    You are absolutely right.

I wonder why we keep doing this. For me, it's because I have no social life. :)

    Romans 10:8-13.

Wonder why Paul would be pointing us here, us Gentiles,

    Deuteronomy 30:
The Offer of Life or Death

11 Now what I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you or beyond your reach. 12 It is not up in heaven, so that you have to ask, “Who will ascend into heaven to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” 13 Nor is it beyond the sea, so that you have to ask, “Who will cross the sea to get it and proclaim it to us so we may obey it?” 14 No, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it.

15 See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. 16 For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.

17 But if your heart turns away and you are not obedient, and if you are drawn away to bow down to other gods and worship them, 18 I declare to you this day that you will certainly be destroyed. You will not live long in the land you are crossing the Jordan to enter and possess.

19 This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live 20 and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

If you are asking whether or not I could have refused God's gracious offer of salvation, yes I could have, but thank GOD I didn't.

BTW, thank you for your long explanation of your Primitive Baptist belief. I don't agree with most of it, but it does explain a lot. In fact I have copied it so I will be able to understand the PB position better.

Not only insulting, but wrong. Not unexpected, but wrong none the less.

On this I agree. I would never join a Primitive Baptist church like the one Pinoybaptist described.

Unlike you, I don't doubt his salvation, but his understanding of his salvation. I think this is common with the PM church and one reason they are few and far between.

It seems like everything bothers you.

I don't think agreeing with someone is against the rules, is it?

You ought to be completely ashamed of yourself for making such a statement as this. No wonder there remains a "continental divide" betwixt the two factions of believers.

Yes... I can only come to one conclusion -- they are yet in rebellion against holy God.

    Good grief. HELLO?! HELLO?!

8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach:
9 because if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved:
10 for with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
11 For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be put to shame.
12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek: for the same Lord is Lord of all, and is rich unto all that call upon him:
13 for, Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved Ro 10

What is the above to you? Is it a formula that you followed, an incantation that you repeated one time only in order to acquire immortality?

Or is it a way of life, to be lived daily (as in take up your cross daily), as opposed to a one time only event?

If you take 'saved' in Ro 10 to mean 'the acquisition of eternal life' or 'saved from hell', build your case from scripture. Show 'saved' to be in reference to the eternal realm.

It's funny and strange how often I agree with you, considering that our views are opposites. :)

However Calvinists (indeed all DoG Believers) dont claim that their salvation is accomplished through the combined efforts of God who takes the initiative & Man, who must respond.....mans response being the determining factor. The result is a theology that is not exclusively God Centered......its distorted in the direction of the self.

Many cals and sovereign grace preachers explain this scripture like this. This is the part you left out, if your going to put a half quote up and then bash me, you should be ashamed.

The word of God is the determining factor which is the will of God not our will. You are either doing your own will that leads to death or His will that leads to life. God is driving you either jump on board or you don't. Do not lean on your own understanding trust in the Lord and He will direct your path.

Your right...it leads to death. Then why insist you have a hand in your own salvation?
