I'd vote for an "anti-crack unit". But a crack unit ?

IAB16, are you now typing in tongues ?

Hmmmm. How did someone change my sign??? It must have been a mod on this forum. That's a first!

No rules were broken. I was just practicing prevention.

A word to the wise....

Carry on.

Is God telling you to kill someone?
No, but that's not the issue. Why do you keep trying to change the subject.

I am asking a simple question. Can you not give a simple answer? Why keep obfuscating?

Is killing stupid if God commands it?

And no, this has nothing to do with pride. This is a discussion. TP said something and I am trying to explore exactly what he means. Why he doesn't answer is beside me.

I have no clue! That thing is not supposed to change!

I just reported my own post and asked that the sign be removed.

I'm afraid what it might come up with next.

In regards to the death penalty discussion, let us ponder...

How can you witness to a dead man? Should Christians really be calling for the execution of someone, or openly endorsing it? I say we look like hypocrites if we do.

If we cannot forgive the worst of this world, God will not forgive the worst in us. (Math 6:14,15)

I would have much rather have seen Saddam Hussein put in prison for the rest of his life than hanged. At least then I know that he could be properly evangelized before his death. I'll admit, I cried the night they hanged him. It saddened me to think that this man died as a lost soul.

As Christians, I think if we spent more time on God and less time minding the business of the government, a revival would start like none other.

I totally agree..

1Cor:5:12: For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?

Christians have no business getting involved in the Government. Jesus didn't.

Not at all. God instituted capital punishment as an indication of the value of the image of God in man. If we do not call for capital punishment in clear and undisputed cases of murder (stamping out the image of God) we show both disrespect for life, and more importantly disrespect for God whose image we are not protecting and whose command we are not obeying.

Witnessing to someone is not the be all and end all of life. We should proclaim the gospel faithfully to all. But we must also obey God and leave people's souls in his hand.

Capital punishment is not the purview of individuals, but of civil government. It is commanded by God, and therefore, in answer to the question TP refuses to answer, all killing is not stupid. It serves a purpose, particularly in capital punishment.

If we cannot forgive the worst of this world, God will not forgive the worst in us. (Math 6:14,15)
Capital punishment is not about forgiveness. Forgiveness does not remove the consequences of sin. We can forgive Saddam (although he didn't sin against me), and still seek the death penalty against him.

At least then I know that he could be properly evangelized before his death.
How do you know he wasn't properly evangelized (whatever that means)? The Bible tells us that he knew the existence and nature of God, and if he died without God, he did so in willfull rebellion (cf. Romans 1:18ff.)

I'm just trying to imagine why God would tell you or I to kill someone.

God is not the state, and capital punisment/war are state operations. However much W claims to talk to God, I find no evidence that God told him to kill Saddam or anyone else. I have never heard God tell me to kill someone, and I doubt God would.

There is no "simple answer" because it's a wildly rhetorical question. It's like asking, "what if the Dalai Lama offered you a carrot?"

Why do you all think that it was wrong when God's people wanted a King "to be like the other Nations"?

They werent supposed to be involved in the same operations as were "the other Nations"

Tragic,

Im talking about Christians thinking they are supposed to run the Governments of this world.

I believe that its wrong.

God didnt want His people to be like the other nations and have a "King" over them...

I guess I was getting into the separation of Church and State issue.

My Church believes in the separation of Church and State. Because ultimately they (Church and State together) will be the ones who are going to persecute Christians who dont think as they do. Thats why people came over here to begin with is to get away from persecution.

Jesus said "My Kingdom is not of this world" John 18:36

But maybe Im getting off the subject, I havent kept up with all the posts on here.
