It was nice to feel a hint of fall in the air this morning.

We had a GA Baptist Convention rep speak today. He works with state churches in providing resources for youth ministries. He used words like, cool, boing, duh, lame and others. Sadly, we only had 2 young people there today and they were both mine.

    Morning:

Woah...yesterday was lively on here, wasn't it?

It's a cool 66 here this morning. No thick fog yet, but it's coming.
Yesterday was excellent. SS and church were both great. Brother Monty preached a great sermon. It seems since the church split, his preaching has been less "inhibited". After the service, we had our business meeting and we voted to buy yard signs for the church and let each family who wanted them or to sponsor a sign repay the church. I think we've got 40 signs on order. I know Viv and I are putting one at the end of our drive by the mailbox, and then sponsoring another four signs. God is good! We had 42 yesterday, three new visitors included. We were missing six people who usually come, so if we'd have had them we would have had 48, nearly what we were running at Midland! PRAISE THE LORD!!!

We found out the other day that my great grandmothers sister died at the beginning of this month. She was 107 years and 7 months old to the day! I believe she's got one brother left who is over 100. There were 18 of them in all and my great grandmother a good twenty years gone now was the oldest. She died at the age of 98 in 1984. Wow, those Chastains lived a long time...at least the women!

Well, ya'll have a great day. Since we've got the lawn mower back, I'm going to try and mow the lawn, even the high areas.

Be good, be kind, be careful!

    Good morning all:

Good news about church, yesterday, Tony! PTL!

It is 61º here this morning, but it will be 92º by this afternoon and the humidity, as always, is high.

The car goes to the mechanics after I finish at the corner this morning. I don't know if they're going to fix it or just look at it and tell me what exactly it needs and then make an appointment to fix it. I've been lucky, so far, not getting a ticket for the seatbelt...

Some of the leaves are falling already, so Brent and I need to rake them today. The lawn company is going to aerate, put down lime, and sow grass seed this week. Hopefully, next year, we will have a nice lawn instead of having to mow dirt!

    Cruising,

    Good morning everyone!

    PTL Tony!

It's going to be quiet from my side of the fence all week. something is triggering Son's migraines and he had had one since summer. We went and got a treatment that usually stops the cycle, but for some reason it started back up again within days.

So I've decided the trigger must be something in the house as he is usually better(not well) once he is at school. That means deep cleaning the entire house to see what I can find. One corner of the livingroom has already yeilded enough dust to half fill the vacuum. No telling what else I'll find as I can't see well unless it's up close or far off(yes I know I need new glasses  ). I'm taking it one section/room at a time and cleaning/washing EVERYTHING.

Wish me luck and don't miss me to bad. ;) I've left an apple pie that T made on the counter. It's made with splenda so feel free to indulge!

Good Morning, All. I was so busy yesterday that I didn't get to post at all. Too much to do for a Sunday.

Our revival meeting is coming up. They always have it this time of year and three out of the last five years, I have been very sick with allergies or something during this time.

I'm probably going to make myself sick for worrying about being sick. [IMG]

Let see, positive thoughts...I will not be sick, I will not be sick...maybe...I will be well, I will be well.

The apple pie is great, MK. Hope the house cleaning works. I have done that before and you have to be careful what you use for cleaning. It is a vicious cycle.

Just back from the mechanics. It took them 1 1/2 hours to tell me they would have to order the part and it would cost $400.00+ for the part and labor.

They won't take back the track I paid $90.00 for and they are ordering a new motor when there is nothing wrong with the old one. I guess it comes in one piece now (it didn't used to).

I am not a happy camper, but it has to be fixed, sooo. They will call me and set up an appointment when the part arrives.

Brent is finished with his goals and is now doing corrections. We will then, collectively, clean our desks off!

I am installing a new phone and can't even FIND my desk. I need to do some serious filing. [IMG]

Oh Sue, I would be fuming right now!! So sorry about the car!
We are nowhere near being finished with school today. Sometimes I wish we were doing ACE like my son did at the church school last year because it seems so much easier to organize, but we have all A Beka on hand (except for BJU Spanish) so that's what we are using. We ARE glad to be homeschooling again. Mega-filing tho!!

I would be fuming, but since it won't change anything - I've decided not to waste my energy. :D

I couldn't function without using ACE.

I don't have that much to file. Of course, I just have my grandson so I don't have very much paperwork at all.

Took a forced break to go pick up migraine boy and then decided to check in here while I ate lunch. Good thing I did, cause Sue's car trouble reminded me that I was supposed to get a price for two new tires for T truck.

Thankful, I know what you mean so I'm cleaning with Murphey's oil soap and plain dish detergent(not at the same time of course). I've made it halfway around the living room and am amazed at how much dust I'm finding. It really hasn't been that long since I dusted.

Oh well. Heading for the phone.....

I went out and mowed a bit before Viv called for lunch. It was on the riding mower, but I still had to stop and come in for a breathing treatment. I then went back out, put more gas in and put on a mask and mowed until the cell phone vibrated. I finished 1/3 of the lawn in total. Don't know how much more I will be doing today. Had to come in, take a quick shower, put on different clothes and get cooled down and give myself ANOTHER breathing treatment. I've got to try and put the clothes in the wash in a minute so the grass & allergens will be removed!

My blood sugar dropped really quickly and I don't know why...so the doc wants me in late this week or early next week.

Well, need to go! Trying to find something for dinner, too!

Tony, be careful when mowing, please!

menagerie, hope you can figure out what is triggering the migraines. I bet 'migraine boy' would rather be in school than home and miserable. :( (Wouldn't he?)

