For some people, yes, but not for me... I would love to have Alan Keyes.. I have voted for him in the past...

I find your response very inflaming... no one has even hinted of racial overtones or undertones on this thread...

I am against him because of what he stands for.. .murder of innocent babies, and big socialist government.... I don't care what he looks like.

Tell me it isn't about race, after all this. As a pro life libertarian, I won't vote for him, but it is not for superficial lies like the ones I've read on this board. If he were a white man, he would not be so harshley scrutinized. And that is true.

He tells about how a church impacted his life.. and he seen that that church stood for the same things he did... and he gives credit to the church for saving his life...

I think it would be cool to have either a woman or African American as President for the first time... during my life time... remember my denomination supports women pastors, and we are very racially inclusive)

I am surprise that Obama is winning over Clinton so far. Still it is too early. I believe Obama is more threat and dangerous than Clinton and McCain.

Maybe we are getting the candidates we deserve. Several decades ago, there were usually two decent candidates. Until the last few elections, at least one was ok. Now, they are all unacceptable.

Maybe God is tired of the self indulgence of America, and forgetting Who blessed this nation to start with.

Here is why I say Obama supports socialist agendas....
He wants to redistribute the wealth of the nation... he believes it is the Government's job to do this...

This is a capitalistic nation.. . The harder and smarter you work, the better off you will be...
He wants to reward lazy people, thus making a nation dependant upon the government...

I especially am opposed to his home mortgage fund...

When I grew up, if a family didn't work, didn't pay for their home, they lost it. He wants the government to pay for the homes of people that don't pay their bills...

Let's just give all the money hard working Americans make to lazy, people who don't want to pay their bills....

Then after we define it, we will compare some of his agendas with the definition...

MODERN VERSION:* The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving.


CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper, and everybody cries when they sing, "It's Not Easy Being Green."

Jesse Jackson stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the news stations film the group singing, "We shall overcome." Jesse then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's sake.
Nancy Pelosi & Barack Obama exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.

The ant loses the case.
The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ant's food while the government house he is in, which just happens to be the ant's old house, crumbles around him because he doesn't maintain it. The ant has disappeared in the snow. The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.

Yeah, Alan Keyes keeps coming up, as comparison. I don't even remember Alan Keyes, so why is this continously brought up, if it isn't that they're both black? Where does it say a politician has to publicly state his Christian faith to become POTUS? Would you believe it if he did? Don't politicians say anything and everything to gain popularity, anyway? And, yeah, I've seen the same chicken little reponse when Bill Clinton became POTUS. Obama is a very good politician; he's mastered politics to a T. Stop listening to the news so much. They're just feeding you what you want to hear, anyway. There is nothing new under the sun.

I haven't a clue yet how I would vote with whoever gets the nomination out of the top 2 on each side. I know one thing for sure though, I will never again vote for a president just on their declaring to be Christian. Conservatives(of which I am) play the abortion and gay issue to the hilt and nothing gets done. Meanwhile our country is going downhill economic wise. Just declaring on tv that they are against abortion means nothing if they do nothing to get it stopped. I'm just about fed up with my party. Bush has driven the nail so deep in my mind, I don't know if I can ever recover to be full blown Republican. If it comes down to McCain or EITHER of the dems, I'm not so sure I won't go democrat. Again, playing the abortion, gay card means nothing if nothing gets done. Come to think of it, if it comes down to McCain and Obama, right now I'm leaning heavy toward Obama.

There are several other links out there too Ken. I guess what we need to realize it the Media isn't always keen on reporting Religious information. They have a habit of being a bit biased so we shouldn't expect them to be any different with Obama..

He isn't my choice, but given the choice of the three... He is the better choice I believe.
