So, on the one hand, there are those who see their faith in Christ as actively making them "just" in God's eyes ( they are credited with eternal life because they believed on Him ) and then there are those who ( like me ) see that the reason that they believe, is because God caused them to ( Psalm 65:4 ).

Who are these people?

Do you know any Calvinists who took a while, some years, after hearing The Gospel to make a decision.

You believed the first time you sat in a pew and heard The Word?
We all got saved at the ordain point in time when the Holy Spirit had us hear the good news, and enable us to respond to what we had heard!

Well that's merely a Calvinistic assertion where you say he enables one to respond. What you're not saying is that he equally doesn't grant every member of humanity the same ability or gives them just as much a chance which I say he does.

Which scriptures would support your assertion here though?

Sinners have no innate faith in and of ourselves thoughm,as even that faith has to gifted to us by God!

Faith is never described as a gift in scripture but faith in God is a result of hearing the gospel. Then one chooses to accept the gospel to believe or reject it. That is God's design.

1Cor 12:8 For to one is given through the Spirit the word of wisdom, and to another the word of knowledge, according to the same Spirit;
9 to another faith,

It doesn't it says that faith comes from hearing the gospel, it also says that the gospel is the power unto salvation.
Romans 10:17, and the Gospel is indeed the power of salvation unto those whom God has granted to them ears to hear it!

Passage is written to Christians at the church of Corinth. If we take your interpretation of this passage not all Christians at Corinth were gifted with faith.

Just another example of forcing theology onto scripture.
