    Blessed morning, all,

It's 66 here and raining like the dickins! The storms were VERY HEAVY! I thought the whole roof was going to come off. Thank the Lord it didn't start until Vivian had already left for work. She left 15 min's early today so she could get her vacation requests in for next year!

Church attendance was down yesterday, but still, for a new church, we had a good number of people. It was my first service back in five weeks. I was so glad that I was healthy enough to go! We had return visitors and that was a true blessing.

Vivian and I made only two resolutions this year....to try and be more like Christ, and to try and start having devotions and prayer time together again. Other than that, I felt it a sin to try and promise to do something I couldn't....that is why we put that we would "try" to have devotions together every day.

I hope you all had a wonderful New Years Day and htat you have a Christ filled, Lord blessed 2006!

Standingfirm, preacher and dj, welcome and I'm glad to meet you. God bless!

    Sue, hope you're doing terrific!
Cindi, I wish the same for you and all others whom I haven't named.

Love y'all and am praying for you. If you have prayer requests, remember, you can always email me at BrotherAnthony@FaithCCtn.org any time!

Be good, Be kind, Be careful

    Bro. T

    Good morning all,

It's good to see you posting, Tony, and I'm happy you felt well enough to attend church. I know how you miss it when you can't go.

I sure hope we hear from Ed or Betty early today so we will know they're all right!

I have some good friends in OKC and it looks like they may have had to evacuate last night. I will try to call them later this morning.

Gina, we had our pizza New Year's Eve and it was gooooooooooood!

Ron, how am I supposed to lose this weight if'n you keep bringin' those goodies in every night?!?

'One taste on the lips - forever on the hips'

    Hi Ron.

I've had nights like that, but it's usually when I'm overmedicated. :D

I am hungry and will be glad when the 'boys' wake up so I can fix a good breakfast!

Sue, those pancakes look delicious, set me up a plate. Last time I ate pancakes, I ate 23. But I wasn't too hungry. They call me the Pancake King at Tex n Shirley's on Battleground Avenue in Greensboro. And ate them all for only 2.05! It was an all you can eat price. lol

preacher, yeah only 3.... but they were each about 25 minutes long. Any preacher out there will tell ya, and I am sure you know as well. When ya preach'n a hard message for an hour, it is like a full day's work.

Haven't been out in that area in a long time. We lived in Antioch, mom still does. I went to Glencliff HS(long time ago!!) Used to run to Madison a lot in my younger days. Used to fish Percy Priest too, mostly from the bank. Wow! I have been gone a long time!!!

    Good Morning Everyone!

Preacher, it don't sound like you're working much! :D ;)

Tony I'm glad to hear the you are feeling a bit better. I'm still praying!

Standingfirm, can I ask a nosy question? Do you use any sort of software that will take a text page and turn it into an audio page?

I do have a reason for asking. My son suffers from intense, weeks long migraines. During these times he can't read because it makes them worse. He can listen though, so long as the volume is set correctly. He is about to go from elementary to middle school and that means a huge increase in the amount of reading and internet research. Since I've already figured out the school has no clue about these things I'm having to find my own resources.

I'll be in and out today. The kids have some sewing they want me to do.

    Ya'll have a good one!

menagerie, I have JAWS for Windows to translate text to speech, but Microsoft also has a great version of a text to speech engine.

My DragonDictate Naturally Speaking Software also has a text-to-speech engine, so I do have several choices.

If you have Windows Xp, you can check to see if your version has Narrator. It reads pages audibly. It can be found under Start, All Programs, Accessories, Accessibility.

    Good Morning All!

We slept in because we were up late last night.

We are fine. The sun is shining and the sky is clear. We have cooler temps today and the fire danger will not be so great! But the temp will rise again tomorrow and it may be another day like Sunday.

Please continue to pray for all concerned, especially the firefighters and the people who have lost homes. and pray for RAIN for Oklahoma, Texas and I think there may be areas in New Mexico that are having problems also.

Sue, hope your friends in OKC are all right because I have friends in the area that was evacuated also and have not heard from them.

    Will check in again later.

    Everyone have a great day!

    Betty

It sure is good to see you posting, Betty! PTL!

I called my friends in OKC and they are fine. The fire is about 12 miles from them and they don't seem to think they will have a problem. They're praying for rain too!

Doing some decluttering in the basement and listing things on FreeCycle. I have listed about 16 GOOD things and have had 8 of them spoken for already.

Hubby is home today and I'm making good use of him. [IMG]

MK, also see if there's one already on your computer. There's one on mine, you have to go to the settings and look for the little handicapped symbol. I turn it on for tiny things, and listen when you have to type in the numbers or letters you see in a box on secure sites, can never can those right!

I went for a long walk and it started sprinkling, prayed for it to go to OK! We certainly have more than our share. We get fires out here in the summer. It's one of my worst fears, but I'm getting used to it a little, seeing and smelling smoke. The burn bans start in the beginning of July and go through until mid-autumn. After that, it rains enough that you probably couldn't start a fire if you tried!
