Interesting reaction to the poll.
I never said the board was administered badly nor did I say "moderators are bad", yet, that seems to be how some of you read the fact that the question regarding attitude was asked.
Also interesting that instead of simply saying, "We are considering closing the thread while we consider its merits," an insult was thrown in about "self pity." For the record Bob, I don't feel any self pity at all regarding this.
As to other things. I have never written a word on this board that I would hesitate to say to the individual face to face in front of a full congregation - nor have I ever written anything that I worry about "facing Christ" with.
Am I guilty of getting angry? Yes.
Does the fact that I am as guilty as someone else mean its okay? No.
Does, "Its okay, we can be hateful, its just a debate forum," mesh with God's word?
Do Christians ever have a time when we are not supposed to live up to God's standards?
Why is "taking a pulse" and finding out who feels the attitude is right or wrong so threatening and anger inducing to so many? As the poll says, the answer is a simple yes or no. You are worried about the attitude or you aren't. If the majority is worried, maybe it isn't "just a few people feeling self-pity." If the majority is not worried, maybe it is. What's wrong with finding out a few base reactions in that regard?
