Do you, as a Christian, think guns are the solution? This is a matter of faith for me. I put my faith in the Lord not guns.
Did you decide how many (if any) guns I, as a Christian, should own? And should I even consider that semi-automatic shotgun?

You might be interested in this picture. This is the 170 year old Baptist Church I attended when I lived in NJ. They have installed solar panels. NJ is definitely not as good as Atlanta for solar energy but they proved them in and my current church did not include them as a part of a current building program. View attachment 2619
I wonder how much power they supply for a home.

FTW has a sign on his front door that his home is gun-free. If you live near him, you will need lots and lots of guns because he lives in a high-crime area.

It's not Biblical to say that God in the person of Jesus can't make up His mind.

I said "If I looked at this truly objectively, I would be inclined to say Jesus can't make up his mind on that point." The fact is, I do not look at this truly objectively, so I don't say Jesus can't make up his mind on the point.

But considering the temple incident-- which happened at least twice-- and the slashing of the high priest's slave's ear, make up your mind: Yes or No -- was Jesus ever violent?

God is love but He is also Holy and Righteous. Most certainly you can find examples of God's wrath in the OT.

Take that to the Lord.
I am asking you.

You made the comment about guns and Christian's. You implied there was faith involved.

I don't get your meaning. Are you saying a Christian should not own guns? If so, why?

Don"t skirt the issue, answer plainly.... what is wrong with me owning 6 guns and looking to purchase a semiautomatic 12 gauge?

President Obama exercised the same presidential right that Trump has except Trump has signed far more.

How many executive orders has President Trump signed?
Updated Jul 30, 2018; Posted Jul 30, 2018
President Trump has signed 77 executive orders since taking office in 2017, according to tracking provided by the American Presidency Project.

Trump signed 63 executive orders from January 2017 through March 20, 2018 and an additional 14 from March 21 through June 20, the tracker shows. The executive orders cover everything from improving mental health treatment for veterans to stopping the practice of separating immigrant parents and children at the U.S. border.

Executive orders are official legally binding mandates from the president. Executive memoranda are essentially the same, except they do not have an established process on how they are issued. Proclamations are another form of executive action and usually are for ceremonial purposes that don't carry any legal effect.

As with all presidents, many of the executive actions deal with relatively mundane tasks, such as establishing tasks forces and proclamations that recognize holidays or special events.

Trump has signed roughly 4.27 executive orders in each month of his presidency through June. His predecessor, Barack Obama, signed 276 executive orders in his eight years in office, or roughly 2.9 per month. George W. Bush signed 291 orders, or slightly more than 3 per month during his two terms in office.

Yes you are correct, President Trump ha also signed Executive Orders, but not one of them has invaded upon the rights of the two other branches of the government. Obama's EO's sought to actually change the law (immigration) which can only be done by the Congress. Remember what he said" "If Congress won't act, I will" and the fact is he cannot act legally in every circumstance.

Let's say there is a home invasion of your place of residence by an armed thug. He puts his gun down and grabs your 6 year old daughter or niece and prepares to rape her. You have a chance to pick up the gun and shoot him to stop the terrible act, so what do you do?

trump's EO's have changed immigration policies. What about his order to exclude everyone who is a Muslim?

OK a noble concept given by the Lord.

What-if:

All other things being equal - an individual attempts to hurt/seduce/rape a loved one.

Do you allow that one to satiate their lust or use force to provide protection your love one.

1 Timothy 5:8 But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.

Here in America that is a very real choice in many locales.

Based on your responses I believe the issue is you are stereotyping gun owners.

I don't carry a gun. I don't plan on shooting anyone.

I have guns in my home but not because I need protection.

I have a pitbull for that. Named him Lucifer and trust him to protect me...... just kidding.....:Biggrin

But I have guns for sport. The reason I am looking at a semiautomatic shotgun is in shooting clay you load 2 shells. The extra motion of a pump can cause you to miss. I like going to the range.

What would you do if you lived in a high crime area such as Indianapolis, where the murder rate per capita is as high or higher than Chicago and where there is a lot of black on white crime?
