"Obama’s private briefings for liberal members of the media, which excluded conservatives, were well-documented. A few:
December 2012: Several journalists reported that MSNBC hosts were meeting privately with President Obama to discuss the impending “fiscal cliff” fight.
May 2013: NPR’s Ari Shapiro reported that President Obama was meeting privately with “lefty columnists,” but hastened to add that there was “nothing nefarious” about it.
November 2013: President Obama met again with liberal journalists, as Obamacare struggled with the failure of healthcare.gov and other problems.
March 2015: Politico’s media reporter, Hadas Gold, reported that “a group of journalists and columnists,” all on the left, met privately with President Obama, but the White House refused to say “who else was at the meeting or what was discussed.”

Christianity has nothing to do with liberal or conservative. We need to realize that the Kingdom of God has nothing to do with the kingdoms of men. As Christians our citizenship is not with the United States of America.
That is true, but liberalism is much worse than being a conservative when compared to biblical standards!Christianity has nothing to do with liberal or conservative. I would argue that it depends on the area of comparison. I would note that Jesus did not take kindly to the conservative Pharisees and Saducees of his day. I believe he called them whitewashed walls. That is true, but liberalism is much worse than being a conservative when compared to biblical standards!
I was thinking mainly along social morals lines!I would argue that it depends on the area of comparison. I would note that Jesus did not take kindly to the conservative Pharisees and Saducees of his day. I believe he called them whitewashed walls.
In the end we all carry nothing of value before the throne of God.
Me too.I was thinking mainly along social morals lines!
The first thing Hitler did was demand nationalized health care.Look at history, the first thing a wanna-be dictator does is limit the press. The last thing a dictator wants is an open uncontrolled press.
No, it wasn't. The Germans already had nationalized health care starting under the Weimar Republic in the mid 1920's.The first thing Hitler did was demand nationalized health care.
I guess my question is, we all got tired of everything being blamed on Bush. Will we now resort to blaming Obama for the next 4-8 years?
Pro alternate lifestyles, relative morals, no religion, oro abortion, that is group talking about here...Me too.
Those are certainly one area of moral issues, in which the left are not in Biblical alignment.Pro alternate lifestyles, relative morals, no religion, oro abortion, that is group talking about here...
Excep that many time social justice for liberals means agrrement with abortion, gay marriages, redistributing wealth, loss of religious freedoms etc! Those are certainly one area of moral issues, in which the left are not in Biblical alignment.
There are many issues of showing practical love and concern for justice of which the right could take notes and learn from the left.
We could debate it, but I didn't say institute, I said demand, just as he demanded a minimum wage. No, it wasn't. The Germans already had nationalized health care starting under the Weimar Republic in the mid 1920's.
The first thing Hitler did on Day One was set new elections for six weeks hence. Then he promised the industrialists he would rearm Germany, promising them government contracts. On Day Three he started banning Communist meetings and shutting down their press. So, yes, Crabby is correct--shutting down the press is the first thing he did. Along with that was Hitler's priority of eliminating opposition parties. (a priority of all despots.)
Three weeks after he came to power he accused the Communists of being on the verge of launching a revolution and on February 27, 1933, the Reichstag burned down. (84 years ago yesterday).

Then why are you here opinionating in these discussions in a DEBATE FORUM called News/Current Events (in a substantive way at that) ?Christianity has nothing to do with liberal or conservative. Do I make the false assumption that Christians are posting on a Baptist Discussion board? Then why are you here opinionating in these discussions in a DEBATE FORUM called News/Current Events (in a substantive way at that) ?

News and Current events all fall under the umbrella of God's Kingdom and Sovereign rule over the kingdoms of men.
Our first and primary citizenship is in God's Kingdom. Our role of ambassador is within the foreign kingdoms of men.
I know that you mean well ... still you seem to forget that God has ordained and placed governments over and around us all while we live on this earth! Try reading Romans; 13:1-2 as a starting point! Romans 13:1-2Living Bible (TLB)
13 Obey the government, for God is the one who has put it there. There is no government anywhere that God has not placed in power. 2 So those who refuse to obey the laws of the land are refusing to obey God, and punishment will follow.
Also: Matthew 22:15-22 Then the Pharisees went out and laid plans to trap him in his words. 16 They sent their disciples to him along with the Herodians. “Teacher,” they said, we know you are a man of integrity and that you teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. You aren’t swayed by men, because you pay no attention to who they are. 17 Tell us then, what is your opinion? Is it right to pay taxes to Caesar or not?” 18 But Jesus, knowing their evil intent, said, “You hypocrites, why are you trying to trap me? 19 Show me the coin used for paying the tax.” They brought him a denarius, 20 and he asked them, “Whose portrait is this? And whose inscription?” 21 “Caesar’s,” they replied. Then he said to them, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.” 22 When they heard this, they were amazed. So they left him and went away.
