What is your view on waterboarding?

We see scriptural evidence of repentance & rebuke for both of those. And I made that point in my post, thank you.

As I've stated previously, if I had to choose one of the evils, I'd choose waterboarding. Abortion is a horrible practice and one that I fight against at every opportunity. That doesn't mean that I can't hate other evils as well.

Well I agree to a point, but I don't see any biblical condemnation of it. I still say we aren't being told everything, and it reeks, to me, of a political "gotcha" kind of thing.......

To those of you who are so against waterboarding, I suggest you look around the web at some of the videos out there (there are other sites besides YouTube) and see actual footage of beheadings, beatings, and real torture that militant muslims are doing to troops and innocent civilians, such as dousing them with gasoline and burning them alive. Most tortures done for allah akbar are not able to repeated on this board. I don't expect many people have the stomach to watch the videos without rushing to the nearest sink and puking your guts out. Water boarding is nothing, people. Nothing.

These enemies cannot be reasoned with because they are so high on the drug of islam and violence and would do any of the atrocities they are proud to video tape and post on the web to you and your children and grandchildren, your wife, your mother, you sister.

Over the weekend I was listening to a radio talk show & they were discussing torture being used on terrorists being detained at Guantánamo Bay. Some of the main forms of torture being used were sleep deprevation & waterboarding.

I personally believe that when you are dealing with confirmed terrorists (not people just given that label) that it is important to do what it takes to protect our nation. If you also look at how other countries have treated our troops when they are captured, waterboarding pales in comparison.

What is your stance on this issue?

How do you know that they are terrorists? They've never been charged with anything and therefore never convicted.

Do Whatever Is Needed to Protect Our Nation

"War is Hell!" I don't know who said it, but, that doesn't make it any less true. War will never be a pretty thing, nor will it ever be open to the rules of the politically correct, and for those who think we should apply the infamous "Golden Rule" to our enemies, well, you're just plain stupid and dead wrong.

This enemy will cut off the head of their enemy as a television special event, and not lose a minute of sleep for inhumane treatment of prisoner's captured in this war. This is a different breed of animal that we are fighting in this war on terror. The only thing they know and respect is the same kind of treatment that they give out to our fighting men and women.

Grow up. The days of the "bleeding heart liberals" are long gone. There are no rules with these guys....and we must fight them on their terms, and hopefully, on their soil.

Americans that cry out for humane imprisonment of terrorists are living in a Fantasy World. This kind of treatment will be the main reason we lose the war.

Please stop being weak kneed lollipop licker's. This enemy will not be stopped by being nice. And they will not think any less of us, nor will they give us brownie points for being "a nation of values". Their hate for America will be the same no matter what we do. If we were to capture a terrorist; give them a prime rib and baked-potato dinner; a bath; a new suit; and fly them home on first class, they would still have hate toward us, and so would a lot of their kin.

Oh, and by the way, the inmates at Gitmo get better treatment than the troops guarding them there, overall. They get 3 squares a day, special meals prepared according to islamic dietary laws, hot showers (our troops get cold ones), regular exercise, and live in a wonderful tropical climate by the seashore. I think the US treats our enemies rather well, better than most. So the water boarding is a non-issue, all things considered. Besides, when Obama gets done, they will probably mostly get to go free to go and plan more attacks on us. It's a wonderful life. The prisoners get treated better than the guards did, when the guards were in boot camp. You wouldn't have liked boot camp. My ears are still red from the things said about my mother. And I did push-ups until there was a puddle of sweat under me. I went thru tear gas, and that wasn't as bad as the smoke house, "George" I had to pass thru, and the 55 degree salt water I had to learn to swim in, and in all of them, I had to recite whatever sentry general order I was asked before being let out. I was made to march with a full pack. And about all these "gourmet chefs" that supposedly learned to cook in the Navy, well they didn't work at Great Lakes. And the duty & conditions did NOT improve when I boarded a warship & went to the Persian Gulf.

The prisoners have it better than the guards. Life is easier for them. Luckily for me, my sense of duty outweighed my laziness.

I took a Bible survey class through Liberty Univ.....and believe me, the way war was conducted and prisoners were handled....as well as other people.... was not pretty. God sanctioned the slaughter of the Hebrew's enemies....and God wiped out entire cities....(Sodom and Gommorah)

God ordained stoning as a punishment for immorality. What could be more tortuous than being buried up to your waist and have rocks thrown at you until you were dead ? I believe the rule of stoning meant no rock should be big enough to kill on the first blow. I'll have to look that up, but if I remember correctly......

I'll bite. Yes, I have a problem with punishing the citizens of a country for the sins of their leaders. I sure don't want to be punished for what my leaders do... :laugh:

On a serious note. Yes, really. I don't think it is right to stop aid (in the form of medicine, food, etc) from going into a country. BTW, I don't think that the aid should come from our government, but from private citizens that choose to help.
