You are teaching works salvation. What I'm saying is that we are saved no matter what. Even our worst sins cannot prevent our salvation. Go ahead and gasp a few times, it's all right. Because God gives us a nature that hates sin and loves righteousness. So while you are trying to mend the flesh and trust in yourself, the born again are doing what they are designed to do. And that is to live holy lives.
No sir! 'For we are His workmanship. created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.' If there are no good works, what evidence is their the someone is created in Christ Jesus? The Lord Jesus says, 'If you love Me, keep My commandments.' If we utterly fail to keep His commandments, what evidence is there that we love Him?

Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are adultery, fornication..........envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries and trhe like, of which I tell you.......that those who practise such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.'

Yes, but I made a profession of faith......

'Those who practise such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.'

Yes, but I went forward at a Billy Graham event......

'Those who practise such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.'

Yes, but 1689Dave says.........

'Those who practise such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.'

'Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived!'

You are still wrapped up in salvation by works. What about infants and those beyond the reach of the gospel? The Westminster says they are saved too apart from the gospel. You are ignoring that salvation is in the Atonement. And works are the evidence.

And works are the evidence.
What evidence does the elect infant have?
We have almost no information concerning those who die in infancy. We lay them in the hands of the God who will certainly do right. 'The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and our children forever that we may do all the words of this law' (Deuteronomy 29:29).

But the elect are saved based on the atonement even if they haven't any good works?

That's not what Ephesians 2:10 says. We are saved for good works, so if there are no good works, it begs the question of whether we are saved. Of course, if we don't live long enough to do any good works, like the thief on the cross or those who die in infancy, then God can be trusted to do what is right.

“Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.” Romans 5:9 (KJV 1900)

Are you still willing to trust in salvation by works instead of the blood of Christ?
Have you stopped beating your wife yet? :p
Acts 26:19-20. 'Therefore, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision, but declared first to those in Damascus and in Jerusalem.......and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance.

I love my wife more than I do myself. This is really filthy of you and makes me wonder how you treat your wife if you even have one that will tolerate you.

I'm sorry if I caused offense. However, you asked me a question to which I might well have taken offense:
Are you still willing to trust in salvation by works instead of the blood of Christ?
This, in Britain, is called a 'have you stopped beating your wife yet' question. It cannot be answered with a yes or a no. The word 'still' suggests that I have at some time trusted in salvation by works, which I have never done.
FYI, Mrs Marprelate and I recently celebrated our 41st wedding anniversary. How she tolerates me is indeed a mystery, but you will have to ask her about that. :).

I'll just ignore your comment. As James proves we do not have free will since we cannot control our tongues (typing fingers).

It's still an accusation of wife-beating no matter how you answer it.

... "Have you stopped beating your wife?" Whether the respondent answers yes or no, they will admit to having a wife and having beaten her at some time in the past. ...

OSAS means I can never do anything bad enough to cancel my salvation. King David shows this in his horrible sin involving Bathsheba and the murder of Uriah. His wood, hay, and stubble works expired, but his salvation remained unaffected. It's nice knowing this because it focuses me on Christ's salvation being totally out of my hands.

One can never do anything bad enough to cancel one's salvation pre-supposing that one is actually saved.
'Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God?' Do not be deceived!'
