So...then you won't advertise your home as a gun free zone then...So I guess you want robbers to think you may have a gun. So you are using the 2nd A in a secondary way. Got it.

Also, since you are under God's protection you obviously refused the Covid shots.
Again, you need to read Proverbs 2.

Would you give up your guns to the government since God is over the government and ordains them to protect you? Read Romans 13 and 1 Peter 2.

It's interesting how a call to biblical obedience is not viewed as conservative by you.

Looks like Christians in Canada are facing that question right now.

It’s a little more complicated in the US, however, with 2nd amendment protections. Even if the “government” said give up your weapons, the cases could take years to get a final court opinion.

BTW, our government leader has told us to transition away from gas powered cars and into electric cars. What electric car have you purchased?

If you are still driving a gas powered car, aren’t you violating Romans 13? Hasn’t your gas powered car become an idol for you? Give it up!!!

peace to you

Does the government require us to use electric vehicles? If/when they do, I will have to obey.
Why do you bristle at obeying what God has put in place?

Any car sold, not any car driven.
I live in a big city. I can ride bicycle, walk, take the bus or the train. I can work from home. But, mostly, Jesus promises to provide what I need and his prayer teaches me to ask for what I need, not what I want.
Finally, Jesus tells us to let tomorrow take care of itself and not to worry. Instead, we walk in step with the Spirit today. How are we doing today, Salty?

You know Austin - it doesn't really take much thinking to figure out what is going on
I would try to explain - but I don't see how you would be able to understand something so simple

The Providence of our King is what is going on. God created us to be ambassadors of reconciliation, not defenders of stuff.

I only “bristle” at your continuous personal attacks in these debates.

My point, AustinC is that you use the term idol so loosely it can apply to anything. That is, anything you disagree with. As such, the word “idol” has no meaning when you use it because everyone knows you are blowing smoke and they don’t take you or your arguments seriously.

That’s a pity, too, because sometimes you make sound biblical arguments and just when I’m about to “agree” with you, you make some outrageous personal attack that thoroughly nullifies the good argument.

All done now

peace to you

In this point, guns truly have become idols in some Christians lives. It is obvious this is the case with some on the BB.

Could we give up everything if God demanded it from us? If not, then we have idols in our house.

So still no answer to what I actually wrote. Another thing libs do. I'll try again:

Again, to claim some on BB see guns as an idol and that is ‘obvious’ is simply untrue and so outrageous as to make any other argument you make dismissed out of hand.

Your second point is a good point, but is obscured by the hyperbole.

Question: If the US government follows Canada and ban guns, and such a law was upheld by the SCOTUS as constitutional, should Christians comply?

Biblically, that answer is “obvious”. We should comply.

peace to you
