What to do

It is obvious that something needs to be done about the actions of der sogennant Islamic State. What is less clear is what can be done.

Let's set up a scenario. Let's pretend that you are the

President of the US
Prime Minister of the UK
President of France
Chancellor of Germany
Prime Minister of Israel

and your legislature has just given you unlimited powers to deal with the situation.

What would you do? Pick one or more leaders for your answer.

Me? I haven't a clue - that's why I am asking

I had a long talk with a former Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff a couple years ago. He told me we cannot win the war on terrorism because we lack the resolve to do so.

The Muslim Jihadists (radicalized terrorists) have, as their "rules of engagement" to kill every infidel on the planet who refuses to convert to Islam. They even vow to kill all other Muslims who criticize their radicalization and terrorism.

Unless we are willing to adopt the same "rules of engagement," I.E. be willing to kill every Muslim on the planet who refuses to convert, we can't win.

And we lack the resolve to do so. Political correctness will be our undoing.

Worse - you're talking about killing ideas, not just people. We kill every current radical muslim today -- and another, with his own understanding of what islam means, will rise up tomorrow.

So what would I do? Educate/indoctrinate at an early age. Require every child to go to school, and teach them what I wanted them to know about islam, in order to cultivate the adult muslim of tomorrow.

Sound familiar?

It sad that Dubya & Cheney et al were convinced that something needs to be done about Saddam. If we hadn't meddled and 'intervened' to begin with we wouldn't have his ghosts around now to contend with. What was the reason the 'wise Bush Senior' gave for stopping when he did? It had something to do with "creating a vacuum", right?

We should send all troops and equipment in and destroy them with as much force as is necessary. The full force of the United States Military holding nothing back.. No one is going to kill their ideology. What will keep them in check is force and fear. Period.

Is the Islamic State the only 'muslim entity' that needs to be dealt with?

It looks like the world will be engaging in culture war and perhaps even race wars for a long while.

Someone mentioned Matthew 24:7 'nation shall rise against nation' stating the term 'nation' means 'race' so therefore it is actually 'race war', or 'race against race'. I'd not heard that take on that passage, ever.

What to do I am not sure but this problem isn't related only to the Islamic State. Muslims use being offended against peoples in many places. In my opinion being offended is simply a politically correct tactic telling others they 'no longer have a right' to do whatever these are offended about. Of course there are groups that exist besides Muslims who talk of how offended they are over others rights as well.

I do not think that American society has the stomach for a fight of the same level that Isis is willing to engage in.

I disagree. If they were over here on our turf doing as we done to them over there on their turf I guarantee you there would be great resolve to fight, at least here in KY for sure.

What will keep them in check is force and fear.

That is precisely what Saddam was doing before Dubya & Cheney et al meddled and intervened.

Isis was not even in view when Saddam was around. Further Saddam was as bad as Isis is.

Sigh. If you haven't read "Ghosts of Saddam", you need to.

Would ISIS exist today if Saddam Hussein was still alive and in power?

This one sums it up well:

"No. Saddam ruthlessly repressed any threat to his power. If a group like ISIS were to arise, he would simply kill people, guilty and innocent alike, until the threat disappeared. He put down Kurdish and Shia rebellions in this manner." (you know Rev, with "force and fear" just as you originally stated)

international opinion ISIS would not exist if Saddam was still in power

That sounds like an interesting read.

Step # 1 ---Get rid of Obama and any other apologist for islamic terrorists the left might put forth. Nothing can or will be done until he is gone. He has armed and protected them for the last 2 years. He's not about to stop now.
