How is it a "nasty personal attack" to point out that the unregenerate go to Hell? I thought that was pretty basic Christian doctrine.
And I showed you the scripture verses that declare who is saved, but when scripture doesn't jive with your agenda you explain it away

Staff made me change my name.

Would you like to tell me which Old Testament verse you were referring to so I can show you how you're taking it out of context?

So, you claimed I was referring to an Old Testament verse, which anyone can read my posts here and see that I did not, and now that I've asked you to back up your latest lie, you're now asking me to come up with an answer for you?

You're the one who made the claim. You tell us.

First of all, it's jibe, not "jive".

Second, it has nothing to do with "my agenda". This is Christianity 101. My only agenda here is pursuing sound exegesis.

Third, what you showed us were snippets of verses, taken out of context, that affirm your belief. Nothing more.

I didn't lie.... you said scripture bans what I'm doing. It doesn't unless you want to take an old testament verse out of context. So please cite the verse that bans what I'm doing

Actually, you've been caught in numerous lies about what scripture says, about what I've said, about what Christianity teaches, etc.

So please cite the verse that bans what I'm doing

You made the claim that I cited a verse or passage of scripture out of context. So show us that verse or passage and explain how I've taken it out of context.

I said you were taking an old testament verse out of context... I didn't say you specified which one...but you said the Bible bans what I'm doing. In order to say that, one must take an OT verse out of context...there is nothing in the new testament or from the words of Christ that addresses what I'm doing....if taken in proper context, there is nothing in the OT that addresses what I'm doing either

Yes, claiming I took a verse out of context is saying that I cited a specific verse.

Clearly, at this point, you have no evidence to back up your latest lie.

So, with that said, it's time to invoke Proverbs 26:4 and leave you to your folly.

But you also claimed Matthew 19 was your source and then showed that you had no idea what the passage says. So, your opinion on what is Biblical and what is not is pretty much meaningless. (Sorry, moderators, if you consider that "nasty", but it's the truth.)

You were taking a verse out of context because you said the Bible forbids what I'm doing. In proper context, the Bible condemns seeking out mediums, fortune tellers, and people who summon Spirits from Sheol.

Christ redeemed the human race, and after that happened, Christians began having apparitions of souls in heaven , and the church investigated and discerned that these heavenly beings were assisting the world with prayer and could be invoked as the Communion of saints.

That practice is not condemned in scripture. In the OT Christ had not yet atoned for sin, so the Spirits of the deceased had not yet been redeemed. Context is everything!

Hi, Matt.

I recognize your picture from another forum where you go by a superhero's name. I like that name. We've met over there. I'm Jayne there if you remember me and Scarlett O. here.

At the other forum, there is no denominational affiliation and more and more different views are discussed.

I can tell you from having been here for 16 years that this is not really the place to teach anything other than Protestant and most specifically, Baptist doctrine. What I'm saying is that your beliefs in saints and Mary being alive and working in your life are not going to go over well here. Frankly, they don't go over well with me, either. I'm not saying to stop your discussion, but I'm just saying that you won't get an amen here from what you are teaching.

I also know of your troubles as you share sometimes over there. I have prayed for you many times and will continue. Welcome here and just understand what I have tried to say in love and kindness.

Matt you may want to consider the following passage when you pray the rosary:

Matthew 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Also, in all honesty if you are praying the rosary you are Catholic IMO.
Do you go to mass? If so do you receive Holy Communion?

Matt, the history of the RCC and baptistic non-papal Christians has been a bloody one which is another reason promotion of Marian theology won't be appreciated here at the BB.

God uses other mediators often... it's how Moses saved Israel from destruction. Christians share in the priesthood of Jesus Christ and share in his powers of mediation. Paul said it is no longer I who lives but Christ, Mary can say the same thing
All that has come to an end, Jesus is the last of the revelators, God Himself come in the flesh.
All which came before Him are subservient to Him.

Hebrews 1:1 God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets,
2 has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;

Acts 4
10 "let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole.
11 "This is the 'stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.'
12 "Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved."

Good to see you Jayne. I'm actually not trying to get anybody to pray to Mary.... I'm just trying to get Christians to stop calling other Christians Pagan

Matt I think you know the truth and that is why you are here at the BB trying to convince yourself and not us here at the BB of the deadness of the religion (Catholicism) you practice and that you know in your heart is wrong.

LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

Being a "convert" from the Church of Rome I went this way myself for two or so years. After trying to justify my Catholicism.
I finally yielded to the Holy Ghost and the truth.

2 Corinthians 6
16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Unless you do you will spin your spiritual wheels in enslavement to Rome until the day you die.

Glad to hear it Matt, it was a struggle for me.

I have prayed for you.

You must do your part as well in your enlightenment.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Thank you for the prayer. Even if it's a short prayer like " may Matt may find Enlightenment in Jesus name". The name of Jesus has power , and our Lord did say ask anything of the father in my name and it will be granted.

Have you been baptized in the Holy Spirit? Received the gift of tongues?

In my early days but I believe I have grown out of that and am now watching, waiting for the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ.

I have on some occasions in my youth experienced being "filled with the Holy Ghost".
But it was an experience to bring me to a greater place :

Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
