    Its on tonight tim

The matchup we have been waiting for! Detroit has not had to face a team as deep as the Spurs, this should be fun.

My prediction is San Antonio in six!

I am going to say the Pistons in 5 or the Spurs and the guys in the black and white stripped shirts in seven.

Tim, I see you started making excuses for a Pistons series loss before the game started last night. [IMG]

So, if the Pistons lose the series, it's because the referees are the 6th, 7th and 8th man that the Spurs have, right? It wouldn't be because the Spurs would be the better team, would it?

If the Pistons don't score more than 69 in a game, they won't win 1 game, much less 4.

I agree Tim, what a terribly called game, and I think it went both ways. The NBA has to do somthing about the reffing.

I expect the Pistons to win game 2 IF the reffs are fair. I think they do play better defense. But Detroit's big men are going to have to shoot the ball, I think that Big Ben should be able to put up good numbers in this series. If Detroit scores like they did in the first half, it could be tuff for the Spurs.

I do like Manu though- in part because I am a missionary to Argentina. If you saw the special at half time you got a little picture of the mission field God has led me to.

Actually I think detroit needs scoring out or rasheed. he is the only big man detroit has that has the ability to score with duncan.

Detroit has not met a team this year that can play defense the way the spurs can. rip hamilton is in trouble with bowen guarding him, and genobli is tough to stop. Duncan, along with shaq, could be mvp every year - he showed it again last night

I think Ben is haveing a problem getting any respect as the defensive player of the year. Manu certainly got the calls his way all night against Ben. From the replys they looked like bad calls. Manu cetianly got the calls as he took the charges but when he ran straight into the middle out of control and pistons were set there was a no call. Hmmm. Anyways the Spurs are good. I will not take that from them. When my son and I were watching in the first qter I told him I wasn't sure the Spurs were being defensed or just nervous and by the end of the game they perked up.

Lets hope the pistons can still one at SA. Then we got a series.

I think Rahseed is one of the best talented players in thed NBA but how do you light a fire under his butt? I have never seen him play with any real intenseity.

Manu and Parker showed what they were made of though. It looked at the first qter that the pistons D might hold them. But that disappeared by the 2nd half.

IT is an uphill battle now for the Pistons. Can't wait till sunday..

Can some coach outlaw headbands? It seems the only real purpose they have is to be taken off in frustration and thrown!

Big bens temper tantrum cost detroit a T last night. After that it was lights out detroit! It looked to me like he had position - but it also looked like a flop on his part - which may be what the ref responded to.

Saw the same thing last year in dallas a few time with a couple of thier players as well.

I know what your saying JimmyC but I also can understand how he gets frustrated. He was planted both times, he is the defensive player of the year and those weren't the only calls that went against him. I mean Ginobli flopped quite a few times and got the call.
After saying that though I don't think it cost them the game it was the response they gave. They fell apart again. Had chances to come baCK but missed the shots so I will not blame the refs.
I am thinking that Brown's rule if you get two fouls you sit out till the 2nd half is messing us up. But then he has always coached that way. Would of like to have seen Rasheed and Prince stay in and play.

My Pistons are falling apart but you can never count them out till the end. If there is a first team that ever comes back from 3-0 they would be it. They had their backs up against the wall against the Heat and here they are. I see the Spurs are much more consitant but I would still be scared to bet against the Pistons.
Got tickets to 3 and 4. Kids got a suite from my daughters work. Going to be fun.

Do you actually think the stumbling, no offense (scratch that, forgot Suns series), men in black could stand with the mighty Pistons? Well, folks around here are going wild, kinda like Cubs fans. It is just a blessing that the Spurs have made it this far, especially with their out-moded coach.

A great, great win for the Spurs last night. [IMG] After they knocked off the rust in the first six minutes of the game from being off so long that saw them fall behind Detroit by 13 points, the Spurs outscored the Pistons by 28 points the rest of the game. [IMG]

I still think it will take six games(the usually lose one game per series on poor free throw shooting) for the Spurs to put the Pistons away but I wouldn't be surprised to see them sweep the Pistons unless the Pistons find a way to get past the Spurs' defense and score several more points than 69. Just think, after being up 17-4, the Pistons scored only 52 points in the last 3.5 quarters. [IMG]

The Pistons are playing an entire team in this series, not merely one or two star players with a supporting cast as they did when playing the teams in the Eastern Conference side of the playoffs.

The Pistons shot a very poor 37.7% from the field and were massively
    outrebounded. [IMG]

The refs called 19 fouls on the Pistons and 17 fouls on the Spurs, which ended up having the Spurs shoot a grand total of 1 free throw more than Detroit.

You Detroit fans have a nice evening now, y'hear? [IMG]

You Spurs fans keep on with the nice time that started last evening. [IMG]

And your team is gonna lose the series and may even continue to embarrass you and the NBA if it doesn't score mroe than a high school team does when playing only a 32 minute game. [IMG]

Kennyboy, Kennyboy....you think I am embarrassed. No five guys can beat 8. Win or lose if you think I will be embarrassed by the Pistons making it to the finals for the second year, where was SA, then you don't know me too well. They are a great group of hard working guys that ignore the press and play teamball. If you think this series is over you ain't been watching the Pistons this year.

You are still a silly boy Kenny. ;)

We won't mention the spurs 68 performance against the mavericks! yer a funny funny funny boy.

The Spurs little balck and white striped freinds kind of helped keep the Pistons at 69. I expect Detroit to win game 2, and I do not expect the Spurs to win in Detroit. It won't happen.

How did the referees help the Spurs win? Look at the facts. The Pistons had 2 more fouls called on them. The Pistons shot 1 whole free throw less than the Spurs.

So now, if ya'll want to stop sounding like kindergarteners, ya'll ought to shut up about the refs in game 1. The facts are the facts, Pistons fans. Evidently, ya'll can't handle the truth. [IMG]

Who knows, maybe the Pistons will graduate from a high school scoring level to a college scoring level in game 2. [IMG]

But since the Spurs play great team defense that may be difficult for the Pistons to do.

If the Pistons don't step it up, there's a large possibility that by the time this series is over that the Pistons will look more like chumps than champs. [IMG]

You Pistons fans have been dishing it out on this board during these playoffs. Now ya'll are on the receiving end. We'll see if ya'll can take it as well as ya'll can dish it out. :D

Come on, Pistons fans, at least sound like winners not whiners even if your team is going down in flames. [IMG]

By the way you breezed right over the fact that boys only got 68 pts during a loss to the Mavericks. High school basketball...hmmmm must be going around. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Well, Tim, why don't you answer the question about the refs based on the facts, eh?

"How did the referees help the Spurs win? Look at the facts. The Pistons had 2 more fouls called on them. The Pistons shot 1 whole free throw less than the Spurs."

Now, you should either answer the question or else quit whining like a high school girl who just got stood up on a date.
