Please look again. I admittedly did quote the PM, but only the guy's personal attack on me. In the light of prophecy70's siccing this guy on me, and that the guy was trying to debate me on a PM thread, I feel that referring to the PM was entirely legit.

And you also have no clue as to my motives for reading those books. Only God does. You are judging my heart, and you have absolutely no right to do so.

You are here to debate not to learn.

You read both of Comfort's book only to criticize and not to learn.

    J. Dwight Pentecost quotes amil O. T. Allis, who was amil and an opponent of premillennialism:

Premillennialism "was extensively held in the Early Church, how extensively is not definitely known" (Things to Come, p. 373, quoting Allis in Prophecy and the Church, p. 238). Allis also pointed out that the Anabaptists during the Reformation notably were premil.

My search is for truth. I did an honest review of Comfort's books. And once again you are judging my motives, something that only God is equipped to do. So stop taking over the role of God.

Here is a good presentation of famous Baptist Spurgeon's premil position going back to 1865: Spurgeon's Millennial View.

If anyone would know Spurgeon's view it's this author, Bob Ross, since he is the publisher of Spurgeon's sermon sets. ;) (I was in his store once, and he kindly gave me a copy of the volume to which my dear grandpa had written the foreward.)

As I remember, Spurgeon said he was called to preach, not to get involved in speculating on prophecy.

I agree with you for once, in part anyway. The ECF were definitely mostly pre mil. But I cannot comment on anabaptists so I don't know.

A good read on what they believed is in an index in vol VI of Elliott's Horae Apocalipticae The appendix is entitled something like History of Apocaliptic Interpretation. It is well researched with lots of references, mostly in Latin as is the rest of his work. (EDIT the rest of his work has copious footnotes mostly in Greek and Hebrew), he takes an historicist position) It is available on Google Books/ Google play.

Do you have a source for that? Because Bob Ross gave specific sources for his contention that Spurgeon was premil.

No, in America we say "Yeah" as a casual substitute for "yes." But sorry, I don't know what PTR means. We don't use that term on the BB, and I don't go to other forums.

well with all that knowledge, you should be able to refute him easily right? I didn't send anyone after you to debate you. I asked him to read the posts yes. I don't even know him other then a few PMs ,he is an adult, he made his own choice about PMing you.

I wasn't here to debate, I was here to learn, which I am from very respected people on here, I was never raised in the baptist and if this was the first baptist post I've encountered, I would be sitting in the front row of a catholic church praying the rosary.

Yes, It was in the magazine for Christian Witness To Israel a year or so ago.It was from an early quote from a message he gave in one of their early conferences. I don't have the magazine in front of me, so I quoted from my memory.
