Jim, the only lions I want to see - are in zoos!

Dan - still hate winter - whether it's in January or March!

They, of course, are the mane ones. I do not relish the thought of horrid winds at end of March. I should much rather bask in sunshine and warmth once March ends.

It is so nice to see snow melting in the fields. It is now raining and that should help melt it further.

Cheers,

Jim

We drove about 150 miles after I got home from work!

More and more snow is disappearing - for which I'm thankful!

More rain to-day and quite warm, so that should have the snow. The river is a pretty sight at the dam. The ice overflows the dam and the water rushing under the ice. Some ducks are swimming around the swell below then resting on an ice flow.

Cheers,

Jim

We continue to see many deer - that leave the hilly woods for the flat fields - where there is less snow - and food is more easily found!

It is an interesting sight!

I always see loads of deer near Watertown when I travel down 81...plenty dead along the roadside too.

We have all the deer under the apple trees all winter right out the front door. Them and wild turkeys..They fly up into the trees every night.

Cheers,

Jim

It's a grand sight to see wild turkeys in a tree! We have friends in Indiana who have this.

Our guineas roost in the tree above our house & one stray cat who they adopted sleeps up there with them!

Another warm rainy day here on de bayous! Creeks are overflowing...

Thankful

Good Morning! I really like to read your descriptions of deer, turkey, and other animals and birds that are in your yard or nearby.

In our new yard, we have had hummingbirds and sparrows and that is all! I miss the squirrels, blue jays, mockingbirds, and cardinals, but I remember that it took me two years to get them to come to my old yard so I will try to be patient.

I am feeding the birds and we have sparrows and some kind of big black bird...not sure what. They may be cow birds..not big enough for crows or crackles.

We don't have very many trees and there are no electric wires in the neighborhood.

The only animal that may come in the yard is certainly not welcome...the skunk!

Hope you all have a great day! My painting buddy is having car trouble today so I may paint anyway. It is more fun to paint with someone.

I should have made this three posts to increase my post count :D

SisThankful! I recently discovered the "paint" program on this computer! Wow! I didn't know it could be so much fun!

I've drawn a mailbox, a rose, a pot of orange flowers, & a goose. My first black'n'white was a mountain scene with a stream & cabin. Don't know what to do with 'em now, haha, but it was great "therapy"!

Granny - just as long as you don't start using the same kind of therapy that the old maid sisters used on the "Waltons!"

Dan - nothing stronger than tea for me!

The Waltons! Boy, I remember that show back when we watched a little tv. Even now, my Mister will call me "Old Woman" & I call him "Old Man"...and we have a table/benches like theirs too.

The only successful painting I did was a nude. It used to hang in my study until I finally took it down.

The rest of the story: I couldn't paint a picture to save my life. I could draw with charcoal, but not a paint brush. So, I took a blank canvas, framed it, and printed down in one corner "The Nude" and signed it. It is an original and I suspect would bring great money on ebay.

Cheers,

Jim

The painting was his lifelong work
He hung it in his study-
And those who entered into the room
Were struck by all its beauty.

They looked upon the canvas there
And stared in wonderment-
To think that nothing such as this
Could bring such sweet content.

The only painting I do - is with a paint roller - and it's the walls of my house!

Dan - my skills lie somewhere else!

Good morning to all who happen to rise and meet the sun.

Continuing rainy and mild here. The dreaded snow is sinking fast. The filthy stuff is being washed and melted before our eyes. Doesn't that remind you of when we came to Christ in all our filthy rags, and He melted and molded us into His likeness....We also rise to meet the Son.

Cheers,

Jim

Hello all in the tearoom.

As a tea drinker I really should spend more time here than in the Coffee House. Speaking of which, sounds like time for a cuppa!

Popped in to the tearoom and pitstop to read the recent threads, always good for a giggle.

So much more fun than the history, economic and organisation of Health In Australia Today. I shall overcome, I shall overcome and do a 5000 word assignment.......
