Then maybe it's time to plant a church. Again...instead of fussing, take action. It's easy to fuss, hard to take action. As I would tell my children when they would fuss about something...can you change it? If you can, then do it. If you can't then quit fussing. When it comes to faith/church stuff, you can change things...plant a church, start a house church with other like-minded folks.

Define church plant...IE, where do the people who are trying to start a church plant come from, how are they sponsored & who ministers to them?

Start talking to people, try to get a core group. You might have to work a secular job for awhile (like Paul) to get things off the ground. Church plants are many things, sometimes there's a sending church. Sometimes it's a small group who prays about it and steps out in faith. And who is ministering to them? Christ. Stop looking at men to solve your problem. Look to Christ.

You are missing the point....and that is that I am not called to Ministry. However I am not idle either. I have called Northern Baptists, Southern Baptists, Reformed Baptists and have been rebuffed as a lunatic for attempting a sponsorship.....I cant even get a "Bible Church" that is local & well established to go out and preach in the town community. They wont do it, its too damn hard. So I'm left with only my family and that's not enough to establish a church. Maybe that is why the churches began a process of bringing in unsaved people (mostly Catholics) to fill the pews ..... at least from the economic standpoint, that works to a point. No discipleship, just seeker church speak & multiple weekend services (just like the Catholics).

Ok...and? Can you spend time in the word by yourself or with your family? Can you evangelize on your own? Again, instead of fussing about what you can't (or won't do), start thinking of what you CAN do. You have shot down every single suggestion I have made which leads me to believe you'd rather fuss than take action. Fussing is easy, taking action is hard.

I tend to be action oriented instead of fussing oriented. I mean, I could have whined and fussed about how the church we used to attend was so horrible and not do anything about it...that would have been easier, right?

I was in a leadership position at a Baptist church where the pastor refused to discipline members who were openly living in sin and ministering in the worship service. I called for the person to step down from worship until they had shown that they were no longer under the bondage of addiction to cocaine. After one month the Pastor told me he thought the person was better and should be reinstated. Knowing that addicts can quit for short periods I advised waiting at least two years to observe growth. The Pastor was aghast and said the worship leader might not survive such a discipline. The other leaders voted to reinstate. I voted no and tendered my resignation from the leadership position. My family then found fellowship at a church that pursues holiness.
Sometimes you have to dust off your sandals and move on.

Side note: That church continues to struggle and the worship leader continues to be addicted to cocaine. It's so very sad.

That is what we did. Listen for what God is calling you to do. For us, surprisingly, it was a story we saw watching the 11pm news.
I need to get ready to go to choir practice and sing evening service. We're moving this week so we skipped services this morning. Starting next week we won't be able to skip any Sunday services. Please pray for patience for me, my husband is driving me crazy over this moving stuff. I've bitten my tongue so hard it's almost bleeding.

Perhaps that's why you have been successful in finding a biblical church.....because you are in the middle of a sinful area & the people who are not sinners have to huddle together.
You said :"The people who are not sinners have to huddle together." That's nonsense. All people are sinners. That's Bible 101.

Thank you...I didn't catch that. Here's the amazing part...our church is seeing salvations and baptisms every service. Right here in "sin city". Although that might be due to us going out the first Saturday of the month for soulwinning and the numerous outreach activities we do including bible clubs at some of the more troubled apartment complexes in the city. Not too shabby for a congregation of less than 1000 souls.
" I still remember being mocked and criticized for wanting to learn more doctrine and theology.

That's funny...I have a BA in biblical studies. Told the pastor about it...he was thrilled! I'll be teaching women's bible studies this fall.
I also have a BA in Biblical studies and when I was in high school planning to go to Bible College the pastor of that church asked me why I would waste my time. During Bible College at a different church it was made clear that I was "wrong" to go to Bible College. At still a different church I was told that having a BA in Biblical Studies made me too intimidating for anyone to marry me.

I have yet to meet a Godly woman who views God as needy.

What we seem to be talking about is the lack of doctinally literate churches.
Than why object to us pointing it out as a problem we see.

Of course they are doctinally illiterate churches. That's what happens when emotions are prized over intellect. Again why object to us pointing out a problem. The first step to solving any problem is admitting there us one.

Really?!? That's freaking incredible. To be discouraged from wanting to educate yourself from learning ANYTHING, much more the Word of God and then to attempt to deride you about marriage......Wow just WOW!!!

Considering what I'm hearing here.....you could move to Nevada, start baptizing people & become Johnny Baptist 2. LOL!

Once more unto the breach dear Sister....:Thumbsup

I have a collection of sheepskins, AAS, BS, BA and was working on an MBA and I was NEVER told that degrees would make me "intimidating"...I am intimidating but my degrees have nothing to do with that.

You irritate me. You are arrogant. I offered you multiple options to solve your problem but you're happier fussing. You want everyone to change for you...rather than being the change you want to see. IOW...you don't want to get your hands dirty doing the work.

By the way, I have no desire to be a preacher. I firmly believe that women are not to preach as stated in scripture.

It is God's grace that I have not left the church give the horror stories I could tell. I'm glad you did not have those stories but not everyone is so blessed.
The church my husband and I go to is good, just wish it was a bit closer to us. But the battle scars are still there and I would like to see this hyper feminine culture addressed to prevent another from gaining all the battle scars I have from Christendom.
