Am I taking the statement father than Evan's version of WOTM? I will be clear, because I think that you are right and that I have left room for misunderstanding and may have exaggerated the position. I have no problem with using the 10 Commandments in evangelism. I like Ray Comforts method(even though I find issue with some of his theology) . But believing that we are to put Gentiles under the Mosaic law in order to share the gospel is wrong. Believing that Scripture teaches this is wrong.
Putting anyone under that law is wrong. Paul made that clear. However, the use of the Ten Commandments is only to show people exactly what verses like Romans 3:10;23 means. It is not about holding anyone to the OT law.
I completely agree. I am trying to understand how Evan justifies otherwise through Scripture. His point was that scripture places Gentiles under the Mosaic law. (These were his words, not my interpretation of his words.)
Gentlemen--at this point in these threads, John typically terminates his involvement. I'll be surprised if you see further response from him.
I suspect you are right. We need a new rule. Don't post anything you consider not worth defending. Maybe he will surprise us...probably not.
Defending scripture is a waste of time?
This thread is a waste of my time. No matter what I say John C, Mitchell, and others won't be convinced. It's not like I need your support or encouragement. I am on a team of some 30 or so WOTM evangelists in the area and personally do evangelism regularly with like minded brothers. Have been through WOTM basic training twice, have many of their books, and listen to their podcast daily.
So who gives a rat what you people think? I sure don't. Goodbye!
Gar. Argh. I was really hoping that "defending himself" would be his answer, rather than defending what scripture says...but when you describe it like this, it's almost worse....I think that he is saying Scripture is a waste of his time when compared to his ideas (perhaps to his books). If you think back he has not once defended his ideas with scripture. He will quote scripture but he cannot expound on that scripture and show that it supports his conclusions (probably because they are not "conclusions" - they are his starting point). Rev is right. At this point in his life he desperately needs discipling, but to him that's a "waste of time."
In a way I felt bad asking him to defend his ideas with Scripture (it was obvious he could not), but I was hoping that at least that would point him to God's Word and discipleship. I started not to reply...but this is a debate forum where we should at least be able to honestly look at and test our beliefs. I hoped better of him...but have learned not to expect it.

There are millions or more accurately billions who do not believe the Bible and many of them have more education then any of us do. But truth is not determined by a vote. Truth is truth regardless of how many or how few believe it.There are millions that think as I do including Dr.Begg whom is many times more educated than you.
