God wants us to occupy until the Second Coming, so we should be involved in all spheres of our society, politics, movies, arts, music etc!
No, God has not given us the charge to become of this world. We are to be sojourners.

That sounds like Francis Schaeffer.
Where is the scripture that supports the idea?
I can think of some that might be thought of to agree but they probably would not match yours, if you have some.

Jesus stated that we are to be the salt and light in society and our cultures, so let His light shine in all areas that we move in and interact with!
And Schaeffer was a great author!

How hard would it be for you to put the scripture in?
Salt and light I recall but you say "all spheres of our society, politics, movies, arts, music " I don't recall.
Help my memory.

Christians are to be salt. Unfortunately many do not want to be identified with Christ but would rather yoke themselves with a political party. This is the problem with "Christian" politics - Christians abandon Christ as they seek to do "kingdom work" in worldly ways. The Church should stand apart from the GOP, DNC, Green Party, etc. And Christians need to associate themselves with Christ.

Should we not be an influence in all areas of culture and society? We have the movies and tv shows that we have now due to Christians deciding too worldly, let the darkness do its thing!

Christians are to vote and to make our voices heard concerning how this nation is being led!

Yet the Disciples did not vote. The early church did not vote. Why do you think the "rules" changed?

Paul could have voted in Roman elections. Most of the Early Church Father's could have voted. But they not only refused to vote, they loudly voiced their opposition to Christians joining these worldly powers by voting. The Early Church believed that the Kingdom of God was not of this world. They believed that they were a part of this kingdom. And they refused to become a part of secular government because they believed that secular government was by nature an "order of this world" and evil.

So on what grounds do you make the declaration that "Christians are to vote"?

Christians were used by God to make slavery illegal in both England and in America, should they have just 'sat it out?"

Atheists were also used by God, and slavery was not ended by a vote.

Do you believe one of Paul's sins was concentrating on God's kingdom instead of secular politics?

Has any said that was a sin of Paul? I didn't see it.

Do you believe Christians were wrong in forming the Mayflower Compact?

That is why I am asking. Celcus said it was unpatriotic that Christians refused to vote and hold public office. But he was pagan.

Writing the compact is between them and God. I am not concerned with secular government. I am concerned with the Church.

Paul's missionary work is certainly not sinful. No one has indicated that. I believe it is also unpatriotic not to vote. How could it not be? If you want to say you're too busy being spiritual than to get involved in secular government, ok. But it is unpatriotic.

Well, yes, it was between them and God. That was the beginning of the American nation. The Christians formed a body politic based on the laws of God and the Bible and Jesus Christ.

You see, America is unique in the world of nations. It's very origin is Christian.

Did Biden have his right hand on the Bible yesterday when he was sworn in?

I understand that you believe it unpatriotic to vote. And I understand that you are saying that Paul was unpatriotic but was not necessarily sinning by not participating in the Roman government as was his right.

The origin of America is not Christian. It was based on Christian values and morals, and could be said to be Deistic, but not "Christian". Nations are not Christian.

I suppose Biden had his right hand on the Bible. BUT this is not Christian. This is what is called "Ceremonial Deism". This is why Congress opens in prayer. This is why we still have "In God We Trust" on our currency. It is not Christian.

Darkness is the absence of light. You are called to be light via Christ.
