    LOL.

Let’s do an honesty test. Then I can move forward. If you’re not going to be honest about who you are I see no reason to let go of my convictions.

Are you Crabtownboy returning as someone else ?

You can give any answer you want, but if you want what you say you want, this should be no problem for you.

““Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For by the standard you judge you will be judged, and the measure you use will be the measure you receive.” (Matthew 7:1–2) (NET)

Why do I feel so hated by you?

    Yawn.

Not sure why you feel that. Could be lots of reasons.

Perhaps "yawn" helps explain why I do not sense the Christian love I've become accustomed to.

I also notice Christians when asked to go a mile, will also go an extra mile in obedience to Jesus. What do you think about this?

I think you’re a liar. And you bringing obedience to Jesus into it to hide your lie is pretty disgusting.

I forgive you. But again, we cannot judge a person's motives without condemning ourselves.

    He was always a liar.

If it’s not him I’ll eat my hat.

I hope you have lots of ketchup, salt and pepper. I don't think it's CTB. He never got deep into theological discussions.

    Brief history.

New guy makes inane remark about “assault” weapons. Using quote function I ask him what an “assault weapon” is. Question goes ignored.

New guy makes claim that US foreign policy has killed as many as abortion has. Using quote function I ask him to back this up. Question goes unanswered.

New guy frames questions the same way banned guy did. New guy does not discuss theology, he repeats mantras. Just like banned guy did.

New guy claims total pacifism even the the most gruesome cases and claims others are carnal for not doing likewise. Just like banned guy.

New guy sidesteps the question of if he is banned guy or not.

I was not the only one who thinks this bit I am the only one who says it.

His foot will slide in due time.....

Well, Dave has quoted more scripture in one day than CTB did in a year.

What if the reason why self-defense was not explicitly condoned in the NT was because it would never have occurred to anybody that people would argue against the morality of defending their own person, home and family from a criminal?

When Jesus and the apostles died, wasn't it agents of the state who did them in? Had they defended themselves under those circumstances they would have been violent revolutionaries, then. That would have sent a different message.

It would have made no sense for them to have allowed a random criminal to cut their heads off while they were still trying to spread the Word. That would not have been martyrdom and would not have carried the same message of being willing to die for the sake of the faith.

Are there any NT examples of passivity and submission in the face of random criminals (as opposed to agents of the state)?

What if Jesus was murdered by a criminal on the road before he could die on the cross?

Remember, Paul fell among thieves and countrymen. Many times the Jews, not Romans who were in control of the government, beat him leaving him for dead. If I could justify Christian violence from the NT, I would probably think in those terms, and try to interpret scripture that way too. But I cannot justify violence in self defence if if I love my enemies.
