As long as you took the calories, carbs, and fats out...they will be delicious!

Right now, I'm munching on low-carb chocolate candy from Russell Stover and it's really good!

Thankful

We took Ed's car for new shoes today and of course the tire place is near his favorite shopping place "Mardel's". I'm not sure who bought the most books, but Ed bought Muffin two toys and Muffin bought him two CD's. The Christmas Stuff was 75% off. Wish I knew what I would want for next Christmas

I needed a small daily planner to keep track of paying bills and appointments. I found just the right size called Daily Planner for Women. It should say for family, but any way, it will do.

Then there were Lori Wick's books on sale. They didn't have the ones I wanted on sale, but I bought three anyway and a couple of C. S. Lewis' books. I haven't checked to see what books Ed bought. Probably some Biblical reference books!
I am glad this side of the house is not on a hill side or we would probably slide down from the weight of the books.

I saw the purse I wanted today. One of those Ameribags that you carry on one shoulder. I have never paid that much for a purse so I am still thinking about it. Ed reminded me that I had Christmas money left and that I have control of the house money. I think he meant buy it, don't you?

Go for it Thankful!

I had a Dooney and Bourke one that was very decent for a number of years, definitely got it's use.
The one I have now is Yves Saint Laurent. That one is annoying. It fits nothing and had metal thingies on the bottom.

Now, here's my explanation of why I'm walking around with such stuff. LOL
I got both of them in NYC. I was walking down the street and looking to buy one and this guy started showing me some and I said "these are nice, but not exactly what I'm looking for."
He said "I have some in back I'll show you".
So he brought them out.
I had no concept of brand. I just thought the DB one was cute and bought it.
Same thing happened with the second one.
They're both real. I had a friend who was a fashion design buyer who flipped out over them, yelling at me for contributing to theft and such.

I seriously didn't know until she told me, I never got into that kind of stuff. She didn't believe me at first when she asked if it ever occurred to me that those things don't sell for $20, $40 bucks, and you can't bargain for them off sidewalk stores, and I said no. It really never did! Then I started looking into them and finding how much they are when you're NOT buying them from shady people off the street, and about choked. LOL

So now my secret's out. If I ever have to go to court for theft, I'll try to remember not to pull a Martha Stewart and carry one of those puppies in with me.

LOL! How'd we get the "Body Jewelry by the chain gang" ad at the bottom of the page by ya'll talking purses?
laugh.gif
It must have been Gina talking about metal thingys!

Mmmm, yeast rolls! I like those almost as much as chocolate.

Gotta go run a kid out of my sewing stuff! He's looking for game pieces to one of those triangle games from Cracker Barrel.(next thing you know we'll have wine ads cause I used the word barrel

Thankful

Mk, we got rid of those ads with our firewall/virus checker package so we don't see those ads. Thank you for sharing them. I really got a laugh out of that.

Gina, I would be like you. I cannot recognize name brand stuff. Maybe the judge can't either.

If I bought it thinking it was name brand, it would probably be fake!

Well, must go, husband and dog are both telling me that it is time for supper.

Back to school for Brent tomorrow, so he is in bed already and I'm heading that way soon myself.

I hauled a desk from the spare room, through the kitchen and family room, and into the living room - twisting my back in the process (yes, I know better)...

Hubby has been watching a J.A.G. marathon. Being retired Navy, he never misses a chance to watch it.

Still praying for the fires in OK and TX and the floods in CA and OR. The crises are far from over.

Pleasant dreams all!

P.S.
I left some Molasses Sugar Cookies and some Alaska Logs for the late-nighters.

Well, Sue brought in the desserts tonight folks. And here I am with a platter full of Chocolate Covered Words...

well, I guess I will just have to step out in the hall and (GULP) eat (chomp, chomp) my words.

Goodnight Thankful!

