Grasshopper; scripture says there is a difference in sin, Jesus Himself said so.

1Jo 5:16If any man see his brother sin a sin [which is] not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.

5:17All unrighteousness is sin: and there is a sin not unto death.

1Jo 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

1Jo 5:4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our faith.

No, I am saying that your belief system (like mine) colors what you read in Scripture...

I am sure Scripture is important to you...
But it is clear by your posts here that when you read a scripture that deals with the kingdom, eschatology, salvation, etc., you look at it through the ME philosophy.

I am not kicking you, just pointing this out.

I do the same thing when I read scripture..
What I already believe colors what I read.

    YOu better be!!!

I wish we were all objective when it came to the Bible... but truthfully, it is impossible to open the Bible up, and forget everything we have already learned...

So what we have previously learned colors what we now are learning...

This is one reason we have so many different interpretations.

    We are subjective beings...

Tim thanks for your clarification and I would agree that we all do what you have suggested. But in the final analysis there is one correct set of glasses to see Scripture through and then there are all the rest of the man-colored glasses.

And of course we all think we have on the right pair :).

I don't know that I would say it is impossible3 to forget everything we have already learned in the sense that we can not overcome. Of course we never "forget" it, but I think we can approach Scripture in an objective manner so as to change what we believe should Scripture dictate a change.

I've had to change a lot of what I grew up believing, but then again a lot of what I grew up believing was still true as well.

But you are correct in that it is hard for us not to eventually talk about the kingdom in almost every topic, again because the coming seventh day of rest is the climax of Scripture. It's what all of Scripture is pointing to. We have very little detail about what happens in eternity and I believe that is for a reason. Our focus is to be on the King and His coming Kingdom and making sure that we have a part with Him.

    Thanks again for clarifying!

1Cor10:5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. 6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Heb4:1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4 For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.
5 And in this place again, If they shall enter into my rest.
6 Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief:
7 Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts.
8 For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day.
9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do.

The children of Israel that sinned after the blood of the lamb covered their door post in Egypt which is a (type of the blood of Christ) were punished with death not torment in Hell forever.

Notice Bro Bob that sexual immorality was listed in 1 Cor10 maybe this passage would help you see the that while these Israelites had spiritual life verse1-4 they still could walk after the flesh and be punished with physical death and RE or rest exculsion shown in Hebrews. If the "types" or "examples" were studied I think salvation would be a little easier to understand.

Depending on how you view Israels salvation is going to effect your doctrine on how one might spend time paying for those sins.Do you think the whole nation of Israel was saved? If their not saved the scripture tells us their payment for sin is simply death and exculsion. If they are saved the scripture tells us that their payment is death and exclusion.I'm not so prideful to think I might change you opinion but I am interest in how would explain yourself as I'm sure in the course of sharing the gospel of the kingdom I will come across some with a similar opinion and I want to be able to understand them as well as minister to them.

I hardly think I am "invading" as I was raised I "good ole Baptist" seeing as how that seems to be the only requirement I will allow myself to feel as at home as everyone else.As for joining the fun it is your post which happened to interested me most this Sunday morning and seeing how my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ have shown little enters in fellowship with me at "church" I decide to look at the scripture with you on this wonderful day that is to remind us of the sabbath day in which we will rest from our works. It baffels me how you lash out bitterly to responses to your post yet it is obvious that you threats are started to provoke division and directed at kingdom believers. You say please use scripture I have. You asked a question it was responded to you reacted and become angry.Would you be less angry if no one responded to you?I image if it was up to you you would banish all who believe as I do from your bully box.And I fear what you would do if you had the power to do something more sever.Where's the Love bro?You don't know me you don't know my relationship with our Savior yet you presume to pass jugdment ?1 Corintian 13 you might want to read it .I believe in accountablity and study accountablity and I talk about accountablity this is scriptural meat to me.If we didn't discuss these doctrine on BB what would you have to write about ?I image you would have childish discussions about politics social issues and endless debates on free will and predestation you've be saved from your bordom.Have you cosidered a big thank you to those who have cause you think and question your man made tradition?I am only a youth a mere 23 years old and it is people in church like you that drove myself and hordes of others my age to immorality and a life wasted in weekend party to party. With their lips they say we have Christ, we love you Ben, that is my name .Then talk about how much I need a hair cut and nicer shoes, untill I started studing a little more than a year with Christian who had read 1 Cor 13 and belief they will be judged by Christ I wanted nothing to do with "good ole baptist" forever or the ages. What was you answer to my response again?

Image? Regardless, yes, I would. It's works-based heresy and it has no place on a Baptist Board. But seeing as BB doesn't care, and that you guys are just going to keep overrunning BB, this should become a happy meeting place for all of you. Enjoy it.

I am not going to debate ME again, but I want to remind the ME'rs of what Christ did for you.

Isa 53:5 But He was pierced through for our transgressions, He was crushed for our iniquities; The chastening for our well-being {fell} upon Him, And by His scourging we are healed.
Isa 53:6 All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the LORD has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him.

I will ask this question again:

When you stand before Christ in the judgement, who's righteousness will gain you entrance into the kingdom?

In answer to the OP. How many sins does it take to end up in hell? Just one.

    Their own.

They also want believers who have escaped bondage to go back into bondage again. Our freedom drives them crazy with jealousy. I often wonder if they're haunted by their own lusts. They're so angry that someone might be able to do what they want to do, and get away with it, that they think the solution is to threaten everyone else with 1,000 years of hell.

Even if that is not true for all ME folks, ME folks seem to think that if you don't threaten Christians with 1,000 years in hell, the only possible outcome will be that Christians will live a life of total licentiousness, running around commiting adultery and killing people for fun while doing drugs, etc. The idea that we are motivated by God's love, not fear of punishment, is foreign to them. Now THAT is sad.

Who's righteousness?? Why of course, it will be the righteousness of the Lord Jesus Christ which was imputed to me---placed in me, if you would!!

Jesus said that unless our righteousness exceed the righteousness of the Pharasees---we will in no way enter the kingdom

Well---there is but one righteousness that exceeds theirs---HIS!!! Amen?? And His becomes mine when I receive Him by faith---and take Him at His word!!!

How many sins does it take to end up in hell??? Adam's!!

    Your friend,
    Bro. David

    Read Matthew 5.

God also thought it was important to threaten saved peole with the threat of gehanna for certain actions.

Read the lists of sins in Galatians and elsewhere that will get you excluded from entering the coming Kingdom.

But, I guess in your eyes, God is pretty negative and judgmental, eh? He didn't really, really, really, TRULY mean it the way he said it, I guess, according to your theology.

I couldn't agree more. However, I've seen at least one ME guy point to that verse as meaning that we have to work even harder than the Pharisees.

    That was my point. :)

We can never achieve the righteousness that God requires. We have to put on the righteousness of Christ through faith in order to be with Him when we die. If we end up in hell, it will be because we thought we were righteous without Him.

I would still love for an ME'r to answer my question. Who's righteousness will get you into the kingdom?

I have yet to get a response.

You're exposing their pride. So it's not likely you'll get a response. Either that, or they're so busy studying the etymology of every word in the Bible to come up with bizarre support for their doctrines that they can't be bothered with simple questions.