Thanks, Gayla...I will be, believe me.

Viv went out and mowed for about fifteen minutes. She wanted to try out the lawn mower. She usually does the rider and I push, because there's not so much to do in the pushing part and weed eating. I enjoy the yard work, I just can't handle a whole lot of it with the asthma.

MK...I'm praying for "migraine boy". I know how he feels. I get "cluster headaches" and at times they get so bad they actually make my nose or ears bleed. Though that it was leukemia at first and have been tested for it many times.

Eew Tony! Thank goodness Son doesn't bleed, my nerves couldn't stand it. :(

If this thorough housecleaning doesn't work, I'm going to start back with the migraine diary and the elimination diet routine to try to find out what's got 'em started so bad this time. He manages with just Advil in the mornings at school, but by lunch(think impossibly loud lunchroom) he's had all he can stand and just wants a dark room, a stronger pain killer and sleep. But even when that has all taken effect, he is still done for the day and doesn't get out of bed for much. He's done a little better this evening and got up long enough to make a cake mix cake. He's back in bed now. His preventatives may have to be changed.

As for school......that's a tossup! ;) :D Just joking, but school isn't exactly his favorite place. It's getting better now that he is getting older, but school is something he just tolerates till he can get back home and do whatever has caught his attention at the moment. When he was in kindergarten/first grade he'd often try crying all the way to school just to see if I'd break down and keep him home. Once he was there though he'd always have a miraculous recovery. It was Bitsy that I had to carry in and leave screaming in the classroom on the teacher's lap. [IMG] She never really thought it was as funny as I did! Unfortunately she was the third and couldn't really find anything new to try out on me. She also underwent miraculous recoveries the minute I stepped outside the door.

Well I made it mostly through the livingroom today, including under, behind and inside all the furniture, vacuumed off the window treatments, and sorted out 2 1/2 garbage bags of trash. I found three missing sets of nail clippers, several magazines I had bought but not looked through, two books that go with a third in the series that I knew I had but couldn't find and enough crumbs under the couch to feed the hamster for a year(I'm sure there is a reason why I had all these kids, maybe I'll remember it when I get over my mad spell  ). But the only money I found was a nickle and a couple of pennies. It's not fair, I work all day and don't find enough money for a piece of candy! It's clean in there though. Except for those window treatments, they aren't clean enough to suit me. New ones may be my next project after the house is clean. I've had the fabric for new ones for longer than I care to remember. I'd have taken these down and washed them but they are attached to BOARDS and aren't made to remove easily. I'm not taking them down more than once and that'll be to replace them.

Well supper and kids are calling, see ya later!

Brent and Bobby are playing Nintendo64 and I'm feeling a little yucky. I'm going to bed so I can get away from all the noise.

    Pleasant dreams all!

    Morning all:

I don't think I'll be mowing today. I'm still not recovered lung-wise from yesterday. I had a hard time breathing all night. But, that's what I get for not listening. It MUST be a man thing! ;)

The associate pastor is supposed to come sometime this week and help, but I don't think we'll really need him if Vivian can get most of the yard finished. One of our new neighbors mowed part of the yard, tore down an old dead hedgerow at the end of the drive and has really been a great help to us. In fact, both couples who have moved in seem to be very nice younger people. I thank the Lord for that. I've gotten a chance to witness to one couple. We're looking for an opening to share the Lord with the other.

Ya'll have a wonderful day, and be good, be kind, be careful.

    Good morning all:

I feel much better this morning even though I did get up at 4:00!

Rain is forecast for this evening and tomorrow morning. Maybe I can turn the air off tonight. It is supposed to be in the low 80s starting tomorrow.

I'm going to work on the sun porch this morning and try to get it put back together after the damage from the leaky roof. I still have everything in the living room that had to be moved off the porch.

I have several bags of FreeCycle things on the porch that were supposed to be picked up by now. I will just contact the next person on the list - I received several replies wanting them.

    Have a great day all!

    Good morning!

I feel pretty good this morning in spite of my whiny children! Today is day two of operation deep clean and the foyer and upstairs hallway are on the list for today, along with taking T's truck in to get two new tires and a front end realignment(at $257 I'm only doing slightly better than Sue. Praise the Lord though that he sent most of the money before we knew we needed it!) Somewhere along the line I'll have to go pick up Son, who is STILL suffering with his headache. I have a feeling that he has a sinus infection that is causing at least part of his problems. We did a round of antibiotics but I think he is still sick and needed something stronger.

Sue, don't hurt your back moving stuff! I'm going to be moving things myself today. Namely about a million books that came off a book case that Precious decided to appropriate for other uses. They are all piled up in the upstairs hallway waiting to go to shelves in the library and in the living room. I hate stairs!

The "man thing" had better start listening to his body before he kills himself! Right now it is soooo dry her that I won't have to mow again for two or three weeks. If I'm lucky I'll only have to do it one last time before it gets cool and the grass stops growing.(a girl can hope can't she?)

    Ya'll have a good one!!!

Has Blackbird posted his story regarding the hurricane yet?

I didn't know Blackbird was posting again.
    Knew he was OK, tho!

The grass here is starting to turn brown, but mostly because we haven't had a good rain in a while. But it's almost time to harvest the cotton (most of the fields have been sprayed with the defoliage stuff.) so the farmers may want it to stay dry for a little while.

It will have to wait 'til Saturday for a cutting, tho. Carl's hours changed this week from 5 pm to 3 am, now it's 3pm to 11pm. (Paycheck wise, I prefer the 10 hr days. ;) [IMG] )
