President Trump must get on Twitter ASAP and begin touting how wonderful oxygen is.
Those people need Jesus.Difference being the white people in question WANT to become Nazis.
I'm white and I've never been a Nazi (charges of racism predate current events, of course there are Neo-Nazis, but @Revmitchell has not been one to advocate racism so it is probable you are providing your own context).Who were never Nazis? You have completely gone off the reservation. That is exactly what they are and what they claim to be. I'm sure everyone will give you a pass for this though. This IS defending them. Never thought I would see the guy who slings the term "unAmerican" all the time do this. Truly unreal. Stick your head in the sand everybody.

I am not saying that you are calling him a racist. I am saying that from past experience I do not think @Revmitchell is defending the white supremacists (or making light of the event).I didn't say he was advocating racism. Like...not even close. Did you miss the news last weekend or something?

I watched the news but I do not allow contemporary events to interpret every comment that comes my way. The context, if it points to the event or to Trump's statement, points more to the Democrat's use of the event for its own political gain. But it seems to me that the context points to the removal of statues in the South.
No. Implying is something that I would have done - but my intent was to justify the reason I believed his post did not mean what you took it to me. You inferred. You kind of implied I did though right. I mean you brought up the term racism when nobody else did for some reason. He also is denying these people weren't Nazis. Do you need to see pictures or something?
Yes, Revmitchell's posting of the meme implies that he thinks the neo-Nazis at Charlottesville aren't Nazi's, in effect denying that they are Nazi's. Which is basically denying that some of them wore Nazi uniforms, wore swastika armbands, carried torches ala Nazi rallies and carried Nazi swastika flags.I didn't say he was advocating racism. Like...not even close. Did you miss the news last weekend or something?
I'll wait for anyone with a shred of integrity for calling this out for what is.
Not sure if a neo nazi is a real Nazi. Also don't know what practical difference it makes. So, I don't know if there were real Nazis there or not, but I do know there was a heaping pile of Communists there.Yes, Revmitchell's posting of the meme implies that he thinks the neo-Nazis at Charlottesville aren't Nazi's, in effect denying that they are Nazi's. In effect, he's saying there really weren't any Nazis there.
A breathtaking denial.

Not all of the people arguing to keep confederate statues are doing so out of racism. And not all who are doing so out of racist beliefs are acting on those beliefs violently. There have been people on this forum arguing that the statues should remain because it represents a period in our history that needs to be remembered. Are you calling them Nazis????
They are depending on how the word is used. Nazi can refer the ideologies of national socialism (which we see in those hate groups) as well as the German political party. I think it's usually used to incite an attitude rather than deal with actual issues. But @InTheLight is right that the term can be used to Nazism of white supremacist. That said, it needs to be clarified that this is really what @Revmitchell was trying to convey. Not sure if a neo nazi is a real Nazi. Also don't know what practical difference it makes. Perhaps. I don't see how it makes sense that anyone would suggest there were no Nazi's there as this is an obvious fact. Typically when someone denies an obvious fact it is a matter of definition or an issue of a statement taken out of context. Personally, I did not see that the post necessitated the context you provided simply because there is a controversy over what is actually stated in that post (excluding Nazis....i.e., the post is applicable excluding the events of Charlottesville).Subject of this thread is the asinine meme that Revmitchell posted claiming there weren't Nazis in Charlottesville.
And here you are rationalizing things--"not all are racists, not all are violent..." Man, have I heard that a lot around here. Is that the Faux News, Rush Limbaugh, Breitbart News, Sean Hannity talking points?
UoT is not calling then Nazis, he's astonished that Revmitchell would post something saying there were no Nazi's there. Get it?
