I sort of thought that's what I was saying, too...Originally posted by Gina:
My one and only reply, and this is to Lorelei. You said that depression isn't an illness, that it's not a physical ailment so it shouldn't be physically treated.
The brain is very much a physical part of your body, and is subject to not functioning properly just as the rest of your body parts are. I would suggest you get into some medical studies and see what parts of the brain effect which part of your body and emotions, which chemicals affect your body and emotions by their effects on the brain, what putting physical pressure on some parts of the brain will cause the body and emotions to react.
I think everyone in this thread is wrong and the answer is this. (that was said with a grin)
There are both spiritual AND physical elements to depression, sometimes it IS the spiritual that causes physical depression, sometimes the opposite. Either way it needs to be treated spiritually, but if it turns out it is a physical cause then God has also provided doctors and their knowledge of medicines.

bbbbbbut, blackbird, we're on the same side! And look at the shortest verse in the Bible:The thread may close but pastors and their depressions and despair over their flock will continue on and on and on and on--my battle isn't with Gina, SheEagle, Helen, Katie nor anyone--its against myself--I have to overcome and conquer--maneuver and fire! Maneuver and fire! Always advanceing--
Gina, there is no need to boycott!. Those people are long gone.Originally posted by Gina:
Ok, I lied, I'm posting again.
But just to say that those of us who posted similar posts (Helen, She-Eagle, Me, whoever else said the same thing and it was ignored) let's boycott this thread until people look up the information on the physical elements of depression and mental disorders. (ie how the brain is a part of the human body and how it effects us if it is injured etc.)![]()
