His testimony is that he was a Christian from his youth. He did describe a type of cricis of faith related to alcohol.

He still performs the Alice Cooper show. Came here this past year (his daughter sometimes performs with him). And it is still the horror show.

I am not glorifying Cooper. I am stating that we cannot so easily declair people lost. Christians can believe and do things that are not biblical.

The chicken story is interesting (if true...Cooper says it is but his bassist says it is not). The story is a chicken got on stage and Cooper, not realizing it wouldn't fly (reminiscent of WKRP) threw it off where fans killed it.

It was Ozzy who bit the head off a bat (he thought was fake) at a concert and a dove (probably on drugs) in a confrence room.

Other interesting and useless tidbits - Bob Dylan had a Christian phase. He released three Chtistian albums (Slow Train was outstanding).

Dave Mustaine says he is now a Christian. He backed out of a tour because of Satanic bands (the producers offered to take those bands off the list but Mustaine did not want to hurt the musicians). Megadeath still performs (Mustaine is probably the best guitarist of his genre).

Ronnie Dio was not a Christian (but he did record a Christian song). He was atheist. Raised Catholic the dark songs were about what he saw as the Roman Catholic abuse of religion.
You think a Christian can behave the way Cooper does in his concerts? His lyrics?

Tells me all I need to know about you.
Really? How so? John MacArthur has always struck me as being a jerk. He's very pompous, in my opinion. Ace is a pretty humble guy. He's battled alcoholism and been sober for 15 years, as I've heard. So he knows his weakness. By the way, He's a Lutheran.
"Those who have been forgiven little, love little. Those who have been forgiven much, love much.

Im not talking about Alice Cooper. I'm talking about Ace Frehley. The guy was raised Lutheran. I'm not saying he's a born again Christian, I'm saying even a rocker is nicer than John MacArthur, who is in my opinion, a total jackass.

I suppose so. You indicated he is now a Christian yet he still performs those shows. Do you think that his performances disqualify his faith?

I know he claims to be a Christian. I did not know he still performs those shows. I would have very little reservation in saying his fruit does not attest to him being a Christian.

If John MacArthur ran things, music would be bland.
Hey Jon, I read an article about Elvis. It said he got a lot of flack from church leaders, politicians, etc in every town he went to, but after those people actually met him, they couldn't say a bad thing about him.

Alice Cooper is described as an active member of Camelback Bible Church of Paradise Valley, Arizona:

AZ Central • Entertainment

(his pastor Tim Savage is a Council Member with Mohler, Dever, Piper, etc. of Calvinist fraternity 'The Gospel Coalition')

I don't know. I know Christians who like horror movies. Cooper's niche was to be the "bad guy" in a horror show. But in interviews he insists there was always a line he would not cross.

Today we have Christians enjoying shows like The Walking Dead. Does this mean they are not Christian?

I love zombie movies. And I'm prepared for them if they ever do break out for real. :)

Well rlvaughn mentioned a book in the Music Ministry Forum that might interest you brethren... Called Turn, Turn, Turn by Steve Turner... Popular Songs Inspired By The Bible... My wife asked me what I wanted for my last birthday and I said just buy me this book, and she did ... Maybe cost all of twenty bucks... Well worth it... I enclosed the link... Oh Lord Rock On!.. Jesus said for us to get the beam out of our eye. In modern language, it probably means getting the beam out of somewhere else.

Watching vs performing and becoming an open stumbling block for others.
