You can say you have seen it all you want, but it just ain't so.

I never said i have seen it. I said I KNOW it!

Do you know you have eternal life? Or do you just hope you do?

I know as much as is humanly possible to know. God's Spirit bears witness with my spirit that I am his. My spirit is inward. I walk by faith, which pleases God. Blessed are those who have not seen, but yet believe. Isn't God great!!! I can die with the "faith" of a believer. My faith will come to an end though, by Jesus Christ. He is the author and the finisher of my faith. Get that "finisher".

Why do you need faith?

What will you say? I believe I am in Heaven? I believe that is Jesus Christ? I believe that is God?

Yes, yes and yes. I know and I believe. I know I have a 98 chevy pickup and I believe I have a 98 chevy pickup. I don't "think" it is a 98 chevy pickup and I don't "hope" it is a 98 chevy pickup.

Paul agrees with me...

2Ti 1:12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

When I get to heaven, I will still believe Jesus is Lord. What are you going to say? I don't believe this is heaven? I don't believe this is Jesus? I don't believe that is God?

Steaver: Do you know you have eternal life? Or do you just hope you do?

HP: I know by faith, the testimony of the Holy Spirit to my heart, and the evidence of a changed life since my conversion by the power of the Holy Spirit.

And for the hope that lieth within me I would be happy and eager to share it with you. I indeed do hold firm that hope that in the last day I will be found to have been faithful unto the end, and as such have Christ Jesus as my Advocate at the judgment.

I build furniture. I "finished" a hutch the other day. Guess what? The hutch is still sitting in my house. It is "completed". In faiths case, it is completed as "perfect" because Jesus is the "finisher".

Blessed is also the disciples, who have SEEN and BELIEVED!

Now you got it! :wavey:

Know and faith in the same sentence, just like Paul.

They still are waiting on their crown of Glory, their glorified bodies, their mansion in Heaven, their resurrection from the dead, their reunion of soul and body, their beautiful mansion and life in eternity with Jesus, who they can see face to face with their glorified bodies. Now that is the end of their faith.

The cabinet if finished, are you saying your faith is finished??

Mark1: Blessed are those who have not seen, but yet believe.

HP: That would make an excellent topic by itself.

Could it be within the realm of possibilities that God has withheld or will withhold some miracles asked for, to prove to the enemy of our souls that regardless if we see the miracle one might hope and pray to see, and that regardless of the outcome, we will still trust in Him?

And this somehow negates Paul's point? What was Paul persuaded of??

....that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

Paul did not state he was being persuaded BUT that he WAS PERSUADED. It is a done deal!

You do not realize everything you posted is scripture and that scripture is received by faith to be the written word of God. You say you get your knowledge from the written word, but the written word, stands on faith.

The greatest portion of men born into this world, do not believe or know or have faith, that the written word of the NT is true. According to them the NT is the biggest hoax ever sprung on man.

Not yet. I am saying it does not cease to exist after it is finished. It remains perfect. Not like it is now, weak and strong depending on life's circumstances.

You are missing many portions of my post. I believe you need to slow down a bit and ponder the reality that you could be wrong about some things.

I have given ample proofs to my views of this. I said repeatedly that it is by the HOLY SPIRIT witness that I know these things I have stated to be true.

I know as much as is humanly possible to know. God's Spirit bears witness with my spirit that I am his.

You have mixed "humanly possible" with "God's Spirit bearing witness".

Either you know ye have eternal life or ye don't. There is no "I know a little bit" I have eternal life.

BUT……..not so fast Steaver with all this agreement. It kills good debate.:)

The question of the thread concerns ‘know (absolutely)’ That, I do not believe is consistent with faith, nor can it be. If one knows something ‘absolutely,’ one knows everything there is to know about the subject. There is something hid from my view as it concerns salvation, and that is the final coronation day. I know all about 'sisn that are past' being forgiven and the power of God to change a life, but it is not over till it is over. I am told to remain faithful with the promised help of the Holy Spirit. I am warned that I can think I stand and end up falling. I am told that one can make ‘shipwreck o the faith.’ If I desire to see that final judgment day, that crowning coronation day, become a reality that as yet is only hoped for being not yet seen, I must continue to the end in faith and obedience.

No you haven't, you missed the point of "Persuaded" comes back to "belief".

You also miss the point that your work on the cabinet is what is finished, such as your faith, when you get to Heaven. Of course the cabinet if still around and because you have faith until the end, so will you still be around.

I answered your questions, can you answer mine?

When I get to heaven, I will still believe Jesus is Lord. What are you going to say? I don't believe this is heaven? I don't believe this is Jesus? I don't believe that is God?

You can't even confess that Jesus is the Christ except by the Holy Spirit. I do doubt if you are in the Spirit right now.

HP: I take back those word, 'humanly possible.' There is an element of our faith in God that is outside of the realm and above and beyond the realm of human effort, and that is the testimony of the Holy Spirit. Forgive me for that comment.

The question is not whether or not one has eternal life. The question is how do we hold that promise? I say with Scripture, ‘ by faith,’ and that admits to a possibility of Scripture that you seem to have yet to come to grips with, i.e., the possibility of deception as to what one thinks they know.
