Why are the House Republicans such a mess?

Enlighten us as to why there have been 11 votes for a speaker of the House and no one is yet elected.

This tweet would be my guess. Foolish 20 think they can vote Satan out of their government. You know, the "god" of this world, the tempter with "all the world's kingdoms" to offer Jesus in the wilderness.

Or is it that those Congressmen will NOT compromise important issues!

For 30 years conservatives have been told to suck it up and support the moderate/liberal version of the GOP.

Probably nothing demonstrates this better than the vote to repeal Obama Care.

When repubs had the house and Senate (Obama President) they voted dozens of times to repeal Obama Care because they knew the base wanted it and also knew Obama would never sign it.

When Trump became POTUS the repubs would not even bring that very same bill to a vote (Paul Ryan was Speaker). Why? Because they wanted more government, not less.

It’s the same when Jeb Bush said he wanted to win the nomination without the repub bsse.

The Washington repub elites have total disgust for their conservative constituents. The conservatives aren’t going to take it anymore. They don’t trust Mac. They don’t trust the leadership.

They are using the only leverage they have to attempt MODEST changes to the way things are done and the elites are acting like liberal college students being forced to write a paper on how Ronald Reagan won the Cold War with th the Soviets.

peace to you

It seems more than 5 Republicans elected to the House believe Mr McCarthy is a RINO. They fear the same sort of leadership Mr Ryan provided, which was not good.

Freedom Caucus
The progressive left typically make false claims that are not true about the Freedom Caucus.

[Duck Duck Go search engine may not be all that it is cracked up to be. Using this search engine gave me two different Wikipedia definitions of Freedom Caucus. Going back to double check it was changed to more my view.]

Thing is, those 5 are probably the RINOs.

When a very small fraction of a party believes the majority of the party is not representative of the whole, it typically means the party has changed to leave the smaller group behind.

In other words, the GOP is not what it once was.

That is a good analysis. Without a doubt, the majority of GOP in DC, imo, do not have the same values as the base.

But that is the point. When they are campaigning, they pretend to have the same values as the base. Once in DC it’s all about conforming to moderate/liberal view of the whole process.

The result is an ever increasing push against states rights, parents rights, gun rights, ever increasing national debt, attacks on Christian rights/religious freedoms etc…..

Perhaps they should be called “CINOs” instead of “RINOs” Conservative in name only.

peace to you

Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House Proves DC Cannot Be Fixed From Within
A brief rant.

DC is irreparable.

Kevin McCarthy as de facto leader of the GOP is all the evidence necessary to realize the Uniparty Swamp is in complete political control. Pockets of opposition that occasionally pop up get burnt and discarded faster than a Hunter Biden crack pipe.

The GOP is the marginally-less-horrible wing of the Uniparty Swamp. This political cabal owns DC, or to be more accurate, they manage DC and do whatever they're told when they get calls from Beijing, Davos, or Hell.

American people have absolutely zero influence over DC today.

The election system is completely corrupted. Legislation is bloated to thousands of pages so politicians can "earn" their payoffs from special interest groups by sneaking in the taxpayer-funded pork. The bureaucratic state is a cesspool.

The McCarthy-run GOP bathes in all this.

Only God can save this nation.

I would never presume to know God's will, but I would not be shocked if we were annihilated over the unambiguous evil that has been embraced by our leaders in their self-serving pursuits.

Nobody wants to hear this but it's what we deserve.

Few in DC deserve our support and even fewer deserve our respect. Unless we can somehow break free from the system, we will always be slaves to it. The system is worse than corrupt. It's irreparably broken. And that's the point. They WANT it broken to cover up their ineptitude.

I don't see a path forward for the United States unless God intervenes.

Well, we are about to start the 15th vote, 10:50 pm. The repubs seem happy and looks like Mac is about to become Speaker.

And so we will see

peace to you

A RINO would vote for the 1.7 Trillion dollar, 4000 page, 7000 earmark bill. None of your five did.

As Conservatives Shift From Opposing McCarthy to Holding His Feet to the Fire, Here are Five Promises He Needs to Keep
We'll get some good. We'll get some bad. It's up to America First patriots to try to make sure the bad outweighs the good in the McCarthy era.

Investigate China's Role in Destroying America
The Chinese Communist Party is at war with America. It's not a shooting war yet, but they're hitting us in every other possible way from cyberattacks to economic sabotage. McCarthy promised to go after them with investigations.

Church Committee 2.0
The Deep State is at it again. They're gaslighting, indoctrinating, and engaged in direct propaganda through their proxies in media and Big Tech. This MUST be exposed, and apparently McCarthy promised to do just that.

Rep. Dan Bishop @RepDanBishop
With the rules agreement we negotiated, we will have a powerful Church-style committee to go after the weaponization of the federal government - the FBI, DOJ, DHS, and all the rest. This is a victory for the Constitutional rights of all Americans. I'm ready to get to work.

More Power to the Freedom Caucus
Of all the promises made in public and private, this is the most important one for McCarthy to keep. It will truly separate him from Paul Ryan and John Boehner who actively battled conservatives in their caucus more than they battled Democrats. Here are some of the promises, according to Mark Pellin at Headline USA:

Among the key concessions won by the Freedom Caucus:

  • Any one member can call for a motion to vacate the speaker’s chair, lowered from a required five members; McCarthy-aligned super PACs agreed to not meddle in open Republican primaries in safe seats
  • Hold votes on bills to include a balanced budget amendment, congressional term limits and border security; Pair spending cuts with any efforts to raise the national debt; Move appropriations bills individually, scuttling omnibus spending sprees
  • Appoint more Freedom Caucus members to committees, including the powerful House Rules Committee
  • Cap discretionary spending at fiscal 2022 levels; Allow at least 72 hours to review bills before they come to floor; Changes to make it easier for members offer more amendments on the House floor
  • Create an investigative committee to probe the “weaponization” of the federal government; Restore the Holman rule, which can be used to reduce the salary of government official
Aside from McCarthy’s reported embrace of the negotiated concessions, McCarthy’s acceptance speech after clutching the gavel played to the Republican conservative base.

Conspiracy Bonus
For those of us with more of a conspiratorial mindset, our expectations of Kevin McCarthy go beyond keeping promises and properly empowering conservatives. We need to watch his moves to see when he's doing the bidding of the globalist elite cabal. It's going to happen whether he's a useful idiot, a middle manager, or one of the chief bad guys like Barack Obama or Mitch McConnell.

Now that he's in power we can get a much better idea of where he lands on the "Powers-That-Be Scale." If I were guessing, he acts like a middle manager similar to John Boehner, but he could be higher up on the scale like Paul Ryan. We won't know for sure until we see his actions. Even in his role in the shadows we've seen enough to know that he is, at the very least, a useful idiot. If that's the case then there's an opportunity to use him for some good just as the elites use him for lots of bad.

As the McCarthy era begins, we need to keep all of these promises in mind and remind everyone if McCarthy fails to fulfill any of them. And he will. That's just in his nature

My point is that 5 people do not define the whole.

The Republican Party has changed. It is not what it once was.

It is like pro-life Democrats calling pro-abortion Democrats DINOs. It is wrong because the DNC has changed.

Same with the GOP. The majority defines the Party. Those 5 are the RINOs.

Today's GOP is simply not the GOP of days past.