I'll take some words! Give me a C, give me an H, give me an O, give me a C, give me an O, give me an L, give me and A, give me a T, give me an E! Give me some Pepto Bismol, I ate too much chocolate! :D

For all you getting ready for bed...our whole family had bad dreams last night and that was weird but mine was the WEIRDEST! I woke up with a scream. LOL The part of the dream that made me do that was a plant. I was in my house, there was a guy in my house, and he was holding an aloe plant in the sink watering it. It started growing, and then just kept growing and coming towards me. It went out the kitchen window and about five big stems of it slammed like suction cups against the door trying to get at me, then one broke through the glass of the door and the stems came slamming at me and had just reached my stomach (hard) and when they did I screamed and that's when I woke up.

Ok, I'm off to bed. I know it's early (at least it still is out here) but the migraine from Sheol has been trying to break through since it's grand arrival a few days ago, and my bed beckons. I won't sleep through the night going to bed this early, so I'm sure I'll be here again after a few!

Good morning all,

Gina, I have aloe plants in two of my kitchen windows and they both need separated because they are getting so big. I think today might be a good day to do that - after your dream.

I was afraid my back would be really bad this morning, but it feels almost back to normal. PTL!

Hubby goes back to work and Brent and I go back to school today. We've had quite a long break...

Cruising,

Good Morning, All! I got up early because I thought my grandchildren were coming over, but their dad couldn't bring them and I don't feel like making the trip to pick them up. They go back to school tomorrow.

So they are disappointed and I am disappointed.

Ed goes back to work today too.

There is so much that I need to do today, but hey, it can wait until tomorrow.

Time for Muffin's Breakfast!

Take care, everyone and have a great day.

Betty

Good Morning all. I finally slept a whole night through. Went to bed before 12 for a change. Woke up just as it was getting light, but laid back down for a while longer

Today is the 3rd of the month and my disability check will come. With all the bills and the grocerys needed, it will be gone as fast as I got it.

LoL

Good Morning Everyone!

I must say, I'm disapointed. :( All these kids going back to school and mine, mine don't go back for ANOTHER WEEK! Yep you heard me right, another whole loooonnnnnngggggggg week.(sigh)

Oh well, it will give me plenty of time to get Son's birthday done and over with(he'll be 11 on Thursday), and not have to deal with the afterschool and Saturday schedule that starts in earnest on Saturday!

I'm still trying to fit Tuesday, Friday and Saturday basketball, with Thursday gymnastics and at least two classes of karate for each kid. I almost think I had it worked out but then I lost the karate schedule! Oh well, basketball only lasts two months.

Standing Firm, I feel your pain. I've spent this morning figuring the checkbook and paying bills. I hate, hate, hate spending the paycheck as fast as we get it! But such is life and PTL that I can cover the bills each month and still afford to feed two special diets and three other people!

There was a time not so long ago that life wasn't so pleasant.

Ya'll have a nice day! Today is recover the house from the holidays, day. Plus I have at least two extra kids coming to play, medicine to pick up, and milk to buy(I was just at the store the day before yesterday!). You probably won't see much of me for the rest of the day.

LOL, all I know is that is has something to do with tht image tags, "<img>", on the full reply form. I think to have to upload them to an image hosting service first and then point the tag to picture. But, I've never actually done this myself, so I might be completely wrong.

MK, mine went back today too. They've been out since the 16th of December though.
I know it's nice to get a break, but do enjoy them! I've learned that so much from Anna, not being sure what could happen or what's going on. Treasure every second with those kids, we never know the future. There's times I could pull out my hair, I'm sure you know what I'm talking about, but man...think of what it would be like to never have another minute on this earth with one of them.
I don't say that to make you feel bad or guilty or anything because it does get really hard, but I do wish that I could find a way to share with other parents exactly how it can feel to know you could lose a child. I never thought I'd be in this position, this stuff is supposed to happen to those people on Lifetime television and not really be real, or to people in other countries who seem to take it all in stride and just have more kids and not seem to have it really bother them, not to my daughter and not in my family, but it is.
But it is, and I am, and I hope you or nobody else has to feel this, but that it does remind everyone that the reality is we never never know the next minute, and while we can't live every second like it's the last, we can generally try to make sure we do try our best to make sure we don't have feelings/actions we'll regret should we have to reflect on them sooner than we thought.
