We have car wreckers here, but they are usually the ones that send the cars to the junk yard. [IMG]

Good Afternoon, everyone. I am so far behind in reading that I've got to catch up.

Jim, we are very appreciate of the help provided by our Canadian neighbors.

Sue, we keep pouring money into my car because I don't want to buy another one. Actually, the last four cars that I have bought I thought would be my last one. [IMG] Thank goodness, I am outlasting the cars.

What do you all do when you really don't feel like exercising? I'm not taking about "don't want to".

I just went to the grocery store and pick up the groceries and I am tired!

That's the why THIS one is getting fixed! [IMG]

Now that school has started, I don't have much choice. I walk back and forth between two streets, very briskly for 30 minutes, twice a day.

Unfortunately, in the summer when I don't 'feel' like it, I usually don't do it.

I'm tired too. I have been cleaning out closets and posting clothes and shoes, to give away, on FreeCycle.

Well, Brent is spending the night with his cousins and Bobby got settled in and then left to play basketball at the gym.

I took advantage of the quiet and sat in the recliner to watch TV. I fell asleep and Bobby woke me up when he came home at 10:00.

I am going to bed for real this time!

    Pleasant dreams all!

    Morning all:

Sue, I had high cholesterol for a while because of my eating habits, but I ate a bowl of oatmeal every morning, cut back on the fats and soda, at popcorn (unbuttered and air popped) twice a week, and my cholesterol came down. It wasn't as "painful" as I thought it was going to be.

It's cool here...67 degrees. The lawn mower is done and I have to go and pick it up today. It's only going to cost $72.00. That's far less than the $295 the man up the road was going to charge. Glad I took it to the Farmers Co-Op.

We had a great Men's Fellowship at the home of one of our members last night. He cooks some really great chicken! And the garlic mashed potato's were to die for! He's a County cop, but man, he could make a million cookin' chicken!

Well, off to the table for some coffee. Viv just got up and I hear her stirring around.

    Have a great day!

    Good morning all:

Tony: I am going to do the oatmeal 'thing' and I already drink nothing but diet pop. All my meat is either grilled, baked, or fixed in the crock pot. I don't fry anything anymore except chicken.

I'm switching to whole wheat bread and low-fat butter. Then I must exercise to get the 'bad' cholesterol down, as well as getting the 'good' cholesterol up...

I must go to Wal-Mart, Aldis, and Krogers this morning. I would like to get there before the crowds, so I'm leaving shortly. I also want to drop by the Farmer's Market to buy some tomatoes and other fresh veggies.

    HAGD all!

    Morning,

I'm taking Piper to the groomers this morning. I'm going to look at a couple motorcycles today.

Taylor is going to a BBall tourney in Waycross. JB is on his way to Jekyll Island to watch a soccer tourney. Cheryl is going to enjoy the silence, for a spell.

Sue, my Mary had the same problem and we switched from butter to a margarine called I Can't Believe it's Not Butter.weird name, but mostly soya oil and vegetable oils. It does taste just like butter, but helps to handle the cholesterol problem. You may have a similar product in the USA.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    Thanks, Jim.

I have been using "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" for several years and we all love it. It DOES taste like butter!

I also am going to start riding my exercise bicycle when I can't get outside to ride. I don't enjoy walking and know I wouldn't stick with that.

I think I have been doing all the things suggested in my diet, except I have been drinking regular soda, because the diet soda would makes me retain water. ( I should drink only water) The only consolation I can get is that I would be in worse shape and weigh twice as much if I hadn't stated using or eliminating the suggested items years ago.

I am not sure what works to lower cholesterol or lose weight.

I'm watching the Sooners play. Coach sure made a lot of changes from last week. I hope the changes work.

Well my team won today but I had to hear about it second hand. The kids had a board breaking clinic at the karate studio this morning and I didn't even check to see when Auburn was playing. By the time I found out the game was nearly over and I had a pool to clean.

The kids had a blast this morning and all three broke thier boards! This was the first time for them. Son also finished his last requirement before he can test for his green belt on Friday. He wasn't real happy that the girls finished all their requirements before he did so he is thrilled now!

I'm headed off to cook some supper and may watch the other guys lo---I mean play their game(I guess no one told them that a crimson tide was a bad thing! [IMG] ).

    See ya!

Oh, Mk, I couldn't stand to see my grandson break those boards with his head!

Well, the Sooners won with flair today with a touchdown in the last three minutes. Wish they could have done that last week.

Popping in to say good night.

Brent and I have been out in the yard pulling and cutting weeds (along the fence line). It is really humid! We were both soaked in a matter of minutes.

We have had our showers and Brent is already in bed. I am heading there now.

Jim1999: The book you recommended, Words From a Fearless Heart, Laura Ingalls Wilder, arrived from Amazon.com today and I will enjoy getting started on it tonight.

    Pleasant dreams all!

LOL Thankful! That's what fathers and grandfathers are for!

Mine only broke with thier hands and feet. They won't have to break for testing until they get way way up in rank. If I'm lucky they won't break with their heads. If they do, T'll have watch!

Breaking boards? I've been breaking a bunch with my new Makita circular saw! Syracuse Orangemen won their game today. I think they were playing some high school team. [IMG]

    Morning all:

Much cooler here this morning. Right around the 65 degree mark. It got really foggy yesterday, and it is foggy this morning. It got to 95 here yesterday afternoon.
Viv and I did go and get the lawn mower from the co-op. We didn't mow yesterday, though. It was just too hot! We're going to finish the lawn today after church and the business meeting.
I got to watch all of 2 minutes of the Michigan/ND game yesterday, and that was it.

Well, looking forward to services this morning. Hope ya'll have a great day!

    Good morning all:

It is muggy and foggy here this morning, but coolish. It was 95º yeterday and will be about the same for the next 3/4 days before it cools off again.

There are a couple of Fall Festivals going on in small towns around us, but it is too hot to enjoy them.

After church, we will come home and settle down in the A/C. The humidity is just too high to breathe well outside...

    HAGD!
