God sanctioned the slaughter of the Hebrew's enemies....and God wiped out entire cities

What wars has God sanctioned lately? What cities had God ordered wiped out lately?

Wait, Matt. Jesus also said there will be wars and rumors of wars....

And Jesus is coming back again as a Warrior to deal with His enemies and enemies of His people. And the blood will be as deep as a horse bridle and it will take 7 months to bury the dead.

When Jesus tells me to do something, I'm doing it. If Jesus tells me to waterboard someone, I know he is right and I'll waterboard all day long. Sorry, but I don't have the faith in leadership, other than Jesus, to make such weighty decisions properly.

Waterboarding is far more humane than sucking a fetus out of the womb piece by piece. Amazing how liberals think waterboarding is torture, and think nothing of human extrication limb by limb or burning by salt poison of innocent babies. Sad.
Amazing how every discussion, regardless of topic, turns into "yeah but abortion is worse". So what? That is not the topic. I thought you were the 'stay on topic' queen, LE...what happened?

I'll bite. Yes, I have a problem with punishing the citizens of a country for the sins of their leaders. I sure don't want to be punished for what my leaders do...

On a serious note. Yes, really. I don't think it is right to stop aid (in the form of medicine, food, etc) from going into a country. BTW, I don't think that the aid should come from our government, but from private citizens that choose to help.

Yes. But trade sanctioning does cover private donations.

I agree with you.

I never said torture was OK, I'm just pointing out it was done in the O/T, and nobody in America paid any attention to it until Bush came along.

It's hard to argue quality of life issues with people who support abortion. I think it's a valid comparison.

Equally amazing is that any criticism if a liberal turns into "yea but Bush did worse".

Show Me The Golden Rule in Scripture

matt wade said:
And all along I thought that it was Jesus that taught the "Golden Rule". Wait...it was Him. You have the nerve to post here and say that my Lord is "plain stupid"?

He's also the same one that said, "Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust."

Was He "plain stupid" when he said that?

I don't even know what that is, so maybe I am one? Thanks for the name calling though, it really helps to drive your point home.

I'll pray for your congregation. I have a feeling they need it.
The "do unto others" is not Scripture. Sorry. It's probably a Chinese proverb, but, it is not in the Bible. If you can find it, and show me where, than I apologise, and ask that you please except my most humble apology!!!

Don't bother praying for my congregation. I'm quite positive they feel as I do. We need to fight this war without reservations.

In closing....try using your spell checker. It makes you look like someone who at least went to school.

Water boarding is nothing, people. Nothing.

Then, dear Christian sister, would you allow yourself to be waterboarded, have it filmed and placed on YouTube so that we can watch it and judge for ourselves?

Just wondering if you are willing to back up your claim personally or are these merely words on your part with no substance. I'm pretty certain it's the latter.

I'm sure she'd not mind the water-board stuff. Maybe you should turn yourself over to a group of terrorists in Afghanistan, and see how they treat a man with nothing but love and good vibes toward them.

I know you Ken, and we have a good relationship. However, you are dead wrong on this issue.....

Huh? What are you talking about? This?

Matthew 7:12 (KJV)
Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets.

As a pastor I thought you would know of Matthew 7:12, I suppose not.

Thanks again for the insults. I won't bother to tell you what it makes you look like. I'm following an old "Momma" proverb. Something about if you don't have something nice to say....

Obviously you didn't read Matt's offer. I already answered this.

What, your mention of childbirth? Still, if you really believe that waterboarding is nothing, then you shouldn't mind it being done to you.

Wow. This thread may have set a record for getting to 10 pages. My wife and I went to see the movie "Underworld: Rise of the Lycans"(which we both really, really liked) and I came back and this thread had really hopped along. :)
