blood work. Good cholesterol is too low and bad cholesterol is too high. Exercise and low-fat diet now... :(

Going to put the coffee on,
