The problem I see with the pre wrath rapture view is that it's similar to the pre trib rapture in that it divides Jesus's second coming into two events. Jesus returns before the trumpet and bowls judgement and at Armageddon.

Its similar but its very different and advocates of each view debate with one another. Which view do you hold?

If it is dispensational it is not biblical. It is the invention of John Nelson Darby and his disciples!

False, False, False!

Read the works of Edwards and see that he got the idea of dispensationalism long before Darby. Or what of Pierre Poiret?

True True True

Edwards was not a dispensationalist and seeing different ages does not a dispensationalist make. (Ryrie will back me up on that)

I don't call myself historic premillennialist or progressive dispensationalist. I'm still studying on this important topic.

I got my Intel from his book so he won't back you up on that.

Oh and how did you get out of my ignore list?
"In other words, a person can believe in dispensations and even see them in relations to progressive revelation, without being a dispensationalist."
Charles Ryrie
Dispensationalism 1995
pg 38

See Ryrie backs me up that seeing dispensations does not a dispensationalist make. It all comes down to how one views Israel and the Church.

As I said you want a debate on dispensationalism then start another thread. All involved in this debate agree with dispensationalism, we just do not agree on the timing of the rapture.

Pre-trib-dispensationalism is a false doctrine straight out of the pit of John Nelson Darby. It is a pathetic attempt by ""Christians""" to avoid the truth that most Christians will face death before the return of Jesus Christ. It also is understandable why a Jew in Florida recently took these people to task since they are condemning Jews to 3-7 years of the worst of tribulation

The appeal to a doctrine, any doctrine, must be made on the basis of the Word of God, and not on the basis of history.
For example, on November 1, 1950, Pope Pius XII declared the Assumption of Mary an official dogma of the Catholic Church. Does that, therefore, make it true? The Catholic apologist will try to make an appeal to the ECF in defense. However the Assumption is declared right or wrong on the basis of the Bible not on the basis of its history, no matter how authoritative that history may seem to be.

What saith the Lord? That is the question that must be answered in all matters of doctrine. It is not a matter of who believed what and when they believed, but rather what does the Word of God say, and on that basis one should proceed.

I think I am going to go with: the tribulation takes place, the wrath takes place, the resurrection and rapture of those to rule with Christ takes place, they meet the Lord in the air and together with Him return to the earth where the Lord. the Son of Man, shall sit in the throne of his glory, the tabernacle of David, with those ruling with him.

I might change my mind but am going with that for now.

Darby is the father of pre-trtib-dispensational error. That is true! You can spout all the lies about the so-called rapture you choose but the truth is what it is. Read dispensational scholar Thomas Ice before you put "yo" mouth in gear!

Strange how the truth annoys the pre-trib crowd!

Why so angry? I believe Thomas Ice said he was the father of (modern) dispensationalism....not a particular flavor.. "Irishman, John Nelson Darby (1800-1882) is unquestionably the father of modern dispensationalism."

Will there be tribulation as a Christian, absolutely, Our Lord Jesus Said it would be so, but i think it is biblical to address a "Great Tribulation, that will come upon all the world..."
