I agree that the Scofield Bible had much to do with the embrace of 'Rapture Theology'. I was a student at Biola and the majority of the student body referenced the Scofield Bible in almost all discussions on the subject. This was also the same time that Hal Lindsey released 'The Late Great Planet Earth' which the student body treated as dogma.

The Rapture and the Resurrection are one in the same. Paul lays it out clearly in 1 Thes. 4.

John was taken or brought to this current time of Apocalypse to write the things that would happen in this current seventh and last millennium, or seventh and last Day, the Lord's Day. The only explanation for this mysterious but wonderful removal of John to a future time is, in my vision, in the fact that GOD is Omnipresent, and GOD brought John to these current days, In fact, John traveled around 2000 years ahead, but GOD not, He did not move Himself, He is Omnipresent.GOD is from everlasting to everlasting.For the Omnipotent GOD there is no time at all.
