We are enjoying a much needed, quiet day at home.

This evening, we will watch a couple of DVD's, drink egg nog and eat some crackers and a cheeseball.

The day has been most pleasant.

drink egg nog and eat some crackers
    ----------------------------------------------

Sue, my demented mind had visions of you eating "crackers" tonight and I couldn't imagine why anyone would eat crackers.........then it dawned on me that you weren't talking about the pull-apart things that go bang when you pull on them....crackers to me....

With Mary in Florida, I am busy building things about the house. I can make a mess and leave it for a few days. Last time Mary was away, I built bookshelves along one wall, and put all her books on the shelves. She was quite surprised, and liked it. This time I am drywalling the laundry room, building shelves and a closet. I can even work all night and not trouble about waking her up with the hammer banging.

    Cheers,

    Jim

    LOL, Jim, not firecrackers.

I made a cheeseball and we spread some of that on Ritz crackers (or whatever kind is your preference) and nibble on them.

That's when hubby likes to work on things too - when I'm not home...

Hope you all are having a wonderful day! We're about to head out for Banana Smoothies for dessert, and go see these lights at a drive-through display, and get straws for Anna as she's had some difficulty with cups.

Dinner was rather...funny? I had to feed Anna (she's been getting stiff thumbs, really weird) so my oldest decided that if I was feeding Anna, someone had to feed me, and I figured if Mandi was feeding me, someone should feed her and the only one left was Nina, but then there was nobody to feed Nina and our chain was broken. It was a fun try nevertheless!

We had a really early dinner, with no reason except mamma was HUNGRY!

Can't wait to have church on Christmas tomorrow! We've had Christmas music going here, and of course I was singing along! (now that I've had reasonable assurance that nobody can hear me...hehe)

Dale and Brent went over to a 'gathering' at Dale's brothers. I had a wicked spell with my stomach earlier so I stayed home.

There'll be no egg nog or movies for me tonight. All I need is sleep!

    Pleasant dreams all!

    Merry Christmas!!!

We did Christmas today, because we live 30 miles from Church and the driving plus the fun stuff would be too much.
Cooked ham in the Crockpot, had a small pan of dressing in the freezer from Thanksgiving, bought some Smoked Turkey wings that only had to be heated (Yum-o).
We got the kids a fish tank with 2 goldfish. Their first pets!

We just returned from our church Christmas Eve Candle lighting ceremony. Our music minister does such an excellent job. It was wonderful to sing praises to our Savior and fellowship with brothers and sisters in Christ.

Then we looked at the beautiful lights in our town.

I look forward to church tomorrow.

Have a great evening and MERRY CHRISTMAS!

    Good morning all,

I had a wonderful night's sleep last night. PTL! I am hoping to get at least one cup of coffee down before Brent wakes up to discover that 'Santa' filled his 'stocking'.

It is lightly snowing and makes for a very beautiful Christmas morning.

    Merry Christmas. [IMG]
I'm gonna go stand under the mistletoe and get my hugs and kisses. I love having that up, I may just leave it there! It's so precious. I'll go stand under it and if nobody's around I'll "cough". A gentle AHEM, and all their lives the girls know that whenever I do that it means SOMETHING and they come running to see what's up.
So, they come running, see where I'm standing, and throw their arms around me, and they stand there too whenever they want some attention!
One time I accidentally passed up the oldest as she stood under it and she jokingly wailed "mamma, dontcha luuuuuvvvv me anymore?!" [IMG]
Have a great day, we're headed off to spend a little time with our church family this blessed day!

I gotta go cook, but first, THIS was funny!

At the service this morning, we STARTED to sing "Hark the Herald Angels Sing".
Keep in mind that there was nobody playing instruments or anything, just us singing.

    It went like this.

    Hark the herald angels sing
    Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild...

At this point, the pastor walks out and calls out "Fa la la la la, la la la la!"

Now WHY did he do that?!

Probably because we were following the song leader, and the song leader was singing it to the tune of "Deck the Halls", and we like sheep followed along without a second thought.
At least for a little...I was looking at the music going "this ain't right, the notes don't match" and it was about the same time I thought that when the pastor walked out and we all were just grinding to a confused halt....

    That was priceless!
Halfway through the lesson, I was still trying not to giggle!

    Merry Christmas Everyone!

Ah, peace and quiet, finally! Presents are unwrapped(I got dangley pearl earings), dinner has been cooked and eaten and the kids are busy playing with their loot!

I don't think the older two kids slept much last night. They went to bed early but woke up at midnight and wanted to open presents! I sent them back to bed but then Bitsy came down and got in bed with me because she said the other two were being mean to her. Son wanted her to come back upstairs, but I'd had enough at this point and sent him back upstairs by himself(well Precious was up there too but she wasn't getting into their arguement). We finally let them drag us up at 4:30, lured by promises of coffee made and delivered to us.

By this time, Precious was getting good and sick. She has caught T's gunk and so have I. We opened presents and went back to bed! Woke back up at 8 intending to go to church and Precious couldn't breath or swallow. By the time I got her settled down and comfortable again church was starting. :( It probably wouldn't have been very wise to take her out in the damp cold we have here today, but I wanted to go to church!

Found out that all the fuss during the night was from Son who thought Santa had only left him two presents and neither seemed to be what he had asked for! He didn't tell T and I though, cause that wouldn't have been manly! Instead he kept his sisters awake worrying. He is now occupied with exactly what he asked for. It had all been wrapped in one package as it was all related. He actually had three packages under the tree, but since they are not allowed to touch them before we get up he didn't see one of them! Poor kid! All that worrying for nothing. He's kind of embarassed about it, too.

Oops, I've just been informed that Son is not playing, but is asleep on the couch with T. That long night must have caught up with him. Precious just came in and plopped on my bed and said she was going nap also. That just leaves me and Bitsy and we're both playing around on the computer. She got a new game from Santa.

Hope everyone has had as nice a day as we!

    Cindi

    Good morning all,

We had a very nice Christmas. We opened presents, ate, and relaxed all day. Brent received several CD's and we watched a couple of those last night and had egg nog before we went to bed.

My head is still all stuffed up, but my coughing is much better. You'd think, with all the meds I'm taking, I'd be all better by now...

Hubby doesn't go back to work until tomorrow, so today will be much like yesterday, except we will put the Christmas gifts away.

    HAGD!
