My church for awhile had 4 different worship leaders, and one had Sunday church hymnals, another Contemporary, another classic, and last Sunday was Youth take over, so Christian rock. Pastors just stated if you have a preference and conviction, just show up at the style you like, and let others same to style they like , and do not bad mouth and grumble if some are enjoying what you do not

He doesn't have to stop singing and playing a guitar because he made his heart right with God.

If his heart is right with God, He will use it to His glory.

One of my uncles was one of the best Christians I've ever known, He inspired me to study the Scripture early in my life.

He would pick up his guitar and start singing hymns in a heartbeat, and was good at it.

Back in the mid to late 50's rock and roll started and really came on the scene in the 60's/70's.

The Church went into a frenzy over that beat, and the drums, they were calling it a device of Satan.

Now it's the norm in the Church and no one is saying anything.

He is a VERY devout Christian man. I've known about his dedication to Christ for years.

I remember hearing him say on a radio program once about the classic oldies - "I've just got to stop here a minute. I have to ask, have you read your Bible today? I have."

I see now with this post of yours. "Inventors of evil things" - you believe inanimate objects can be evil in and of themselves. That's how you interpret Paul's words in Romans 1:30

You believe that humans skulls anointed with bodily sexual fluids are the EXACT same "thing" as a drum sold in a music store ergo, drums played in marching bands and church and studios must be as demonic and evil as the skull.

You believe Paul, in Romans 1, to be listing over 20 evil ways of being or doing or thinking or behaving and 1 way of making inanimate objects possess evil in their lifelessness.

I am going to have to differ with you. I do not believe that inanimate objects can be evil. Not a baseball bat, spoon, drum, ball of yarn, car, camera, hairbrush, or jar of pickle. They can be used for evil by an evil human with an evil heart, but they do not possess evil in them. They do not possess divinity.

God's Word tells us what inanimate objects possess. NOTHING!! People worship them sometimes, but they, so says the Bible, "cannot speak, cannot hear, cannot walk, cannot use hands, cannot see" and are powerless to save.

Paul is not talking about drums in church. He is speaking about people who invent new ways to commit evil.

I'm just sorry that it took me this long to figure out you are talking about drums in church and trying to goad us into agreeing with you.

Sadly, you are so very wrong in so many of these remarks. I do not hate drums and guitars---I hate sinful ways in which musical instruments are played by wicked people. I hate the musical instruments and kinds of music that wicked people have made by heeding earthly, sensual, and demonic wisdom.

I actually teach sacred guitar to believers and have ministered numerous times at my church on my classical guitar. My church often uses various kinds of drums as well as numerous other instruments in our services.
