Actually the Chair of the JCS (as well as each chief) do NOT run the military - they are basically advisors and set some policy - it is the Sec of the DOD and the POTUS that actually run the military.
So now we have a guy as sec of the DOD who has never served running the military.:Rolleyes

Oh yea, the POTUS:Laugh

Can you say civilians?!?

Are you aware of the oath everyone in the military takes?

i asked about the Spurs condition because I’m being told it does require surgery
Yes, "to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." Also "obey the orders of the President." But, I understand that a military person can refuse to obey an illegal order. They would be subject to a court martial but it would not necessarily be successful.
Some of the generals have hinted that if Trump decided to launch a preemptive nuclear first strike they would not obey the order. I'm afraid we're degenerating into a third world banana republic. It's widely said by his hard core supporters that if he loses the 2020 election there will not be a peaceful change of leadership for the first time in American history. Many here have called for a "second civil war" and are hoarding weapons along with a lot of other so-called "Second Amendment people" to use in a treasonous fight to keep Trump in office.

We're talking about treason. I'm not convinced that it wouldn't happen.

Right. Ever read the book or watch the movie, ‘Seven Days in May?’

He didn’t honor them the way our country always did, and that is by being in Arlington at the appointed place and at the appointed time. The entire world, especially the families of our countries fallen sailors, soldiers, Marines did not see the presence of their highest elected official their yesterday. Then if they inquired as to his whereabouts on this most solemn of occasions they would have found that he was in Japan OF ALL PLACES (playing golf and watching a sumo wrestling match). And I’m petty!?! And you are the one pictured in the uniform, well ‘Semper Fidelis’ brother.

Rest assured he has the support of our military. Your pettiness not withstanding

We're talking about treason patriotism . I'm not convinced that it wouldn't happen.

And you Dims best remember that if you try to remove our duly elected President through your corruption!

You realize that civilian control of the military is kind of a time honored, American tradition, right? That Mattis had to get a waiver for not meeting the 7 year time requirement between military retirement and service as SoD?

The following is from that link:

There are other ways to be of service than combat. And John Gordon Trump more or less eliminated the threat of Hitler’s air corp by inventing radar for the military. Donald, the now President, earned a deferment by becoming John’s bodyguard.

You can be absolutely positively sure beyond any shadow of a doubt that there is a connection between John Gordon Trump, Donald John Trump, Nikola Tesla, and nuclear weapons. The Hydrogen Bomb dropped on Japan was detonated by the device manufactured from the designs of Nikola Tesla and John Gordon Trump.

Nikola Tesla died in New York. All of his writing were confiscated by the Government and turned over to John Gordon Trump for review. The Trump family may have earned a lifetime deferment.
John Gordon Trump did NOT invent radar.
Radar - History of radar

Hmmm, because I don’t tell anyone anything unless it’s necessary, and even then I will think on it first.
Whatever. I just knew you were gonna come with that line. You didn’t mind throwing your family members under the bus before you said nice things about them, making it all better, eh? Didn’t mind sharing that. I, personally, would question your service because you show no humility, & lack real reverence for it in your profuse comments. Usually those who’ve served......it becomes a part of them. That, as I said, is my take. You never mind raking on anyone else here, or demanding things from them, but I get it. You can share what you like to share, & you do.

I generally take an aggressive stance that’s true. And I have never thrown my family under a bus, that’s a lie. And if I shared with this board several of my concerns for my family’s health and safety I did it out of love and concern for them... and I did so because of several friends on here who have the heart to understand and the Christian love to pray to the Lord.

Look, I’ve said my piece, but don’t call me a liar. Just last week you started your thread with ‘She was a mess a few years ago.’ I’m pretty sure she didn’t want that broadcast to the internet, but you made it better after that. Should be on a Baptist forum that everyone would be supportive & pray for anyone here who is in need, as I surely would. Let’s move on now, I think we’re done.

Don’t think something.... know something. This is a fault you should correct.

My niece glories in her experiences and has overcome them. She has no shame in rising like a Phoenix from the ashes. She has accomplished quite allot and is continually achieving and we call that ‘ continuous learning’ meant not to fix blame as with identifying problems and overcome them and that is what beautiful young woman does. And yea, we’re done!

Yeah, don’t give me any credit for cutting you some slack, Mr.Last Word. It’s your story, as always.
